Monday Bitchfest 6/27

Re: Monday Bitchfest 6/27

  • The neighbours have company which brought their dog and it was out at 6am barking like a freak for 15 minutes with another dog. Woke me up and it took me forever to fall back asleep and then my kids were up early. FML! I'm so tired this morning! I hope they go home soon!  :#

  • DH did laundry all weekend.  Silly me to assume he did laundry the way that I do laundry, which would include FOLDING THE EFFING CLOTHES.  I wandered down into the basement this morning to grab an outfit out of the basket, and the baskets are just full of crumpled clothes.  I'm so annoyed with him today and he doesn't even know it!

This drives me up the wall! But I must admit, him attempting to fold laundry and folding it wrong or half-assed bothers me more than anything. No, it's NOT the thought that counts damn it! If you're going to do it, do it right! Haha
  • @AllyTheKid, either way I have to redo it.  But to me, not even attempting to fold it is just flat-out rude.  Grr.  I'm going to tell him tonight to just not do the damn laundry anymore.
  • MIL came over yesterday to drop of the family cradle and see the nursery. She hasn't shown much interest in the baby except this cradle...

We are in the nursery and she looks at the clothes we have so far and asks why does the baby have so many clothes? She would never buy 0-3 month outfits, waste of money etc.( keep in mind we have sleepers and a couple onesies) but really, why do you carry what I buy my kid??!! So annoying!!
  • samkins were her children naked for 3 months? lol
  • @emmaaa I absolutely know how you feel! My dad passed away suddenly almost four years ago so my mom moved into a condo and we took over the house. It took three dumpsters to clean out that house since they were pack rats and there is still stuff here that belongs to my mom! I couldn't imagine having to deal with it pregnant so no need to apologize for the rant, I would feel the exact same! I'm sorry and I hope the transition gets easier!

  • @Kaessi Perfect! Just add a headband and you're good to go. If you happen to have long gloves laying around too, it would be brilliant!
  • I have more of a TMI symptom to complain about....

My 1st pregnancy I had kidney stones that were not fun at all that landed me admitted a few times so I've been drinking water non stop this pregnancy in hopes to not have the same problem again.

Yesterday afternoon I started with blood in my urine.... just great! All I could think about was when is the pain going to come if I have a kidney stone.... luckily no pain so I went to OB this morning to do a urine sample and it's leaning more towards a UTI thank goodness but still no pain from that... So now just waiting to see what the culture shows they are sending off.

I just feel like its been one thing after another, first placenta previa and now this.

  • Guys. No matter how I sit or lay, I feel like my ribs are crushing my lungs, other internal organs, themselves, and/or the babies. Any suggestions? I am so miserable unless I am standing, in which case, my legs and hips hurt and my feet swell. I obviously can't sleep or work standing since I have a desk job. I need relief. The only thing that makes it feel even remotely better is arching my back so much that I am basically looking at the ceiling. How am I supposed to make it 13 more weeks when I can't breathe now?? Any advice? It appears they have run out of room growing up - but I am not small outward, either.
  • I love my MIL dearly and I appreciate ALL that she does for me, but she went out and got all this stuff for the shower for favors without asking me or my mom and I don't want to use baby bottles filled with candy for a favor. I wanted mason jars, which are a little more nicer and people can use them after. So now, because me and my mom don't like confrontation, will just use the baby bottles and pray they look cute. BUT what really pisses me off is that if we did this without consulting her, she'd cry again like the time I didn't have her come and finish the 5 items on my registry and have my DH come home yelling at me for not involving his mom! So now I feel like I can't plan or do anything without making sure I let her know. It's totally annoying and eerks the shit outta me!

  • @Kaessi... that dress is perfect. Plus, you're pregnant....  come on! I had a friend who did a Gatsby themed wedding and although they wanted people to dress up for the fun, it wasn't required. If your friend thinks that everyone is going to show up looking exactly like she wants, she's got another thing coming lol
  • Ugh @sportiegrl1213 I totally get it.  And my mother and I would totally use the bottles, too, to just "keep the peace."  So annoying.  Why doesn't anyone consider the pregnant chick's wishes??

