Please post a little about yourself, your EDD (if it’s not listed below), any upcoming appointments, symptoms, etc. Feel free to also share your IF journey, I know many of us can relate.

QOTW:
What has been your favourite vacation?

Last week was a tough week. Was back in the hospital for fluids and this time food through a tube too.
Due to an accident when I was little the tube didn't fit through my noise, the doctor thought a button on my stomach was a bit drastic food got given through IV.
Home again, and hope as I'm 12+3 that I'm soon past the worse!

QOTW: I don't think I can choose, as I loved every one of them...but I think it was the one on my 11th birthday. My dad decided not to pick my sister and I up for his week, and my mum was ready to go on her holiday with my stepdad to Italy.
My stepdad didn't hesitated once, arranged an extra tent and of he drove to Italy with to crying girls in the backseat and a pissed off mum in the front.
Once our tears dried it was the best ever vacation. Nothing was planned, but we had the most of fun!

I am so so sorry @tvh1982 , I really hope that second trimester will treat you better and you can enjoy your pregnancy soon without the hospital visits and IV.

I am 12 weeks today! I had my NT scan last Thursday and the measurements looked well. The LO was jumping, kicking and doing some crazy dance moves for us so it was so much fun to watch. I cannot believe that is happening inside me :) We started to tell our good friends and as we tell people it starts to feel more real. My fatigue is definitely subsiding and nausea is bearable as long as I eat (like all the time).

QOTW: It is hard to choose, I love traveling (though I cannot travel as much as I want). I guess the most important travel of my life was backpacking through Australia by myself when I was 20. It was such an amazing opportunity to learn myself, my capabilities and boundaries. Also, I saw amazing places and met fantastic people.

  • tvh1982  - hope you are feeling better soon!

I am 5 1/2 weeks. EDD is 12/28/16.  Just had my first ultrasound this morning with RE. Everything looked good and hopefully next week we will see the hearbeat! I'm not really feeling many symptoms yet besides begin tired and my sense of smell is definitely stronger. When did you ladies really start feeling your symptoms?

QOTW: That's so hard... I love to travel and which I could spend more time. I went to Ireland a few years ago and just fell in love with it. I could live there for sure! Some of my other favorites are Hawaii (I got married there), Austria and Germany.

@griffin5413, my symptoms came slowly in week 6, and by week 7 I was full on nausea and exhausted.
Think my sense of smell came around 5 weeks too.

@tvh1982 I'm sorry you are having a tough time. I hope things get better for you.

We had a our NT scan last Friday. I thought all was well until the doctor kept scan the same area for a while. I knew something was wrong. She said in some ultrasound views, the baby's stomach, the location of it looked slightly high. I asked what that meant. She is concern that there is a possibility of congenial diaphragmatic hernia. It is when diaphragm between stomach and lungs is not fully formed. If that is the case stomach will take over lung space and lung can not form. Infant born to this have a 50/50 mortality rate. She said it is too early to tell if this is definite as the baby is still small and they can't see everything clearly. We will need to go back in 3 weeks for another ultra sound. We are praying that everything will be okay in our next ultrasound. It will be a long 3 weeks.

It is mind numbing to think of all the what if senerios. I feel like I have to prepare myself. If this all come true, I don't think I can do this IVF again. My story will end here...

@Griffin5413 I am 12 weeks now and I never had food aversion or terrible nausea to vomit. I have to eat snacks, every few hours to stop my nausea though. It has been on and off.  I had fatigue at nights so that I had to go to bed early, and it was important for me. So do not panic if you do not have any extreme symptoms, it is completely normal too !! and I feel lucky this way:)

  • @JustLilOMe I am so sorry to hear that. I'm praying that your next scan will the baby is fine.

I was supposed to have my NT scan today, but had to reschedule. My midwife gave me a referral to the wrong place and insurance won't cover. So now it's rescheduled for next Thursday. I was really looking forward to seeing my baby today, but I guess I'll have to wait. In the meantime, I'll continue to listen to his/her heartbeat on my doppler.

I started feeling pregnancy symptoms around 5-6 weeks. I thought it started getting better around 10 weeks, but now it feels like its gotten worse and I'm 11 weeks 3 days. I could barely eat the last couple days. Yesterday morning I had a bagel and it made me vomit.

