As much as I want LO to be here and OB thinks she will probably come early, I really do not want her born in May with emerald birthstone. DH and I both hate the color green and if her bday is in May our family colors would be Christmas. DH: crimson mine: diamond.
39 weeks today and about to dig in to 5lbs of pineapple....
I eat pineapple every single morning, is that bad?? It's in my green smoothie I make that makes me feel super hydrated: banana, pineapple, coconut water, and spinach. It's yummy.

I can't find one little boy outfit that I actually think is remotely cute. We are team green so we have the basics in neutral colors, but I can't wait to find out the sex at birth to get some girl or boy clothes. I sit here some days and browse and I can fill a cart with little girl stuff but the boy stuff truly blows. I can't stand the little cheesy sayings and so much of the boy stuff is so flippin preppy. If I ever dressed my son in that stuff and my husband found out he'd literally jump off the ship and swim home from deployment. Sorry baby, if you're a boy youre going to be wearing a lot of the plain clothes.
Cute boy clothes are hard but not impossible, I promise! I love Splendid (gilt usually has a good sale a few times a year and the splendid site was just doing a promotion), mini boden, baby gap, and for when they're older jcrew's crew cuts is great. I got DS2 this outfit. It's pretty neutral but Hanna Andersson stuff wears really well and is so soft.
@pooputtetteI can't hate on any birthstone since I was born in August. I feel like I got the worst of the worst - peridot. Anything is better than peridot.
@clw617 I doubt it is bad to have a some pineapple in a smoothie everyday. It's an OWT that eating LOTS of pineapple can induce labor/help to soften and dilate the cervix.
I must now confess that eating 5lbs of pineapple is extremely difficult. My H basically dared me that I can't do it though so I'm not giving up without a fight. I've had 1/4 of it and I'm determined to get through at least 1/2...
@pooputtette - I feel the same way! I don't own anything green, or anything that goes with green honestly. I'd love a birthstone ring or necklace but that will really throw it off!
Another FFFC - lately I've been questioning whether we chose the right name for LO...
I'm sitting here on the couch bumping while my mother is washing my walls throughout my house. ((I don't feel good about it))
When my mom gets here on the 4th she has a to do list. Granted, she asked for one, she's not good about sitting around doing nothing and she knows I'm just a big swollen blob of water retention and baby. I'm even having her make her own bed to sleep in, I washed the sheets, that took it right out of me. She's going to refinish my dining room table since DH got deployed three months longer/before was originally planned, and then she's going to wipe down my walls and baseboards, clean the bath and showers, and walk my dogs. Thank God for moms.

You can do it! I ate an entire pineapple last week in one sitting and the week before in one sitting. I just couldn't stop, it wasn't for labor purposes. I just followed a whole pineapple by a handful of tums on both occasions.

I'm a little nervous that I'm not 100% committed to the name we chose too... but I'm really hoping when he's born I have a definite feeling that this is it or this is wrong. But husband IS sure so that throws me a bit. Is there another name you think you might prefer or are you just not completely sold on the one you already agreed on?

Thank God for moms, indeed! I'm so glad she'll be there to help you.

YES! This is exactly how I feel. Peridot is the worst.
(edited to say that I'm also an August baby, so I'm allowed to be a hater!)

Aaaaaand same here. I've more or less made my peace with it, but I'd rather have the emerald instead. Or better yet, sapphire.

In the very least it should help you with pooping!