I'm in the middle of a baby shower battle of sorts, too.  My mom is planning it - but she lives out of town.  My MIL lives barely 10 minutes away.  When I got married last year, we had 2 bridal showers, one back home, given by my mom, one here where I now live, given by my MIL.  This time around, I was like, let's just do one big one, here at our house or nearby.  We told MIL that, and that we'd picked a date (this was back around Mother's Day), because of people that might be traveling into town for it.  She was kind of put out, that it wasn't going to be surprise and that we'd already settled on a date.  But, my mom jumped right in and was like, let's do it together, you can help with all the stuff I can't do because I don't live here, etc. She seemed all for it, and has every time it's come up in discussion. Well, my mother has since emailed her to discuss the plans, and she hasn't responded in over a week!  I saw MIL over the weekend, and she was like, oh, I keep meaning to get back to your mother... I just find it kind of rude.  I feel like since my mom sort of took the lead, MIL is just taking a backseat and checking out.  Of course, then I hear from my mom, who's like, "well, I'm not reaching out to her again, I'll just do it myself."  And, then I'm worried I'll resent MIL for her lack of participation... And of course if I say anything to my husband, I just know he'll jump to MIL's defense which will just annoy the crap out of me! Be on my side!!!  So I'm stuck in the middle just wishing everyone would get along and leave me out of it.
  • @CopperBoom86... that feels like a scam to me and something you should show up to with a big dog and/or a weapon.... or just not go.
  • @CopperBoom86 Shady lady. Set the meet up at the police station parking lot. Most of them have designated parking sports for people who are meeting strangers that they've purchased things from.

@bnsmith85 - Normally, my spidey senses would be tingling, too, but we have several friends in common and I've actually seen her in a few of my friend's pictures before working for our local Relay for Life. I get the feeling she's just really forgetful and not too bright. I'm gonna try one more time because the diapers are a great price (.10 per diaper) but after that, I'm giving up and reporting her to the admins.

  • @CopperBoom86, have you paid her?  Girl, cancel this transaction if you can!

@Kaessi, that dress is perfect!  So sparkly too!

@emmaaa, I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. :(  Just wanted to send you hugs!

@sjo_thetwins, no words of advice...just wanted to commiserate.  I've been feeling the "i am so tired after only 2 hours of doing things" lately... I'm not used to it. :(  Also, I spotted a tiny varicose vein on my left leg.  YUCCCCCK!  I can't believe 15 more weeks of this!

My bitch today:  This belly has turned me into a messy eater.  Seriously, every time I eat something, I end up spilling something on my shirt.  It's so annoying.  It makes me look so unkempt.  It's only 1PM and I have these oily splotches on my blouse from my pasta lunch today. :(
  • @annabenanna I haven't paid her yet. I'm going to give it one more go, but after that, I'm done!

  • Now I need to bitch about work. Lol. I got to the salon before we opened at 10 and checked the appointments. The day was basically empty, but we got some walk-ins. I got a pedicure that I didn't start until about 10:15. Since the schedule was empty and I only work a half day, I convinced my guest to upgrade to the luxury pedicure. At about 11:15 my manager comes up to me and bitches me out for upgrading her because now 11 o'clock apptointments are waiting. Excuse me? You have 6 other techs working. I was the first to get a client, you've known what service I was doing for an hour. It's not my fault you kept accepting walk-ins and now you're running behind! Same shit, different day.

  • We live in a three story house with the master on the third floor. Saturday I walked downstairs to see water pouring out of the sprinkler head on the second floor. We think it's the master shower leaking, but the fact that it through the ceiling makes me paranoid that it's going to mold. Plumber couldn't come out until today. There was literally not a single plumber in the entire city of Las Vegas on Saturday that could/would come help us. Oh and DD is sick (103.5 fever at 2 am this morning) so I'm probably going to catch her seal cough/typhoid fever right before our vacation.

  • yes dogs... it's a fabulous idea to grab one of the only 2 toys with a still working squeaker in it and do laps around the house squeaking said toy while also barking at each other..... just as I get on a call with my president and IBM. AWESOME... thanks. #workfromhomeproblems

I couldn't respond until now bc today was super busy...@bnsmith85 same here, when we bought and moved last year we made sure to have a fenced in yard but (silly us) still have been walking them, sorta rotating their walks and free-for-all runs in the yard....either way, keeping track of feedings and either letting them out or walking, is definitely a task that can cause fights as much as laundry or dishes haha. Sorry about your quota being reached so early!

edit: I spoke too soon (didn't read rest of thread) hoping the rest of the day went smooth...
  • @bnsmith85 Haha - my pup does this allllll the time.  It's like he has some sixth sense or something that right when I'd like some quiet he should start squeaking a toy incessantly - after picking through the toy bin for the one of 2 that actually have a squeaker left, of course.  Then, when I finally finish my phone call or whatever I'm doing, he flops down and falls asleep.  Some life they have!! Can I trade with them for a day?

oh... bitch #2... I was so excited about the $10 CPR certification class I found (they're usually $110). DH realized it was on a Tuesday (when he golfs after work with his work golf league) and he emailed the freakin people to ask for a refund so we could go to the next class... BUT THEY DON'T HAVE A NEXT CLASS SCHEDULED! Why? Why would you request a refund for me too? Without even talking to me about it! Go to your own separate class... my child's safety is much more important to me than your freakin golf schedule. We have SO much stuff coming up over the next few months that our schedule is super packed and this was really the best time for us to do it. So now, the next class has a good chance of falling on a date when we are busy and can't go. Grrrrr

    End rant.
  • Strep is alive and well in my house. How does the boy have so much energy while so sick? He thinks he wants to go outside. It's  90°. NO.

