Game of Thrones, the show: Spoilers

Hey GOT ladies,

Let's talk about all the things happening in season 6 since we're on maternity leave and can watch on Sunday's!

So, Jon is back! Woot!

Jon and Sansa had a gloriously sweet moment. Which never happens in this show...

And so many things are happening!

But honestly, I'm so over this high sparrow storyline. Every screen time he has bores me to death.

In other news, who's super excited to see Ramsey possibly be killed by Jon this season?!

Fun fact: The actor that plays Ramsey (Iwan Rheon) is an Ed Sheeran type of musician and he's actually kinda good ;) YouTube him if you're curious.

Also, if you're a hardcore game of thrones show fan: check out "the history and lore of game of thrones" on YouTube. It'll make everything they say in the show make more sense. Especially the prequel to the show, all about the Baratheon rebellion.

Let's discuss!

Re: Game of Thrones, the show: Spoilers

  • Oh boy oh boy oh boy. I can't wait for something terrible to happen to Ramsey.

Agree 100% about the High Sparrow.

I I was so excited to finally see Sansa reach "oh fuck it all" status.

  • I'm really excited that she finally knew she was stupid. And I'm ready for her to have a real story instead of just being used.

Oh and how sad is it that Osha's death was the least terrible thing Ramsey has done to women yet?
  • I cried when Sansa and Jon had their moment!

I cant wait for Ramsey to get what's coming to him, he is one of the most evil characters of all time!

I'm not really in to Arya's storyline these days. I really want all of the Stark children to make it back to winter fell even though I know it is highly unlikely and we're bound to lose at least one more of them by the end. Im so curious about what Bran's up to and how it will connect to everything.

I also don't care about the high sparrow! I am interested to see what will happen with the Lannisters now that Jaime and Cersei's love affair is out in the open.

Love this show and love this thread!

@LadySamLady I honestly wish Arya's storyline had a timeline. Some sort of days or weeks identification. It seemed like her beggar days were really short and pointless. She could have done her daredevil training in the temple... I mean how long has that girl been there?!

    @sorarose yaaaas! I totally ship it!! ;)

ETA: I'm honestly rooting for the Lannisters to take out the high sparrow at this point.

My favorite scenes are Varys and Tyrion by far!

I agree about Arya's storyline.  I hope it ties in to the rest of the show soon, because I don't really get it.  I'm glad to see Bran again after not seeing him last season.  I'm hoping the "flashbacks" he has been having will fill in some of the backstory.  I would love to see Jon kill Ramsey.  What a sadistic, fucked up kid!  I'm also interested in seeing how Daenerys moves forward with her new Dothraki army.  She's a badass!
  • @swflJD yes! I love Daenerys! I can't wait for her to make her way back to Westeros.

Sort of random but I can't believe how different Bran looks since the last time we saw him! Holy puberty! They really space the seasons out...
  • Bran, Rickon, Robyn Arryn all hit puberty lol and Mira Reed too I think.

Bran's flashback scenes make this season way better though. Especially the tower of joy stuff. I'm really interested about Lyanna Stark.

  • I must say, this season is holding up with the first two seasons. Last season felt a bit boring, but I am loving the new season. Jay for Jon Snow. Can they stop killing off the wolfs though!
  • LO and I were watching GOT yesterday morning. I FORGOT I was holding my baby when Sansa and Jon saw each other (thankfully we were laying down!).  I was telling my brother the other day how I found it really sad that Jon's siblings basically spend entire seasons attempting to get to him and he's totally devoted to the watch because he doesn't think any of them love him that much (IMO).
I'm so excited to see what Sansa and Jon do!!

I'm kind of hoping for a triple Stark stabbing of Ramsey via Jon, Sansa, and Rickon.

I agree with others though, this season is really great. I'm so excited Sansa and Jon have reunited, and I think the writers have done a great job with developing Sansa's character from the shallow teen first season to who she is now. Arya, however. I used to love her story line back in the Hound days, but yeah, I am so bored by it these days. I'm hoping everything comes together and makes more sense.

My UO - I really don't like Daenerys. Every season she has this big moment where she conquers and takes on more soldiers, but then it always fizzles in some way into showing she's not really that great of a queen/ruler. Then we get the strong Daenerys again until the next fizzle. When she walked out of the flames this past week, I just rolled my eyes. Are the writers going to actually keep her as a strong female ruler - have her go back to Meereen with her new army and get rid of the sons of the harpy? Or will she just get eaten by one of her dragons?

    This is hilarious

    But
Omg this episode is called The Door and my heart just broke a little more  :'(
  • Apparently, this guy predicted it back in 2008!!

  • My heart!!

  • Me right now
  • @tgortney I am so glad I did not open this before watching it just now. Frickn Summer! And Hodor. I actually thought they were going to kill him off 'cause I saw everyone was sad and it made sense. Poor baby. And the reason why he was like that broke me.
  • I think Hodor's story is some of the most brilliant writing in the whole series. And his life is weirdly beautiful, that he lived it knowing he had
    this one specific purpose.

but maybe that's the pp hormones talking...
To me it made so much more sense as to why he's so loyal to Bran and why he freaks out at such loud noises- he knew his life's purpose and had seen his death, but didn't understand it.
  • I haven't cried that hard at GOT in a long while... Maybe ever. Brilliant episode that just broke my heart.

SOBBED at the Hodor stuff, omg. Thank god my husband had left the house while I was watching it or he would have been alarmed. Poor Hodor. Loved the explanation though, really interesting
  • The battle scene was on point!!

  • @Bellodomani I am so happy with how that ended!
  • Loved last nights ep! Sansa's gotta be pregnant with Ramsey's baby, right?

OMG! When Ramesy said something about him being part of her, I was like NO WAY PLEASE DONT SAY SHE'S PREGNANT
  • I don't know how I feel about the episode...

Poor Wun Wun. BFG did not have to die. Just glad my favourite ginger is still alive 'cause him and Brienne needs to get together and have cute (big) babies.

And I really hope Sansa is not pregnant @LadySamLady although she probably is.

They probably ran out of CGI money for Giants like they did with direwolves lol plus, he served his purpose. Still, poor wun wun :( at least no important good guys died this episode (maybe Rickon, but that's questionable, he wasn't important to the plot)
  • @tgortney I wasn't sad for Rickon - because he hasn't been a major character for such a long time (if ever). Although I was seriously hoping for a Stark sibling reunion (minus Rob of course). Still hoping that happens though!!
  • Loved the episode!! I'm really glad they improved Sansa's story line for the show and she is proving to be a great character. I was so thrilled when the Erie's army came riding in, and I totally agree that Littlefinger planned this all for the start!

You definitely need to catch up! This season has been really good! And yes, the hound is back but we haven't really seen where his story line is going yet.
  • The hound is back and kicking major ass!
  • Pretty sure some major shit is gonna go down in the finale. Just because fans got some great satisfaction this episode means that next episode, our hearts will be broken because it's GOT...

oh oh and can we talk about the first 15 minutes of the episode where Dany showed how badass she is? And Tyrions epic words to that Master? Finally the dragons are doing SOMETHING!

Hey, maybe that's where the direwolf and Giants CGI money went, to more dragon time this season
