@LWC1112 Thanks! I get tomorrow off for my "birthday" (we get a day off extra during the month of our birthday only, and it won't carry to any other month) so I'm going to be spending ALL WEEKEND with DD. The crazy schedule only last for 3 more weeks. Thank God.
@hannah0726 Would a compromise for your mother to do pictures in the frilly dress?
It seems like it could be something you add on to the end of the newborn shoot, and if it doesn't happen because the baby throws a fuss, it doesn't happen, (and get some cute diaper shots on the way to the dress) but that way she has a picture of her in the same dress her girls wore, and you get to pick out a new going home outfit... I'd let her know you know that dress is special, and you don't want to leave her in it for the whole trip home, plus checking out, since she might make a mess on it!
Recently I've become obsessed with the Lily Jade backpack style diaper bags. We have a Petunia Pickle Bottom back pack style from our first, but it was like a bottomless pit and I rarely used it. I'm contemplating trying to sell that one and maybe splurge on the LJ. I actually like it as a bag as well, whereas the PPB is strictly a diaper bag. Anyone have one of the LJ bags or have a similar obsession? They are way more than I thought I would spend on a diaper bag, but with two kids, I'm thinking my oversized purse is going to make me crazy.
@Katm89 - I'm planning to buy a bamboo Belly Bandit this weekend.
Also, C-section is scheduled for 7 weeks from today. I am more ecstatic "OMG, ONLY 7 MORE WEEKS MAX OF BEING UNCOMFORTABLE EVERY DAY" than concerned that we still have lot to do. That's probably some FTM naiveté right here!!
@Allisun85 That's a good idea. I wouldn't mind taking pictures in the dress after we get home or something. Thanks!
Embarrassing moment story.
Today I told my MIL our baby's name. After the excitement she said, "I thought you might name her Haley." Her reasoning....take the first two letters of my name "Ha" and my husband's middle name and voila...Haley. Strange right?
Later, I was telling my mom the story just because I thought it was funny. I was at her house and a decorator was over at her house too. At the end of the story I was saying I understand using a name that honors family members but after yourself? Who would ever name their kid after themselves and their husband and make it into a name. Hand to God the decorator said...well I actually did that. I could have died. WHAT ARE THE ODDS? Most awkward moment ever.
@lgem4 if there are headrests on the other back seats, just not the middle, I highly recommend the mirror we got. It's big and much clearer than others I've seen and you can adjust the angle. We've got ours set up on the headrest next to the middle where the carseat is and can see everything very clearly. Its the Daffadoot 2016 model. Can't get a link to copy/paste right now. I got it off Amazon.

