My EBF boy only poops 1-2 times a week. It always looks "normal" but when I tell people he only poops that often they act shocked. So my question is how often does your EBF LO poop?
Every day or every other day for my LO (2.5mos). As long as LO is gaining appropriately, I think it's still in the range of normal to only be a couple times a week.
DS was going daily (or more) until last week. He went 7 days until pooping and then it was explosive (twice). Since then he hasn't pooped again (three days). But my pediatrician said it's completely within normal range for EBF babies to go up to 10 days without going.
Mine LO has like 2 or 3 good ones in a day. I joke with my husband that she's got her daddy's #2 schedule. And she really likes to have blowouts when we go to restaurants. :-/
DS has at least 3 decent ones a day. I call him Mr. Poops because of how many times he has a poopy diaper. If we are out and about I have to make sure we have 3 outfits in his diaper bag because when he goes they usually are not contained.
14 weeks old. My LO likes to keep me guessing. Sometimes he'll have multiple BMs in one day, sometimes he goes days in between (his record is 10 days so far). Never seems uncomfortable or strains to go, so on those long stretches he's just using up all the milk!

Mine always does hers when she's in her car seat or in her bouncer so it goes up her front. Plus she has this onesie that she has pooped on literally every time she's worn it
@ashton2190 Car seat blowouts are the WORST!! We were on our way home from church and I pulled her out. I put my hand under her bottom to carry her and she was dripping! I learned then how to pull apart the car seat to wash. And I had to get Clorox wipes to clean the buckle part because it has seeped down into there too! :-P
My little guy is 10 weeks. He gives us probably 3+ poop diapers a day, plus plenty of wet farts (tiny bit of poop in the diaper but can't be called a proper poop diaper). Yesterday I went to my grandma's for maybe 4 o 5 hours. We went through 4 diapers, 2 of them poopy. Dang boy.
My LO poops around the same 1-2 times a week, I saw somewhere that breastfed babies poop less frequently than formula fed. But if baby goes more then 5 days to call someone. He has made it to 3 days without pooping but when he lets go lol
Interesting to see how much it varies...mine goes multiple times a day...she's already had 2 good ones today and I expect a couple more...usually has sharts too...very rare to have a straight pee diaper!
It's my understanding that they become much more effective at processing the breast milk around 2 months old and don't need to poop as often. My LO will go twice a day for a day or two, then nothing for 3 days.
Of course after I say every or every other day, she poops 6x in the last 2 days.
For the car seat blowout moms, I feel for you. DD1 pooped in the car seat every. single. time! It was ridiculous. Thabkfully, she was really small, so she didn't outgrow the infant insert in her car seat until she was over 4 months, which made it much easier to pop out and wash.
DD is 11 weeks and she poops every 4 or 5 days. And when she goes, she GOES. Nice yellow stains that don't come out. Anyone have any good tips on how they get the stain out?
Soak it in the sink with a little detergent, then stick it in the washing machine as usual. Got all the stains out of ours.
Having said my LO goes every 3 day, I did baby massage yesterday, focusing on the tummy this week, and she went three times lol! Including one whilst DH was changing her - all over the mat and his shorts hehe! So, do some massage if she hasn't been, apparently it works wonders!
I've had a couple stains that didn't come out in the wash. I found 2 things to get them out. Wash with dish washing liquid before putting in the laundry works most of the time for us. If not lay the garment in the sun and it comes right out!!
My LO poops every other day at most and sometimes twice or three times during those days. He doesn't seem in any pain and it always looks normal. However, he does eat ALOT and makes up for it in a TON of pee diapers.
Edited to add: When he does poop, DH and I are probably the only parents who are happy to clean up the mess since its not a multiple time a day event.