We we are planning to tell my husband's family this Sunday on Mother's Day. Too bad we won't have an updated ultrasound picture to share.

Hello everyone - thought I'd have a stab at the boards again... even went so far as to get myself a ticker thing (always wanted to try it out). Don't know if it suits my IF brain yet though :open_mouth:

I am sorry to read about your worries and what you've been through @tvh1982and @JustLilOMe
It's like the despair is never over, isn't it? I hope you can breeze past this too and not look back.

Most of what there is to know about me is below in the sig, but I guess the important thing is that I made it to the 7wk mark after 2+ years and extreme duress. Standard morning (all day) sickness and some emesis, but that hardly matters. Just had my first official dating U/S today and got to hear it's heartbeat. My own is around 65bpm so the FHR sounded strong at 128bpm (proud).

My husband will be mostly absent throughout my pregnancy here and my mom passed away in December, so I figured I'd find solidarity on the boards.

@mskeenan - I don't know if you remember me from a discussion (quite a while ago) about low betas, but it's nice to see you again :) I'm very pleased to learn you've got your BFP and are so far along!

    @Rachd110 - That's a great mother's day idea! His family won't ever forget it :)

QOTW: Tokyo + Seoul two years ago. Awesome people. Korean fried chicken + beer = amazing. Best, best, best time ever.

It was very cool to see the baby wiggling around and we got to see little arms and legs. I am going to stay on the crinone until 10 weeks. After next week, I am not sure how I'm gonna go without seeing the baby on a weekly basis, definitely spoiled by these weekly appointments!

@capps42613 I'm just curious, did you have thyroid issues before getting pregnant? For weeks 5-7 I was freakishly cold all the time, which got me worried about pregnancy-induced hypothyroidism. I feel fine, now, but I am still wondering about it, might ask PCP to test me.

I'm praying for @JustLilOMe and @tvh1982 i really hope things get better!

QOTW: Dakar, Senegal. It wasn't as cushy as some of the lovely Euro trips I've done because I was doing a 24/7 immersion living with a host family. *but* the cultural experiences I had were amazing and was the most sentimental and emotional trip for me by far. I am on thyroid medicine and I was wondering if I should have my OB run bloodwork to check it and make sure it is still under control or if they are going to need to adjust my levothoroxine. I think you mentioned that it was pretty immediate for you?

  • @kuposa17 I was diagnosed while I was being worked up for infertility. Who knows how long I was actually living with it? Doesn't hurt to ask!

@griffin5413 yes, when I went back in for my 2nd beta they retested it because pregnancy causes all types of hormones to go out of whack. They were surprised that mine had doubled so quickly. I've been on an increased dose since beta and it will be rechecked when I get my bloodwork done on Monday. I'd definitely have a conversation with your RE/OB about it.

@kuposa17 and @Griffin5413 I would ask your RE if you are still with him/her and, if not, your OB v. a PCP. They wants your TSH levels lower when you are pregnant, so you want to make sure your level is in the correct range. I was being treated for hypothyroidism before seeing an RE, my RE wanted my TSH levels lower than the typical "normal" range, and, similar to @capps42613, about one week after my BFP (4w5d), my TSH levels jumped from 1.3 to 4.9 (my RE was also surprised at the rapid increase). My dose was increased, and I was retested 7w5d, 15 weeks, and will be again next week (27w5d).

    Thank you ladies.
I had to go back to the hospital on Tuesday and am going home in a few hours.
In good hands every time, just sucks as the IV doesn't stick, so they have to replace it every so often. My hands are nice blue and yellow
To avoid having me to stay over I'll pop by the hospital a little more often to just get topped up with fluids. And hopefully I'm well enough for my week holiday next week!
Being 13 weeks tomorrow they hope they see less of me here.
Do get to see my baby more often, which is my Silver lining

@babblingbrookey Congratulations ! I also look at November BMB once a while and I understand that it is hard to relate to many things discussed. But as time progress, it gets useful on practical issues such as what to buy, how to travel ,how to deal with insurance about some tests etc. I do not participate much, but I learn some new things especially from experienced mothers.
