how many receiving blankets, hooded towels, and bibs/burp cloths should I register for? Right now I have (2) 4-pack receiving blanket, 12 hooded towels and 18 washclothes, and 8 bibs and burp clothes. Did I over do it? Should I add anymore of anything? I wish I could have you ladies take a look at my registry but I dont know how to do that without showing all of my private info... any one want to help with that?
Re: registry help
all my friends recommended cloth diapers as burp cloths-more absorbent, easier to clean.
i think 12 hooded towels is too much too...you only need a couple for each. you're good with the washcloths and i would register for more bibs in different sizes for when they start to teethe.
We don't us bibs at all. I have gerber cloth diapers that I use for burp cloths: best thing ever! I have 3-4 packs but I wish I had more.
We only have 4 towels. I didn't get hooded ones -- I just got regular thick ones, because they are thicker and the hood part is so hard to get on their head. But it is up to you, lots of people use hooded towels successfully.
I have 16 recievng blankets, but that was a bit excessive, so you are probably right on target with those. Also I have only 6 wash cloths and I get by just fine. I actually use mostly the Jehnson and Johnson disposable washcloths. They are much easier.
Blankets - you look good bc people will give you more as well at showers even the ones you don't register for.
Towels - too many you really won't need that many and to be honest in the beginning we used the same ones over and over again bc they don't get baths every day.
Washclothes - looking good.
Bibs - more we go through so many both my babies have reflux and are the messiest eaters, we go through 2 bibs at each feeding most times.
Burp Cloths - more you will use these for tons of things
