Anyone good at predicting with the nub theory? We're happy either way but we are both so eager to know. It's fun to guess while waiting for the anatomy scan! We're guessing it's a boy from the little bit of nub I think I see. What are your thoughts?

Not me lol. I looked it up and I can't tell if the nub is part of the umbilical cord or part of the leg. Just wait 3 weeks and get a private 4D ultrasound that will tell you the sex.

I wish I could help, but I'm totally immature. When I saw "Nub Theory," the first thing that popped into my head was "Stump Penis." Haha. I'm sure someone knows what they're talking about on here, though.

Your baby is so cute! I have my 12 week scan tomorrow so I'm going to see if they can get a good shot of the nub, but I guess it depends on the baby's position. Good luck!

Did you ask the ultrasound tech to make an educated guess? I have no clue where the nub even is lol

That's what I thought. It was the cord. Oh well. We're planning on doing the 3D at 15 weeks as well be in Dominican Republic for week 14. MBS hope your baby cooperates!

Are these your only pics? Probably would want a clearer pic and baby is curled up too. The nub theory was correct with both my pregnancies. I have a girl and a boy. My shots were clearer though and the babies were stretched out a little more. It also matters how far along you are. You would get a better guess at about 12-13 weeks.

Maybe boy but I am not sure completely. The nub or what I think is the nub is up turned. I am looking at the top pic.

Y'all - @sonomama14 is a sonogram tech.  She said it was the cord we're looking at.  Shows what we know.  Sonomama14, I have a feeling you're about to become VERY popular around these parts ;-)

@DiFazetteOr hated for it haha hopefully not though. I've actually never had any of my patients ask me about the nub theory, and i only heard of it myself for the first time in this thread! I've had someone question the position of the placenta because she heard that can predict gender? I don't know, I always say you have a 50/50 chance
