Re: Symptoms Thread 4/19

  • Does anyone else who's starting to show get super bloated after eating? I'm showing if I wear something form fitting. After eating lunch, I can't hide my stomach at all. It's awful. But the end of the day I look like I'm 6 months+. I haven't told most of the people I work with so they all just think I'm getting fat.

Yes, I posted about this yesterday but can't remember which thread. I feel HUGE. Especially after I eat.

  • Only had nausea but not actually "sick" in the first trimester. However, today 16weeks +6days I went to work and vomitted when I arrived. Nothing has changed in diet and no fever. I'm thoroughly confused!!!
  • I've been up since 630 and I've peed at least 15 times. not just a little but like full bladder pees. send help.
  • @mrszoess I have that issue right before bedtime and it is so annoying =/ PS I will be scouting out somebody to wax me today! Haha

@afry613 I always puked randomly and not necessarily when I was nauseous as well. That's gone away now finally though. I'm 17 weeks now for reference.
  • @allythekid my waxer had surgery and can't get
me in til the 11! help! lol
  • Stabbing in nipple. Ouch!
  • @mrszoess , I'm with you on the peeing.  It gets so bad at night when I'm laying in bed, I go about 6x in an hour before I can get to sleep.  It's also bad when I'm standing up walking around.... It's not so bad when I'm seated.

@kmolleltz I try my darndest to sleep on my left side or my right...but find myself on my back when I wake up!  Kinda makes me so paranoid.

I'm slightly freaking out because I bought a bathroom scale to monitor my weight gain.  At the last appointment, my OB was like "hmmm you haven't gained weight at all, but that's okay.  Nothing to worry about yet."  My next appointment is on Friday, and I've been weighing myself every morning to see if I'm gaining like I should be---and I haven't.  I lost 3 lbs and I know I'm going to get a lecture from my doctor this Friday.  It's not like I'm not eating all the things.  Must step up my ice cream game, and my taco game.  Eat all the tacos before Friday.
  • @annabenanna You can take some of my weight gain. I'm eating exactly the amount of cals/carbs I was told to and I feel like I'm packing them on by the minute!

  • @MRSCORKER , i'll take it!  I know I should be eating an extra 500 calories a day....and I feel like I do!  But I think my downfall is that I tend to skip breakfast... I have coffee at 8am... then just have my lunch early at like 1030AM or 11AM....another small meal at 3pm, like a bagel with cream cheese...then dinner at 8.  But I'm eating fruit in between!  I need to inject an extra meal in there somewhere...maybe at like 10pm before bed. HA.  A meal of ice cream.
  • Dude seriously- if your OB isn't worried about weight gain (either direction) then you shouldn't be either. I'm still down 5 pounds since pre-pregnancy, and my OB is all "yay you aren't using pregnancy as an excuse to eat all the things." From experience, you really do gain it ALLLL back (with interest) in third tri. Just saying cuz you might regret those tacos later (I kid... no one regrets tacos). But you really do gain it ALL back plus some.
  • You're right @NoraAurora , I shouldn't worry too much, I'll probably be worrying about TOO much weight gain in just a few weeks.  Ha.
  • @annabenanna I am overweight and I've lost 8lbs. I don't know if gaining is ever going to happen for me and  I'm ok with it. I lose more weight pregnant than not
  • @annabenanna I also am not gaining any weight, though I am gaining girth by the day! Luckily I had a bit of cushion to begin with, so I'm not underweight PER SE. But I am actually commenting because I have a theory. I have been the exact same weight for 10 years. It doesn't matter how much I eat or how much I exercise - always within a couple pounds. I heard that it's genetic how much weight your body WANTS to have and I think my body found that weight and wants to stick to it. Body doesn't care that I'm pregnant - staying the same! This past week I have intentionally tried to up my food intake, with the only results being a really full stomach and three BMs per day. My next appointment is May 10th, which is about the time it will become a problem, so I am definitely going to ask if nothing's changed by then. Let us know what your doctor says!

  • @books&icecream that's a pretty good theory.  I feel like as long as my baby is gaining weight and growing, as long as I'm eating and drinking my vitamins---it should be fine!  My belly is still growing, after all!
  • I'm officially the heaviest I've ever been in my whole life. I gained about 9lbs between week 8 and week 13. I have no idea how as I don't feel like I'm eating much more than usual. It's got to be that I'm usually always on a "diet" with great willpower but now I give in to having dessert or something like that. My OB didn't mention it, so I guess it's okay. I am going to try to keep my total gain to 25lbs, so obviously need to watch it more seriously.

