My youngest dog wakes me up every day around 6:30am even though my husband walks him at 4am. At 9am the little bugger goes back to sleep. Why can't he let me sleep in?

Oh god @mandyjulie I feel your pain! :( I don't have a dog but one of my cats just LOVES to do cat calls randomly at the walls. He is fixed and we make sure they have plenty of food, water, ect before we go to sleep. He just... likes to hear himself I guess?  He is the only cat out of the three I have that does it and it echos through my apartment at night.

My little rant this weekend, is if someone mentions my waddling being cute (other than my husband) one more time I'm going to scream. I don't want to hear it. I'm waddling around because it feels like someone is trying to rip my pelvic bone apart and it hurts!

The worst part is its the same person who keeps saying it. I was nice and polite the first 2 or 3 times she caught me waddling back to my car and mentioned it, but between the pain getting worse and my amount of sleep per night gradually decreasing, I'm going to snap!

My milk came in. I'm not breastfeeding and dear God it hurts. I'm just hoping it goes away quickly!
  • I tried to put on my flip flops today and my feet are too swollen for them to fit properly. I didn't even think that was possible :(

  • @TM14 glad to hear the LO is doing well!

help me though! My 2.5 year old DS won't take naps any more on the weekends. He's currently in his room right now crying and screaming about not wanting to take a nap. Because he doesn't take naps, he's a supper cranky jerk every weekend evening. To top it all off, DH blames ME every time he won't take a nap....like its somehow my fault. I'm beginning to hate the weekends more than anything. The thought of that makes me sad. I have no idea how I'm going to deal with DS1 and a newborn on weekends. I guess we'll just have to make his bedtime super early.

Also, we cut milk from his diet due to his sensitive skin. We tried almond milk but he refuses it. So now he doesn't get milk ever and whines for it every day. I'm wondering if I should be giving him calcium supplements now too? I'm thinking of trying soy milk next but I'm worried that may also be an eczema trigger. I feel like I just can't win.

My daughter will only nap if she really needs it. She's about the same age and will scream as well but eventually falls asleep. It's hard. Your DH shouldn't blame you! There is no way to control what a 2 yr old does.

Maybe read books or just do a quiet time? If she won't nap we read or watch TV. That'll probably change but sometimes it works. Good luck to you!

Ugh that sucks, 2.5 is young for that. But I also have friends who have been there at that age :( Mine stopped a couple months after 3, so
pretty recently, but isn't crabby without it so it's okay. I agree with @TM14 about quiet time in his room. You can even set an alarm in there and after that he can come back out. Really may help him recharge.

Um has your husband regularly tried to put him down for naps? If he thinks it's that easy, he can deal with it.

  • It's raining and cold and I am supposed to be on vacation. Instead I am home on day 6 of severe diarrhea. Doctors still don't know what is wrong but had more labs done this morning. However because of the long weekend I probably won't know anything until Tuesday.
  • Thank god it is near the end of my work day...
I work at a resort and have had about half a dozen people ask me if we have anything available this weekend. We are sold out at both of our properties. I proceed to politely tell them "I'm sorry, we have nothing available/we are sold out."
The response I have gotten every single time has been "Oh, so there's no possibility of me getting a room tonight or tomorrow?"

    Que aggravated stare.

Sick/hormonal/sore/hungry and tired on top of being asked a dumb question after having just given them an answer. I'm starting to think I should look up how to say "No" in a couple different languages and see if it helps.

My mother has rubbed me the wrong way today. Next weekend my husband and I are going to Florida, and sharing a condo with my parents. She asked me today, "what are you going to wear on the beach?" I told her I was planning on taking several bikinis that I wore last year. Her response was to laugh and say "seriously? You're going to wear a bikini with that belly?"  :| why yes, mother, I am. And I was confident with my decision until that remark. Oh, and then she suggested I swim in a sundress to cover myself up.
  • I have two older MacBooks that I've only held on to because they have a ton of pictures and music on them that I want to save. It has been a constant battle of trying to export my shit off these computers because iTunes isn't compatible with anything and when I try to download another program it says my software is outdated. So I go to update the software and it says my computer is too old to update. So basically apple is just a fuckfest and it's making me CRAZY! All while I have to be careful not to move the computer because it will die instantly if the charger is jostled at all.

Boooo. Can you find the files in the Finder instead of going through iTunes, and copy them to an external HD that way?
  • @TM14 that is amazing!!!
@TxTeacher91 get your bikini on lady!
  • @givemepenguinss that was my original plan but then the Mac decided it wasn't compatible with the HD? So I need to get a different one? The worst part is that because I can't set the computer down whIle it's updating or it will shut off, I have been stuck in the same position for like four hours and I really have to pee and my ass hurts so bad.
  • @stellaluna14 I was going to suggest the same thing...the external HD. I have a western digital that works with my Mac. The Apple Store people will even help you with the transfer if you want!! Depending on how much room you have on your current computer you could then send the files there? Or leave them on the external. I have a shit ton of photos and music and they're both a bit of my lifeline so this was an important issue for me too, lol.
  • @stellaluna14 what about bringing them to the Apple store....I'm not an apple customer so I don't know own how their computers work but maybe they can walk you through it....hope you get your pictures!

Tropical depression Bonnie. She can go ahead and get a move on. I was supposed to be at the pool!
  • My weekend complaint goes out to the admin on a FB board for dogs with diabetes. Our senior dog was just diagnosed by our vet and we've been doing what she recommended, however after a few weeks with little to no improvement I thought I'd start doing my own homework on how we can better help him. I found a super helpful FB group and most started out welcoming. But after this admin read what my vet said to do, and we followed, she all but accused me of killing my dog and telling me I better get it together. Wtf, lady?! Sorry I listened to the vet to begin with, but who wouldn't?! Clearly I'm looking to seek alternate opinions!!! Thanks to the extra hormones I was a mess yesterday but I got it together and realized I can't blame myself and just have to move forward doing the best we can...and ignore her. After reading some of her other comments on others posts I realized that's just the way she is. A bit startling to someone new tho!!!
  • I've just gotten to work and found out one of the teacher's in my staffroom has whooping cough. She was at work last week and now has been told to stay away. I haven't had my vaccine yet (get it next week because the doctors screwed up my appointments) and I'm going to be pissed if I get it.

Oh, I'd be so pissed! Sorry!

    *Lurking from June*

Who goes to work with the whooping cough?!?! Especially knowing someone there is pregnant, but to be around kids at all with it is awful. No bueno. Hope you are all good.

Umm what the hell?!?! What is the incubation period for whooping cough? I can't believe she came to school with that! Fingers crossed that she hasn't contamintaed you or anyone else!
  • DH's grandma made me feel like an even bigger piece of s*** about my accident last week when she didn't even have all the facts.  As if I haven't felt awful about it to begin with, I didn't need her adding to it and almost making me cry in front of everyone.
  • Incubation period is 21 days (I think) and she would have been contagious all last week. So she has potentially spread it to all her classes plus all the staff she has been in contact with. Should be fun if it goes through the school. I'm hoping I'm fine, but I have a mfm appointment on Thursday so I'll bring it up with the doctor.

What a TW! Fx she didn't spread it to you or any of the kids!

@LilLambie I hope she didn't spread it to you or any of the kids. That's really brutal!
