Emotional mess

DH just left to go on a last minute trip to Africa for 2 weeks and I can't stop crying. I don't know why I get so emotional when he travels that far. Business trip to MN, Vegas, etc I have no problem... But Africa is too far and too long of a trip when I could deliver in as soon as 6 weeks. I would rather have him go now than after baby comes but I don't know why it is so hard for me to stay behind. Am I the only one who struggles when their dh leaves?

Nope you're not alone. When my husband was in and out of the hospital for about month was so hard on me. I cried, couldn't sleep and just was lonely. I think it's normal to want your other half with you. Just try to stay strong and keep busy. He'll be back before you know it. :Hugs:

I'm pathetically dependent upon my hubby. If he's out of town I cry every night and if it's more than a few days he has to get family to come check on me because sometimes I stop eating, drinking and taking my medicine. I can't imagine if he had to go so far during my pregnancy!! Try to stay busy and do some things to treat yourself while he's gone, that helps me some. I'll be thinking about you!!

Honestly, I'm the same way when he leaves for any period of time. We barely spend time apart from each other, to the point where about half way through his work day, I'm miserably lonely, and will try to nap to kill as much time as possible. I'm super clingy with him, I'm pretty pathetic. It's been worse during the pregnancy though, because my mind will concoct whatever awful scenario when I can't physically see him. Like, what if they wreck the work truck and he gets hurt?

@Knottie1442786653 I hear ya! Visions of plane crashes, Brussels airport terriosts, malaria and amoebas, political unrest and riots ... Hate how my mind goes to such terrible things. At least my two boys are high energy and will take up a lot of my time.

You are definitely not alone! I'm so sorry you're going through this because it's very stressful.

I am always worried about DH traveling. They considered sending him to a meeting in Australia and I said absolutely not. It's not a must that he is there in person as he can assist remotely with no issues. I had a little scare a couple weeks ago with some mild contractions (ended up being due to dehydration) and he called his boss right after and told him he is grounded until at least September. Thankfully his work is super family friendly and completely understands!

Never like  that.  I blame the hormones.

I'm the same way. There is a very small chance DH will have to go to China in mid-July and I'm already panicking about it. There is just too much that could happen. I'm hoping he can put his foot down. He is gone next week for a day or two and that is also bugging me, but at least it is just to North Carolina.

Usually I'm fine with DH traveling, be he was planning a work trip for late July and I freaked out! I totally don't blame you... everything is a little scarier and more emotional when you're pregnant!

I am usually ok with DH traveling. I have shows I want to watch, do a little cleaning and throw some stuff away--that he never seems to notice is gone! But he agreed to take DS to a tournament that is 8-9 hours away the last weekend in July and while I know that its two months away and we can always send him with a teammate if it looks like the baby will come early--I am still freaking out.

Yes very much and not only for DH, my parents and siblings as well. I think is just all the things that are happening in this world that freak me out and worry me so much that i start crying and feel so horrible and empty.
