I had an excellent ultrasound. My baby is measuring a week ahead at 9w3d and a strong heartbeat of 175bpm. I cried so hard when I saw that flicker on the screen. I go back in 3 weeks for my 12 weeks spot. Thank you for all the support and prayers it was so stressful this morning
@Jkp7749 I'm so sorry for your loss. Lots of love for you during this incredibly hard time.
@LoneStar21416 I won't know much more until the 24th. I have an incredible obgyn who is watching me closely and allowing extra u/s during my 1st trimester, but this last u/s was just via the tech, so I didn't have a chance to speak to the obgyn. I do remember that I read somewhere that growth like that (measuring behind and then measuring a little ahead after a few weeks) is pretty normal. I can't remember the reason (according to the article) though.
@curlysue22 I like that term!! "Wiggly Bean"! It's very appropriate!
1. Tell us about yourself (if your first time participating): I'm 34 soon to be 35, midwestern lady (I use that term loosely) who loves running, reading and works in the construction industry. I've been with my Husband for 13 years, married for nearly 9. We have no children and this will be our first.
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms): I am okay. I have ridiculous amounts of bloating, am experiencing heartburn currently, have some morning nausea, am very hungry, and fatigued randomly. Don't forget the crazy vivid dreams.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise): It's touch and go. One minute I'll be fine, the next I panic a little.
4. When is your first or next appointment? My first appointment isn't until 6/27 at nearly 9 weeks.
5. Rants/raves/whatever: I'm hoping that H can find some peace and move forward into the excitement territory. Our previous loss happened around 6 weeks, so that helped a bit to pass.
6. GTKY: what is your favorite thing to binge watch on Netflix? Gilmore Girls. People talked about it for ages, and I didn't "get" it. Then I "got" it and can't stop.
@Jkp7749 I'm so, so sorry for your loss. I know there are no words of comfort now, but please know you're in my thoughts. Make sure that you take some strong pain meds at the same time of the meds. I also recommend a heating pad. Please take care of yourself both physically and mentally. Hugs your way.
Well I just got back from my appointment and I am thrilled to say everything looks good! Heartbeat was around 150bpm and measured 7 weeks and 3-4 days so my EDD is January 21st now my PA is super awesome and she is going to have me come back in on the 21st to take a quick peek and see if everything is alright. Then it will be the normal appointment time from there.
I'm in a really unsettled place right now. I had some spotting this afternoon and called my OB office right away. It was the end of the work day but they got me in right away for an u/s. I was 100% expecting bad news. On the wonderfully bright side, my little baby looked great. Growth is right on track at 8w1d with a strong hb of 170. The disconcerting part was the u/s tech saw a pool of blood inside the gestational sac. If it were outside of the gestational sac it would be called a subchorionic hematoma but she doesn't know what it is since it is inside the sac. The NP was the only one left in the office and she told me to go on pelvic rest and I'm going in for a recheck on Monday with a doctor. It sounds like this is really rare and I'm so worried that it is going to cause a m/c. I hope and pray that the blood is reabsorbed and doesn't harm my baby. The u/s tech said the main thing she worries about is if the placenta tries to attach there. Ugh.

Oh wow @rocksinthewater what a roller coaster. Fx for the blood to be absorbed and your bean to be totally healthy. Do you have anything to distract yourself this weekend?
@RocksInTheWater holy smokes! I'm praying that the dr says it's no biggie and resolves itself. I'm glad that the baby is growing well. Really thinking of you.
I'm sorry @rocksinthewater I wish I had some info on this situation, but I've never heard of that either. Maybe your doctor can give you a call tomorrow to discuss the ultrasound and answer some questions before your re-check? Maybe try to give you a bit more information going into the weekend? I'll be thinking about you. I'm staying positive on your behalf and hoping the doctor is unconcerned!
I'm 33, DH is 46. We have been TTC since December 2010 with a mc last August. I am currently 6w1d so my EDD will either be the VERY end of Januaru or the VERY beginning of February.
As for how I'm feeling, I get nauseated if I don't eat what seems like constantly. Im not sure if that MS or just that I eat several small meals per day anyways. Man the constipation is real and the boobs are sore. Also, I find myself looking to take a mid-afternoon nap. The most disconcerting things are the little cramps, though from what I've read that's a "good" thing?? I find some comfort in the symptoms though, and of course tend to freak out a bit if they disappear for a bit.
I actually saw my OB the day after my BFP right at 4w which was great because I was able to ask some questions and get some answers. My u/s is scheduled for next Wednesday, when I will be 7w exactly based on dating by OPK.
I havent binged on Netflix in a whole (since Doctor Who is gone) but I like Jessica Jones and DareDevil.

This weekend I'll be laying low. Apparently pelvic rest also means no heavy lifting, right? Hard to do with a 2-year-old! Luckily, DH will also be home to help. Starting next week I'll be home every day with DS as I'm now on summer vacation and today is his last day of daycare. Hoping for good news on Monday!

