10 DPO, implantation bleeding, and BFN.

Hi all! I am going CRAZY! Need thoughts and advice. I believe I'm about 10DPO and have have very light spotting that's brownish pink for about 5 days now. No pad necessary, just when I wipe. I tested today and got a BFN with a first response. My period is due up on Wednesday. I went off the pill three months ago and have had completely normal 28 day cycles since. Could this be a late result of going off? Also, in all my 15 years of getting my period, I've NEVER been early or late, always spot on.

Could it be too early to get a positive? Or am I out of the game? I've seriously been driving myself crazy. The only other symptoms I've had are moodiness, not sleeping well, and at the beginning of the week, my nipples and breasts were the most sensitive they've EVER been.

Help please!!!

Wow, I didn't realize it was so strict. Was just looking for advice from other women who have gone through the same thing...

@AmandaScarlett This is a community. What you call 'strict' is just the way this community operates. There's a ton of support and valuable advice here, but not when you just blow in and start your own thread and demand answers. A huge number of women on this board have never even been pregnant - hence why they're 'trying'. Take a step back, read the Newbie Guide, and start participating the way others participate before you jump in and criticize the community you just barged into.

Yes, I guess it is amateur hour considering I've never posted here before and did not realize people would be so quick to jump down my throat. Really just wanted to hear if people had gone through similar things, and hopefully become a regular here while going through the "trying to get pregnant" stage. I can't believe people aren't more welcoming. I was not trying to cause any harm.

It is against the TOU to ask if you're pregnant... spotting can happen at any time in your cycle. Bodies are strange and can change at any time. You absolutely could still be effected by the birth control,  it takes some up to a year to be normal. 

The average day for a positive pregnancy test is 13dpo.

I absolutely understand (now) that there are rules. Friendly posts suggesting I read them are wonderful and helpful. Sometimes when stressed in a situation, one is just desperate for answers and with no one to turn to, I was hoping to find support here. What I don't appreciate are snarky responses to something personal that I'm going through. Women should support other women, and help/guide me along. I'm very sorry that I din;t realize the rules before, and will most certainly read up on them. But, people should be kind and respectful to others regardless.

@AmandaScarlett I understand that you think people are attacking, but if you want to understand the rules, check out the board. Look at other posts and pages for a little while. I know there's a lot to learn. It took me a while of lurking to finally post. Once you learn how it works, then you're likely to love it here. 

I have found so much support when I lost my grandparents. I've had people support me and offer suggestions in my TTGP endeavors. I adore the members of this board, and if you give it another go, I bet you can too.

I would highly recommend you take the time to lurk before posting stuff like this. It will give you great insight into how this board works. We tend to offer great support and information to people who take the time to get to know us. We don't know you. You don't know us. You also don't know the TOU of this board, which says you can't come in and ask us if you're pregnant. If you took a HPT and it was a BFN, you are not pregnant at this time.

Sorry, but support is a two way street. You have to give support to get it.

I understand you want to get some answers and are nervous about everything you're going through, but that doesn't give you a free pass to just bypass all of the threads we have pinned to the top of the page. In fact if you would have read them, you would have found the answer to your question.

@AmandaScarlett this is the big wide world of the internet.  You can't dictate how people respond and Snark is how we operate.  Learn to gif and enjoy it.  Sounds like you are open to joining the community (reading the guide and joining the daily threads) so that's great.  

Now, put on your big girl panties, go find an equally snarky gif and jump in! 



Also... Here are the standard lines

-Unless you are temping you don't when you ovulated for sure. Cycles are normal until they aren't.  I was once about a week late for no apparent reason but then had the stomach flu another and ovulated smack in the middle of it.  Bodies are weird

-implantation bleeding is rare. Don't chase that unicorn, it's only going to get your hopes up.  Symptom spotting is discouraged. 

-give support to get support


I think those are the main points....  More or less.

@AmandaScarlett I'll put it this way. You pretty much showed up to an established group of people with their own struggles - which you aren't familiar with because you haven't even followed anything like the five minute rule, gave nothing, and wanted people to fall all over themselves to help you. And they totally should because, vagina. I get tired when people say that I should help other women just because we have the same systems. I help the people who inspire me to want to help them. Regardless of what's in their pants. That's just not going to fly here and you are going to get some serious snark if you do that. Which is something you would have known if you had perused the pinned posts and did any lurking to gauge the crowd. Frankly, you got a pretty kind and gentle response.

Lots of the ladies here are struggling with being into multiple years of trying. A number have cycles that are 60+ days. They're already ute-deep into RE appointments, accupuncture, and disappointing days. And even those of us who haven't been trying very long still have our very down days. They're just straight outta patience. 

Really, read the guide, lurk, and play again. It's a great group but the more you get defensive because you got zapped for not following the rules, the less it's going to help. 

As for your original post, you said you just got off the pill. Your period is likely going to be right on schedule when you're on the pill. It's actually uncommon for people to come off the pill and go straight back to normal. It's much more normal for it to take a while for your system to regulate itself again even if it seemed normal right after. What evidence points to you ovulating 10 days ago? Are you temping? Tracking in another way? Honestly it just sounds like your body is trying to figure stuff out still. See what happens on Wednesday and if it gets to where you're concerned about what's going on, ask your doctor.

The spotting that you have had is not implantation bleeding. Implantation bleeding, if it happens, would not last 5 days.

@AmandaScarlett I think this is more of a question for the TWW (Two Week Wait) thread that we have everyday.  That is where symptom spotting is encouraged and many ladies here can answer questions you have.  It is impossible for us to know if you are pregnant.. I have never been pregnant so I have no experience to share with you there.  Are you temping? I use Fertility Friend to track my temperatures in order to confirm ovulation.  I think you should have lurked the 3 day waiting period - but you didn't.. and you can recover from that.  You will learn that the ladies here are very forgiving, supportive and funny you will love it here once you get to know us. Welcome and Join in to our daily threads!!
