I will take any and all meds I need during this pregnancy. It is hard enough just to be pregnant: I don't feel like tolerating unnessary pain if I can take something for it. This is from the girl who once again barely slept and only slept the little she did because I took sleep aids and accetomenaphine
I am looking forward to having this baby for all the normal reasons you can't wait for a baby to arrive. But one of the not normal reasons that I CANNOT WAIT is because I really, really, really want to enjoy a few margaritas. Like to the point of actual drunkenness. I can't wait to get my body back and do the adult things I look forward to in the summertime.
DH has already been prepped with the "you will stay sober and tend to the baby and me so I can relax by the fire pit and have some margaritas." I don't even mind the extra work I'll have to put in to make sure nursing/pumping is sufficient to prepare for said fiesta to occur.
It's not even about the drinking, it's about the freedom to drink without harm to another.
@LadyFleck margaritas have been one of my strongest cravings this whole pregnancy so I'm right there with you.
My UO: I'm not ready to not be pregnant anymore. I think this comes from not having everything ready but I'm basically panicking 24/7 just thinking about it lol

Ha! Opposite! I am so ready to not be pregnant anymore! It's amazing how nature drags this whole thing out just long enough to turn us from pregnancy-loving, glowing little mamas, to heinously uncomfortable messes who just want it to end at just the right time to not fear labor anymore. I want this baby to cook a bit longer for sure, but if I knew she'd be healthy and safe if she were born today, I'd start doing jumping jacks now.
I don't mind the term "we're pregnant" anymore. Yes, I have a lot more to deal with than MH, but he also has to deal with new stuff too from me. Considering he's my top support person, he's in it just as much as I am.
I don't agree with the trend of telling young people to "follow their dreams" into adulthood. Or telling them they can do anything or be anything. We all have limitations and lack certain natural abilities and I don't think ignoring that fact is doing anyone any favors. Maybe because I'm a younger millennial and a high school teacher and I see way too many of my peers and students who don't know how to fail gracefully and make responsible decisions because no one has ever been honest with them that the world doesn't mold to their desires. I love to sing, but I could never be a pop star. I sang in choir and enjoyed it, but I understood that music was not a realistic career pursuit for me. Good for a hobby for me. I'm glad to have had realistic and honest adults in my life who encouraged me to find my skills and learn to use them and be responsible. Passion is important, but some dreams are not realistic and only lead to disillusioned and frustrated people who don't understand why they aren't finding success in their dreams. I have so many students who think they are going to make millions being gamers or Youtubers and people are legitimately allowing them to believe that and now they aren't trying to learn any other skills. I've become the dream-crusher in my classroom, but seriously, why have we even allowed a generation to grow up this way? No wonder my generation is called the entitlement generation and aren't taken seriously. Ugh. Sorry, soapbox.

@Kellyj103 how about a few months back, "oh, you're pregnant"? My reply to mess with them, "no, I'm just fat" their faces were priceless! Stupid question, equally stupid answer!
@LadyFleck I had a dream that my family wanted to eat at some place called the margarita shack and I flipped because I was pregnant and couldn't have any haha. So excited to get one after this babe comes out!
I don't understand why people feel the need to post shit on FB about their religion and political beliefs. Facebook is a place to be social and share your life with friends. I don't give a crap who you do or don't worship or which candidate you support. I CERTAINLY don't feel influenced by those posts to change my viewpoint. It's annoying. Stop it.

For some people, their religious views are a part of their life worth sharing. Don't get me wrong, I get annoyed and will occasionally unfollow people who aggressively shove things in my face via newsfeeds, but I think oftentimes it's about sharing with, not changing others. Like, "I feel great about this!", not "WORSHIP MY GOD!"
At least, when it comes to the religious stuff, that is. The political stuff can go either way and feels like it oftentimes is more about influencing others than being excited about a topic/candidate. I just log off when it gets annoying.

@LadyFleck Honestly, I am not particularly religious but a lot of the posts I'm seeing come off as preachy or condescending to others who don't share their beliefs. I have most of those people blocked from my newsfeed but occasionally I will go to their pages to see how they're doing. I think posting 5 or 6 bible verses about how sinners will reap what they sow is just a little too much for me.