  • Going off track of the weight subject but is anyone already having breathing issues?! Im
so freaking winded ALL the time and it feels much the same as when I'm having a panic attack. Then my brain thinks Oh panic attack let's start doing our calming methods but wait that's not working because this isn't a panic attack. It's kind of making me insane! I just don't remember the lung issue coming this early on!

I have gotten really short of breath since early on. My OB said that it is because my heart rate is higher than usual during pregnancy (normal resting is 50ish bpm and now it's about 80 bpm) and even doing small activities makes my heart work faster

Same here. Walking up to our 3rd floor walk-up is a major work-out these days.

  • I get out of breath easily now but especially when doing my beginning of class announcements. My students must think I'm nuts going "Your final drafts *puff puff* are due on Friday night *panting* and next week *gasp* we'll finish our presentations *inhale* and review *pant pant* for the Final exam..."

@annabenanna I haven't gained weight either. No one has said anything, possible because I was "over" weight to start out with. And yes, I have gained girth like crazy! I think it would be nice if I never gained a pound and then suddenly lost 20-30 lbs of baby and amniotic fluid and found myself under where I started - or even if I lost everything I gained during pregnancy during birth and ended exactly where I started - but I have a feeling the pounds will find me.

@books&icecream Your body does have a set point, but I think rules fly out the window with pregnancy. I am deeply jealous of your 3 BMs a day, however. I'm going about once every three days and becoming quite miserable in between.

  • @RainMira9e , oh I would love to be pregnant, and then after having baby come out skinny!  that woudl be a dream....but I feel like in the 3rd tri I'll be gaining so much weight!

My symptoms this week are:  sex dreams are gone. :(
  • Add me to the short of breath train. Especially walking stairs. I know it's my increased heart rate.

    TMI warning possible
I just had some pure white thick CM when I went to the bathroom. CM doesn't usually freak me out but this seemed different. Weird or not? Wondering if I should research it.

I wouldn't worry about the CM. I've had every consistency and color under the sun it seems like and it's never been anything ominous. We have so many hormones surging right now!

  • Count me in for feeling out of breath lately.  My midwife said my organs are getting pushed forward, crowding my lungs... I had to apologize to someone on the phone the other day after I made a short walk from my car to the door.. sad!
  • Ok at least I'm not the only one! The other day I was simply changing the laundry to the dryer and couldn't talk afterward, my 15 yo was like what the heck is wrong with you Mom?! Lol my son has asthma and was offering me his inhaler as well.
  • count me in on shortness of breath. I had a chest cold for like 10 days and that doubled it. I was doing some sorting at work with another employee (who doesn't know I'm pregnant) and she was like "why in the world are you breathing like that!" ....to which I blamed it on my chest cold...

  • Here's a funny story for you all... So last night, I had an appetite for once so we went to a steak house.  Got through dinner (of course while eating, my appetite disappeared) so I used the restroom to pee before we left the restaurant... Well, I started to dry heave and then proceeded to pee my pants............. awesome. I laughed at my self afterwards but omg it was so not fun.
  • oh my god wtf hot flashes? I haven't slept more than 45 min all night. I'm a mess. send help. (I also turned the heat to 65 so dh is shivering LOL)

I also have no appetite, I feel full all the time, yet I still weigh more than I've ever weighed in my life. When is the 2nd trimester gonna feel as good as everybody says?

It's basically a myth for some people. Sorry.

I coughed really hard last night and totally peed down my leg. Fortunately the only witness was my one year old, and he totally gets it so no sweat.
  • Joint pain is my newest neusance. I have plantar faciatis in my right foot, and now the ball of my foot and my ankle joined in on the fun. It's the worst after I've been sitting and I've learned to roll my ankles and push my foot against my desk to get some relief while at work, but the best part is in the middle of the night when I'm half asleep and forget how bad my foot will hurt and almost fall down on my way to pee.

  • My joints are doing very mean things to me. My hips feel like they are coming unhinged, detaching from my spine, and my lower back and knees feel like they have been packed with cotton balls. I literally feel like a puppet who has been oiled too much, is wobbly, and can fall at any given moment
  • Does anyone else's bump have a point just below the belly button?!
