Re: Weekly Randoms (6/20-6/24)

  • Any Texans care to chime in about how easy/hard it is to secure a midwife in Texas?

@perrasucia That birthing center sounds nice - I don't think what I'll have is considered killer insurance - but then I'm comparing it to Canadian universal health care...

  • @catiecatp I wouldn't think it would be hard to get a midwife in TX. I don't have any experience so this is strictly an opinion.

My 2nd BMB did a FB group around beginning of 3rd tri. Then that group spawned a smaller group, which then had a huge cat fight and spawned two more groups with the third still being around. SO - now I'm in a small 16 woman group AND a larger 50 women group. Dramz.

But, seriously, I am besties with my small group. So, I anticipate that it WILL happen for us at some point.

This sounds like my BMB.... which board was is?

What the hell is happening in the western world?! I'm so sad about this and feel like the entire year has been such a regression of humanity.

Man we are making a lot of refugees that we aren't letting in and now the nations that do let them in are starting to turn too.

All of my paternal family is there.
I'm  pretty sure they all voted to come out, they aren't exactly the welcoming kind .
I have British citizenship and was looking forward to maybe working while traveling around Europe when H can give up his clearance...they were probably pipe dreams anyway!

TMI but I've had diarrhea all week. I've always eaten loads of vegetables so even though I'm craving them now more than ever I don't think that can be why... Anyone else have this problem? Should I be worried?

Agreed. People all over the world giving into fear when we should most be welcoming and united. Everyone is forgetting the lessons of the past. Very scary.

Sorry it could affect your travel plans. That sucks. Hopefully British citizens will keep some rights to travel and work freely in the EU, though I know it may not pan out that way.
  • Eh, no worries.

I have pretty much since a couple days after my BFP on and off. I read that some women get it instead of constipation so while it sucks I think I kind of prefer it. Sorry if this is TMI but at least with diarrhea I feel pains for a few minutes but then after BM it's gone where I feel a lot worse with constipation for days.

Thank you, I feel relieved that it's not just me!  You're right, I would take this over constipation any day.  I just hope it goes away before MS sets in because I've only pharaoh-ed once before while sick with the stomach flu and it was just the WORST.

For the first week or so after my BFP, I alternated days between constipation and diarrhea.  I always preferred the latter.  Now the constipation has set in pretty much nonstop, and I've never wished for that "gotta go" feeling so badly...

  • I have the saddest FWP..  everyone be prepared for tears.

When I got my ice cream yesterday, I also bought a popsicle to not pay the 75 cent credit card transaction fee.  I really wanted to eat it after my ice cream but controlled myself with will power and put it in the freezer here at work.

I went to eat it..  IT MELTED.  MY POPSICLE WAS GONE.  :'(

I'm having an emotional pregnant day (the bills started arriving!) and that legit brought a tear to my eye.
  • This is the randoms thread so I'm going to go completely off the wall here... what is with the way the next generation of teenage guys are dressing? A group of them just walked by my car (DH went in to pick up Mexican food), and one of them was wearing a maroon collared shirt, baby blue shorts, black socks up his calf, and neon orange sneakers. WTH? How is this normal?

They all had similarly odd color combos. Also, it's 9 at night and still 93 degrees here, why are you wearing tall socks?!
Rainbow baby Dean is due 2/17/17!
  • @WinchesterGirl I was just asking my nephew why his socks were so high, and bright.
  • @WinchesterGirl omg DH and I were just commenting on that today... It makes no sense, kids used to get made fun of for dressing like that. I'm not condoning bullying just saying that's how it was when I was in school.

  • Right? I just don't get it now. Is matching no longer a thing? But it isn't just that particular group, I have seen it all over town, so it must be some sort of "style".
Rainbow baby Dean is due 2/17/17!
  • Sounds like a ridiculous way to dress but better than having your arse hanging out... That was a style I never understood

  • I can no longer puke and rally these days so trying an Epsom salt bath! Praying that some extra magnesium and b vitamins help with the nausea and vomiting. Will post if I notice any differences over the next few days.
  • Finally made it to the computer to update my siggy and add in my GIF for firework fails.

In other news....I had a tough day today (just an overall bad mood) which my DD completely turned around by learning how to give me kisses tonight. She has known how to blow kisses, but has never walked up and kissed me before. Cue heart melt.