Same here!! Happy birthday, fellow June baby! Mine's Monday and I am NOT spending all day in the office with meetings back to back. HR recommended I save my birthday PTO towards my mat leave and I'm all:
So I signed up for Le Tote a few months ago to supplement my wardrobe and it worked pretty good for a while. But last week's box was a fail... One jacket that was far too heavy for Texas summer, a top that didn't fit, and a skirt that was too big and after 1 wear was too stretched to wear again. This week's box was another fail... Another too heavy jacket, a too small top, and a dress that is too small. I've even updated my sizes because I discovered their clothes are a little more second trimester oriented. So I'll send another box back unhappy, and I just paid this month's dues. Womp womp womp.
I totally agree. My niece is playing softball this summer and I can't go Bc it has been so hot:( I have had something every weekend so far with weddings etc. I just want to nest and drink lemonade also!!
@Car0liiine I can't read your user name without instantly singing it like the way Andre 3000 does in the Roses song by Outkast and I just thought you should know lol
@jacmkelley Thank you for your advice. I keep struggling with should I just agree with her or stand up for what I want? I go back and forth inside you know? It's her first grandchild so I know she's just excited. I guess I'll give in on the things that aren't a huge deal but have to talk to her about things I feel more strongly about.
@Mrsrundell when I went on our tour we asked if we would deliver and recover in the same room... whether they supply a birthing ball or I should bring mine... if I could wear my own clothes to labor... what the policy was for a c section and how many/ who can attend... I found out that its actually up to the anesthesiologist... and they encourage days to bring a button down just in case so they can do skin to skin with baby while mom gets stitched up... thought that was cool.
I'm patiently waiting for people to start posting in the Birth Announcements Board, but am really hoping I make it another month or so with these babies!
@tmk0325 me too! I feel like I am so far off with an Aug 24th due date, but I'm thinking by mid July there will be a couple mamas that will be at 38 weeks or so and we will get to see sweet babies. And all of our twin moms!
@Hannah0726 That is too funny! Random that you would meet someone that actually did that! My MIL thought we would take the first two letters of my name plus the last three of my husband's to make Mason for our son... It honestly never occurred to me to do that, even with all the celebrity name combos that pop up.
... I mean my husband and I named a video game character "Allian" (Allison & Ian) because we were both playing the same character through the game (I think it was Zelda?)
We actually did that with DD. Our friends would tease us about having babies when we first started dating since we were friends first and the majority of our friends were mutual. One friend came up with mixing our names (Ryan and Emily) to make Riley. When we seriously started talking about names we both agreed we actually loved the name and stuck with it. There wasn't even really another contender.
With this baby we're using my maiden name as the first name. When my mom told my dad he was like are they going to make the middle name that too? Like last name, last name, last name? He apparently forgot that's not my last name anymore or my babies
@ginger819 yes, Riley is an actual name, no oddness there! For me, it was more my MIL's line of thinking that didn't fit with my husband and I, but that's common with her.
@tmk0325 I've been lurking on June and July's birth announcement boards! I can't resist.
I've also been lurking on some of the post-partum boards. I can't decide if this is helpful, as it helps me know what to expect, or if it's just freaking me out about something I have no control over (tearing and lochia and all that).
@Snaps816... I would stay off the pp boards! Everyone is different, and there's a good chance you won't relate to a lot if it. I found it easier to go day by day with my recovery for both kids. And I'm glad I did, because it helped to not have set expectations.
Baby shower is over, closed out my registries yesterday, washed and put away everything I have so far, and now just waiting for my orders to arrive next week! Baby's bag is packed except for 1 item I don't have yet, and I think I'm going to pack a few things in my own bag just because I have them.. Like nursing pj's to wear at the hospital, and big boring underwear to wear home lol. And need to get the carseat base installed soon. Just over 6 weeks until my due date, and baby could be here anytime really! It's gone so fast, but I can't wait to meet my little man!
@Stephanie7693 I guess it depends on what you are used to wearing for pj's on a normal basis, but for me, I just brought a few nursing tanks and some pj bottoms. It was way easier than having to worry about button up tops and you can throw something cute over the tank for pics or visitors or whatever else.
I have a nursing tank, thin comfy pants, and a nursing nightgown and robe set. I plan on wearing the nightgown in the hospital, and just throwing the robe on over it with visitors. It's all very light and seems perfect for summer. I actually want another set so I can live in it when I get home too I typically wear a tshirt and underwear to bed, but that's not ideal for nursing, so nightgowns with nursing straps are probably the way to go for me. I think I'm just going to pack a lightweight sundress to come home in. I have a couple non maternity ones that I can actually still wear now, so I'm going to put one in the bag and live without it for a month or so.
I'm hosting my neighbors shower next week...small only 10 people attending including myself and my DH.... I need you ladies to vote( I'm ordering catering) Baked ziti, Chicken parm or Lasagna... which would you pick... the lasagna has meat... and if i did baked ziti I would do a crock pot of meatballs... and if I did chicken parm I would put some ziti with butter on the side
@Katm89 I would vote for baked ziti because it's easier to eat with just a fork. Especially if you could find bite size meatballs. That seems better for a party than the others, which you really have to sit down and use a fork and knife for.
Edited to clarify -- it would be easier for people to eat while standing, mingling around.
@rikopy my due date is August 25 and I made my final MFM appointment for August 10. The latest they'd let me go would be August 12. I honest to good hope I go around the end of July beginning of August because everything is starting to hurt now and I can't imagine going 38'weeks!! They were 3lbs 5 ozs each on Wednesday at 30 weeks.

@katm89 baked ziti and meatballs would be my preference - you can cover a wide range of food types, vegetarian, low carb, gluten free, or if you're like me I would want both, pasta and meatballs

But no, I wouldn't do that to my kid, lol.

@tmk0325 my old youth pastors wife just had twins a few weeks ago. She made it to 37 weeks and then they took her for a c section.