Feeling that also. But I think I'd feel like that with whatever name we chose. I'm so bad at making decisions...
@LadySamLady and @ncm0328 - I ate a large cantaloupe in one sitting a few months ago. No judgment here
@babyfmama - There's no other names we liked as much as the one we chose. DH started calling LO by the chosen name before we found out we were having a boy, and it stuck. It's not like a nickname that you can change easily - he's got this name for life unless he files for extensive name changes I guess that's what I'm a little worried about.
I live a block from work, so I pretty much always walk. When I was headed back after lunch today, I made it to the sidewalk before realizing I was still in my slippers. Honest to god, I stared down at my feet for a good 30 seconds trying to figure out if it was worth going all the way back up the stairs to change. I did, but it was damn close.
I was ordering DD's cake for her birthday party on Sunday and I was seriously contemplating getting a huge cake just so I could have half of it to myself after the party. I talked myself out of it, but now I may get some cupcakes in addition to the cake and pretend it's because that's what DD wanted.
@vinerie yeah I think I just can't commit until he's here because I feel like we chose our favorite of the names we discussed and it's too nebulous of a concept for me to get on board with until he's here.
@rlworzalla same with the name we chose. I guess he could always go by his middle name!
5. I hate pumping. Mainly b/c I'm not coordinated. I have to hold the things on there and turn the machine on andsomehow I'm supposed to also massage my boobs at the same time??????? I feel like I need five hands. If I do one at a time, the other boob gets jealous and leaks all over lol Probably TMI. I hope LO gets the hang of nursing soon. We tried itth other day. She hasa hard time b/c of being a preemie. But she knew what she was supposed to do. Oh and razor sharp fingernails digging into your boobs is like ouchie lol
If you get a hands free pumping bra it will help out a lot. You can make one by just cutting quarter size holes in an old bra or buy one. I used one made my medela that zips in front so I don't have to take off my nursing bra if I don't want to (you can get it off amazon or at babies r us for sure). It makes pumping so much easier.
Get me out of this box. I have seen those but can't find in my size. I need a 48d. I can usually find cup sizes okay but the number part is the hard part. I can't even find a nursing bra. I don't want to order online bc Id need to try it on first.
@nerdymama15 I wear a 46DD and I love the "plus size seamless nursing bra" from Motherhood Maternity. I ordered online because I don't live close to one to try on. They have a deal where you can buy 3 get the 4th free. I did go inside the store this past weekend because I was close to one and also because they sold out of my size (3x) online. They had it available in the store and told me that they could order more from their warehouse if I needed. I find these to be very comfortable and I wear mine on the first or second set of hooks. There's no underwire so if you require one these won't work. Good luck.
It is 10:29pm and my 2.5year old son is force spoon feeding me homemade chocolate pudding that I had put in the fridge to set for a recipe. I swore I put the gate up, but apparently he found his way downstairs, went into the fridge, got the pudding and a spoon and decided I needed some. He is surprisingly not covered in pudding so I am cautiously optimistic that all is well, but just texted MH to let him know the kitchen has been explored by a curious and extremely capable toddler.
There's only one word to describe my mood: bad. I have been a monster tonight but I'm F'ing miserable. I hit a wall today and am hoping I can find some way to adjust this attitude.
I know it's Saturday, but this happened yesterday:
I really love the Bob Marley song "Buffalo Soldier" ever since I used to play it to my students when I taught Texas History (it's a thing, Google it). For some reason my DH can't stand it when I sing it, so I told him yesterday that I'm going to sing it to Dante as a lullaby all the time and he's going to love it! I think it's a legit good lullaby, too!
Now I think I'll pull it up on YouTube to annoy him....
Last night I got really bummed and sad because DH said "next time we'll have twins." I've been trying to hop on this man for over a month. A MONTH! Fricken prudes libido is ice cold. No action in a long time can make me cranky, so when he mentioned the next pregnancy, I guess my reaction was like "great, so now we're only using the funbits to reproduce." Major eye roll.
With being 9 months pregnant and everything physically pushed to the max, I'm feeling the opposite of sexy. I need to slip him some viagra in his beer.
@LemmyRN no chance of convincing him that you need his...um.... material to help get your cervix ready?
That's part of my problem. He thinks his D is magic and the second he touches me with it I'll go into labor. He's been such a procrastinator and still has a list of things he "thinks" he needs done prior to the baby's arrival. Part of owning a home is that it'll never be finished, there will always be something. I told him if he misses the window and we have her it'll be 6 weeks till we can be intimate; he's not bothered, did a shoulder shrug... So I may kill him.

Dh and I haven't had sex since xmas. I'm done trying. I don't know if he is just lazy or not attracted to me now, but when I told him we can't have sex until July-ish I also got a shrug. I think Harper is gonna be an only child at this rate.
They had to move my IV since this is day 5, and they inserted it right where the bend is on my wrist... Wahhh. It bothers me no matter what I do. I'm such a baby.