    So much TV. So much.

  • Nesting has kicked in but I am in so much pain I can't do anything but stare at the stuff I want and need to clean but physically can't. DH is sick of the honey do list so I wait for less pain. I did get half the kitchen done on weekend feels great to have baking space back.
  • @CopperBoom86 hahaha that made me laugh out loud. Same thing happened to me meeting up with a lady who was going to be watching our dog. I make a huge effort to bring my dog to work, etc., get to her house, and it looks like no one lives there! There's even a lock box on the door. I DM her since it was through a website, and she doesn't respond until an hour after our meet up time saying sorry. I was so skeeved out by that point because I've watched every episode of Catfish that I just told her nevermind.

Me too! My brain has so many projects it's thinking about all the time. I just don't always have a ton of energy to execute them.

  • @sjo_thetwins Have you tried a recliner that allows you to stretch out? What about a tall stool that you can sort of lean your butt up against, take the weight off your legs but keep your body mostly straight? Something that helps me feel like I have more room in my stomach is to get on my knees and lean my upper body against a pillow. It lets the baby fall more forward and take the weight off of your organs. I used to have to do that a lot when I wasn't pregnant, but suffering from back pain.

  • Yesterday was my birthday. My husband said the day before that he will take care of the kids and let me sleep in. Nope my 2 year old decided 6am was a good morning play time. Fell asleep while cuddling with him on the couch around 8 woke at 8:30, his older brother let himself out the gate to his room and is staring at me to wake up so then im up with both boys. What's my husband doing? Snoring! No presents from my husband or anything special. My mother who lives we live together with got me big fat nothing. And when she got off work complained to me about how I didnt clean the house more, but yet my mother can give my brother money just cuz he doesn't get off his butt to work. She took off for his drivers license test but whatever. We always have a birthday party for all the immediate family and me and my cousin's birthday are two days apart so we do a family party together well my mother keeps blowing everyone off about it saying we will eventually get to it. But she wants me to plan a vacation for her birthday with all my siblings anf her friend and her friend's two kids. Two months from now on her birthday.
  • I knew the day was young when I posted earlier, so here's #2 bitch for the day. My stepmom and I have always been close, I'd even say she's more of a mom than my bio mom, but lately she's gotten on my last damn nerve. Every time we talk she's got something negative to say about having a baby. For example, today she messages me and starts going on about how expensive daycare is going to be and how we should be considering taking on second jobs. Granted both my husband and I work full time jobs and make decent money. I work bank hours and he switched to second shift so we wouldn't have to have Bean in daycare all day. But she keeps going on about how we're in for sticker shock about prices, the thing is we've been looking so we already know the range we're in.

Everyday it seems like she's got something she has to point out, it's almost like she thinks we're going to be incompetent parents or something. Granted the last time I was around a baby or changed a diaper was 20+ years ago, but damn I'm not an idiot! I've kept the dogs alive and healthy for 10 years, I think I can handle a child.

@RainMira9e I don't have a recliner and while I think it would help tremendously, our living room (where I would want it) isn't big enough to accommodate one. Our bed is the adjustable frame, so we can recline it sort of - lift our heads and feet - and that feels good for awhile until I feel like the babies are too heavy and I need to be laying on my side. Laying on my side feels good but only as long as I have enough support/not too much under my head and something in between my legs (snoogle). I tried to sleep without the snoogle last night and I woke up in so much pain. But at night isn't even the worst. It's while I'm working. I have a desk job, so there is literally only so much I can do. :/
  • Symptom/bitch: The SPD is getting worse, but slowly. Now I can feel my hips flexing, with only mild pain, but I know it's going to get worse. I'm just praying that my belt from last time still fits (I was 50lb heavier then).

  • Argh. It's still Monday here, and I'm so irritated right now. Got about 4 salty emails from students (I work at a college, btw, so these are supposedly all "adults") basically saying that I'm slow for not emailing them back immediately. Also had a salty comment on our school's private FB group (from a student), who literally first emailed me only 4 days ago and said that "we're not responding to any of her emails."

I hate to break it to you, but you're not the only students we have! We also have no more budget for student workers, and my boss is focusing on faculty issues, so everything student-related is pretty much down to me. So I prioritize! So sorry I am not at your beck-and-call.

Also, most of these people I've been emailing, asking for more information/documents from them. They send their stuff to me VERY late, and then expect a next-day turnaround.

Um, no. There are people who got their stuff in on time. They're ahead of you.

    I need a vacation.