Hi ladies I am new here, expecting my rainbow in early January. I am glad I found you guys because you all "get it". It's comforting to know that I am not alone in my fears and I feel better that I found somewhere to belong.
I had my first u/s at 6 weeks where I got to see the little bean and hear the heartbeat which was unexpected but amazing. Unfortunately I have had some spotting and a scary spotting episode last Friday where I actually saw blood in my underwear. Prior to that it was just streaks on the toilet paper. This scared the crap out of me and I called my ob right away and got in on Tuesday this week. I was able to have an u/s and my little bean was just fine, growing normally and had a heartbeat of 150. I was a bit concerned with the low heartbeat, but the nurse said it is normal so I will trust what he says as I have no reason not too.
The only thing is that I got my blood work back and I have low progesterone so I was prescribed supplements and started right away. I feel better knowing that I am doing everything I can to help this little baby stick. My next appt. is on the 20th I will be 11 weeks and I get to do my NT scan and finally see the Dr. (The last visits have just been with the nurse.) If you have made it this far thanks for reading, and I look forward to sharing this journey with all of you.
@ceclarlinetlo thanks for checking in! I'm okay. It was short lived. Super short lived. For DH too. Now I'm just super anxious though...5 more sleeps until my scan.
Congrats @Briala! I hope to do the same, get another u/s within the next week or so, maybe one more then go to normal schedule after that. I'll take all the u/s's I can get though!
@RocksInTheWater hope you get some good news! Did you say you were going to talk to your doctor today?
Thanks @AlabamaRedhead. I did not talk to my doctor today. I'm waiting until my u/s on Monday to find out more. I'm praying that the blood sac shrinks or disappears by then.
You know you're PGAL when you finally barf and you have to talk yourself into believing your barfing because you pregnant not because you're sick or have food poisoning.
Really hope that doesn't happen again soon - we are at a board meeting with people who don't know I'm pregnant and that will definitely make it harder to hide lol.
Haaaaaa @ceclarlinetlo. Yes. Exactly. On the flip side....The other day when I was cramping like crazy and sick, my only sanity that DH was dying also. He was so mad that I was too thrilled not to be having a mc to care about him being sick
1. Tell us about yourself (if your first time participating) Hi!
My name is Megan. My hubby and I have been married for almost 9 years,
he's truly an amazing man. We knew right away that we wanted to have
kids so about 2 years into our marriage we started trying. I already had
a history of CRAZY irregular cycles, as well as endometriosis. I
actually had laparoscopy done to remove it at 15 years old. We didn't
really think it would be as big of a problem as it actually became. We
tried for almost 2 years with NO luck. Went to OB, tried clomid for two
months with no ovulation, got annoyed and took a break. FINALLY about 2
years after that, we found out we were pregnant for the first time. I
swear to god, I thought seeing a positive pregnancy test was just a myth
every woman lied about. It was the happiest moment of my adult life,
seeing two pink lines (on about 10 tests LOL)! Well unfortunately, we
started off badly. I found out (a little late) that my progesterone was
low and that I'd need a supplement. Baby kept measuring just a TAD
smaller than they wanted. Somewhere around 10 weeks I started having
pretty serious cramps, went to OB and found out baby had stopped growing
at around 8 weeks. Had a d&c for that. Hubby and I were both
devastated. We decided to try again around a month after our d&c (as
that's your most fertile time) and lo and behold we got pregnant again.
This time there was no excitement. There was just CONSTANT worry and
dread. Everything was going okay that time until about 7 weeks when I
started bleeding. Convinced I was miscarrying again, I rushed to OB.
Found out I had a subchorionic hemorrhage, and it was of pretty
significant size. I was put on light bed rest and pelvic rest. I had
several more bleeds (and the hemorrhage grew in size) until finally
around 14 weeks OB put me in the labor and delivery. At the time I was
too naive to understand, but they knew it was over. My son was born the
next day. I thought I knew pain before this moment, but I didn't. That
was probably the hardest thing hubby and I will ever live through. Then,
after a trip to the ER for what I thought was a kidney stone, I found
out we're pregnant again! I found out almost three years to the day of
our son's birth. I was immediately terrified. We've seen OB and baby
twice since then. I am now 9w6d and so far everything has been smooth
sailing. I can only pray it stays that way. Hubby and I both are
starting to get a little more excited, but we're still cautious.
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)
In terms of symptoms, I only have a few: Sore breasts, bloating,
CONSTANT weird dreams, and my appetite has finally returned, as well my
tiredness...with a vengeance!
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise) I
literally can't think of this pregnancy. I feel terrible, because I
want to be happy and not emotionally detached. But I'm so scared of
losing another child. I feel like if I convince myself it's not real,
maybe it won't hurt as much. Hubby and I both were sort of withdrawn
until last visit when we got to see our little gummy bear move. Now
we're both head over heels, and that's absolutely terrifying.
4. When is your first or next appointment? July
5th (UGHH). OB spoiled me by having me come in every two weeks from 5
weeks to 9 weeks. Thankfully everything looks okay, so now we're back to
monthly visits...but SHEESH do those two extra weeks feel like an
eternity! We'll be having our NT scan when we go back, and I'm dying for
July to get here.
5. Rants/raves/whatever Not
many. I'm thankful to be pregnant. Waiting for it to be over, that way I
can hold this little baby. I'm already over water, though. I hate it
and at this point, most days, it makes me gag drinking it.
6. GTKY: what is your favorite thing to binge watch on Netflix? Orange is the new black!