@winnie1122 I agree that "Follow your dreams, you can do anything" is the wrong advice. More like "Drudge through the drudgery for weeks, months, and years developing whatever 'natural talent' you have into a tangible skill, doing what you have to do to make ends meat in the meantime." Not that our generation and kids can't do anything, just that natural talent doesn't morph into success overnight and having a realistic expectation of lots of hard work without immediate reward is key.
Probably an UO- I think it's okay to choose money over happiness sometimes. I've had cool start up jobs downtown and big corporate cubicle farm jobs (2 of each now in my career). While the start up jobs with flex hours, beer on tap, and dogs in the office are more fun, I think there's a time for everything and sometimes it's more important to have the cash in hand and take the soul-sucking cube farm job. Of course switching back and forth every few years and doing a little of each makes for a good happy medium, but I am aware that I'm sacrificing daily happiness and fun for money and selling my soul to the corporate devil at the moment.
UO: The chart below is all well and good when it comes to trimesters. But you cannot use the range of weeks to say how many months along you are.
I see people at 31 weeks saying they're 8 months pregnant. Nope. That's not how it works. How can you have 9 weeks left, but also only have one month left?
I'm 31 weeks and I'm just over 7 months pregnant. If you look at the first row in the chart -- it says week 1-4 is month one. Does that mean you are 1 month pregnant when you're 1 week pregnant? Um... nope.
The chart shows what month you're currently IN, meaning what month you're progressing toward. You aren't that many months along until you hit that last number in the range. So you're 7 months pregnant at 30 weeks, 8 months pregnant at 35 weeks and 9 months pregnant at the very end, 40 weeks.
Other easy ways to calculate this are to count how many months are left until your due date, or to count the months since your last period.
Now I also realize, who the F cares. If you want to say you're 8 months pregnant because you feel that way or want to skip people saying "You have a ways to go!" then yeah, go ahead with your bad self. But there aren't 10 months in a pregnancy, and also, math.
I'm all for not hearing of anything religion related on my fb at all. Mostly because appropriation, and find it pretty insensitive that others think I need to be privy to read about it. Unless, you're cool with me posting articles about child sized handcuffs when they pulled Native American children away from their families because of "religion". So no I don't give two cents about your need to share.
@mandyjulie yesssss. My inner OCD, control freak nature feels too strongly about this haha. How I explained it to someone was "I'm in my 27th year of life, but I won't be '27 years old' until I complete that year". Just like when my baby is born, it will be his first year, but he's not 1 until the year is over!
And yes, it doesn't really matter. But it does to me haha.
I will take any and all meds I need during this pregnancy. It is hard enough just to be pregnant: I don't feel like tolerating unnessary pain if I can take something for it. It's nice to hear from someone else who has had to take meds during pregnancy. I've had to take a lot due to having HG, and many people try to make you feel inadequate for having to do so. I'm just trying to keep myself and my babies alive and happy!
I really hate when people try to be overly polite when driving. I don't mean common courtesies like letting someone merge into a lane or leaving a gap so someone can pull out in stopped traffic. But more like when car A has the right of way, but stops to let car B turn. I feel like it confuses everyone since you're not following the rules of the road and it annoys the shit out of me. I get that car A is just being polite, but you're causing more confusion, just gooooo!
@mandyjulie they do consider pregnancy to be 10 months. My SIL is a sonographer and they refer to full term pregnancies as 10 months. I attached an article about it below.
@megstervt haha - "just gooooo!" is the line that I constantly use in my car all the friggin time in reference to the annoying drivers in front of me who go extra slow, don't know how to drive or being extra 'polite'. Yes, my name is Simplymizzj. And I have road rage.
@YeezusButters YES thank you for posting this! Today ALL my FB was the same sappy re-postings about Bernie Sanders (Oregon's primary is next week). Hey, nothin' wrong with the guy, love the passion, but WHY must we all post the same damn political FB stuff. I literally did not have one non-political update to read/judge this morning.
I don't particularly like the feeling of baby moving inside. It genuinely creeps me out when I feel a hand or foot move across my stomach, not like a little job. Half the time it feels like he's going to burst out through my stomach like that scene in Alien.

Try living in NH when all the politics happen. First state to deal with all the bs every time.
I don't want to tag everyone but I'll try and brain dump:
- You can refuse the Hep shot and have it done with the other vaccines. My pediatrician said he's fine with this option, as I know I have not contracted hepatitis during this pregnancy. - I'm coming up on 33 weeks and saying I'm "in my 8th month". It's easier to say I'm 7 1/2 months pregnant. I agree that 4 weeks do not equal a month, however. - I think we should teach kids that they can work hard to achieve their goals. It's a more realistic message than "you can be anything." I'm a teacher, some of these kids aren't actually capable of becoming an astronaut or president. Some of them are.
@mandyjulie I gave up explaining this to people. I've had way too many people tell me the chart is wrong and they have their own calculations as to how many months I am. When they ask I just tell them how many weeks I am and they can figure it out. Or just look at me. I'm huge and will pop in July, any more questions?
@mandyjulie anytime I say to someone how many weeks I am, they just look at me like they have no idea what I'm talking about. So I tend to stick with "I'm in my 8th month" and that seems to make more sense to them. You would think that people could just math, but no.
I tell people how many weeks I am but I also do the math for them and say how many weeks left I have. People seem to get that, especially people who have not had children before.
My UO today: I want to throat punch people who create long Excel spreadsheet who do not "freeze panes" at the top so the titles of columns stay in place as you scroll through the worksheet. I don't have enough brain capacity to remember what the data in the column means unless it's in my face.
For those of you not familiar with Excel, feel free to ignore me.
My UO. As I creep through the other BMB's birth announcements, I don't like the ones that don't include a picture. I Understand Internet safety and all that, but I really just like a picture to round out the announcement.
My UO, this may be more of a confession, but I am having a really hard time not associating the siggys with the poster. Meaning, I keep thinking of the person in the picture of your siggy as you when you post (even though I know that isn't true). It's creeping me out.

I would rather see Bernie Sanders on my news feed than Trump.
