3. Rants/raves: AF came with a vengeance on Friday so that made the weekend rough. But it was a beautiful weekend for once and I was able to do some work out in the yard and get things done. I also saw Stars on Ice over the weekend, which was lovely!
4. GTKY: What are your top five most influential albums? Oh goodness, I have no idea. I actually focus more on individual songs than albums.

3. Rants: Got a lil sunburn and turned on the AC already. I don't handle the heat well.
Raves: Had a great weekend! DH and I went for a long, long walk to Little India, did yoga, baked and cooked, lounged, started season 2 of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt; all good stuff and kept me from falling into the misery of the TWW.
Going to see my new family doctor for a pap tomorrow. Usually not a rave, but it turns out she's one of the only family doctors in Toronto who also specializes in obstetrics - so she delivers babies! I felt pretty abandoned by my midwife during my miscarriage, so I'm thankful to have a medical professional that is committed to my well being through all the process. She's young and friendly and was incredibly reassuring.
4. GTKY: What are your top five most influential albums?
I know it's a hard question, but in honour of just passed Record Store Day and because I love the introspection it requires. Life is so complicated and music really helps make that journey tolerable.
Bob Dylan's Blonde on Blonde - I've listened to this one more than any other; it must have been daily in my early twenties. His methamphetamine fueled poetic ramblings are something I now save for only the worst days and they always sooth my woes.
Kanye West's College Dropout - A man who seemed like he had so much to say. It's so humble, the topics so broad, his outlook so hopeful. I thought he could change the world and make it better when I heard this and I still do when I go back. A great disappointment for me philosophically speaking, though I think of him like Picasso or something - just going through a phase I'm not into.
Sufjan Stevens' Age of Adz - The last song is 25 minutes and is everything that I am. Weirdly prophetic in my life's course. It's about a break up, loosely speaking, but is so, so much more.
Beruit's Gulag Orkestrar - I grew up in an incredibly multicultural environment (Winnipeg's government housing) and developed a love of Balkan music from my best friend from the age of 15 - 17. She was a refugee from Kosovo and her moving is still one of the saddest days of my life. When I heard Beirut, it went straight to my heart and has stayed there ever since. DH and I saw them last fall at one of the best venues in Toronto and the acoustics were incredible.
Five fluctuates. I like to keep it open, as statistically speaking we stop experiencing and seeking out new music at 33 and I'm fast approaching and would like to avoid that. Right now, it's Crystal Castles II - An influential fling from the summer after I lost my best friend cemented this desolate album as life changing for me. I hate you, Orlando, but boy do I love this album.

3. Rave: I had such a great weekend! The weather was gorgeous, yoga was great, I walked lots and spent 3 hours scrubbing every single crevice of my vehicle so now it looks brand new again . DH and I spent time just enjoying each other's company and chatting and it was really nice to have some quality time.
Rant: This isn't really a rant, but while I'm handling AF and being out this cycle well, I am a little bummed that we officially will not have a baby born in 2016. At the same time I didn't have much faith that we would have a baby in 2016 anyway and actually in January I said to my mom that I felt 2016 wouldn't be the year I give birth.
4. I don't have any specific album(s) that I'd say were most influential. Mostly just individual songs. My taste of music is so eclectic, I like anything from The Beatles, to the Beibs, to NWA, to Luke Brayn and just about everything in between.

4. Oh man, tough one. I am a music fanatic. I won't go too much into the whys, but, in no particular order: Oasis, "Definitely Maybe," The Beatles, "Revolver," Joni Mitchell, "Ladies of the Canyon," Tori Amos, "Little Earthquakes," and hmm, let's say Weezer's "Blue Album." I need a top 25!
3. Rants/raves: I can't believe I tested this morning, I am rarely an early tester, but for some reason today is 13DPO and I felt the need. I've lost my mind, especially considering that I know we are doing IUI next cycle because of a sperm issue. The mind is amazing what it can talk itself into. Such is life and moving on!
4. GTKY: What are your top five most influential albums? Whoa this is really difficult, I'll name a few that are ones that were big during different times of my life.

3.Ben Harper ; By My Side

But, really atypical of my music interests recently, I can listen to The Shins' Wincing the Night Away top to bottom and leave a happy girl, any day

3. Rave #1: THIS WEATHER. We just had the most glorious weekend. I stayed outside for 90% of it. Painted furniture, went for a bike ride, a couple of long walks, and just felt productive.
Rave #2: I finally get to have a life again. Work/school since January has just kicked my butt over and over again. I don't have any big projects or huge, looming deadlines for the next few months (a few small ones, but nothing compared to what I've been having to keep up with).
4. What an excellent question. This will only take me 5 years to narrow it down to 5 albums, haha! So.....
1. Van Morrison Moondance - Into the Mystic is literally the first song I can remember listening to ever. My mom changed my diapers to this album, it was on my iPod when I first got my driver's license, and I connected with the first guy I fell in love with over this album. It's just one of those that's been there my whole life.
2. Milk Carton Kids Prologue - This got me through a pretty awful bout of depression a few years ago. Also, I love everything from the Milk Carton Kids.
3. Nickel Creek A Dotted Line - This is the album DH and I fell in love to. We would just put it on and ride around Mississippi backroads singing it at the top of our lungs. We also got to see them at the Ryman in Nashville. "Destination" was our "getting the heck out of Mississippi song".
4. Punch Brothers Phosphorescent Blues - This album came out right as we were finalizing our planned elopement. We ended up getting to see them at the festival later the day we got married. I will always remember listening to this winding through the Colorado Rockies to get to our wedding destination!
5. Arctic Monkeys Whatever People Say I am, That's What I'm Not - So this album came out right when I started to really define my style and how I wanted to present myself. It gave me a ton of confidence and inspiration towards growing who I am today.

3. Rants/raves: Well my grandmother passed away very early this morning. We knew it was coming, she was 96 and had a small stroke Wednesday. I was able to say my good bye's and then it was just a waiting game to see when she would pass. I am thankful for her life because without hers, mine wouldn't have been possible. We aren't having a funeral, just a catholic mass in June. Other than that, not much else going on here.
4. GTKY: What are your top five most influential albums? I don't usually fall in love with a complete album, or haven't in years. I love a wide range of music so for me, it's more about individual songs.
2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc.) CD 22 in my first medicated, TI cycle. Not sure exactly how many DPO I am. Trigger shot was April 8. Beta test scheduled for Friday.
3. Rants/raves: Had a fabulous weekend away with DH and friends to see Pearl Jam in Greenville, SC. Happy to be staying busy. Will leave tomorrow for ATL, returning home Thursday evening. Then BETA on FRIDAY!
Not sure how I feel on the scale of 0 to pregnant. Trying so hard not to get my hopes up, but if I am being honest, it is all I can think about.
4. GTKY: What are your top five most influential albums? Hard question, but just because it makes me choose!
a. Pearl Jam, Ten - one of the first CDs I ever purchased, made high school bearable, and I still love it to this day.
b. Indigo Girls, 1200 Curfews - I sang (loudly and so badly) at the top of my lungs to each of the songs on this double album. I just felt like they got it. The song "Ghost" helped me mend more than one broken teen-age heart.
c. Dave Matthews Band, Crash - essentially my college soundtrack, I can hear certain tracks and it takes me right back to the late 90s....
d. Outkast, Stankonia - while living in Atlanta, it was impossible to escape the influence of hip-hop, especially Big Boi and Andre3000. For months, I listened to this on repeat on my discman that plugged into the tape player in my car!
e. Jason Isbell, Something More Than Free - my most recent obsession. I saw him live the week after my last loss and his lyrics and general tone have deeply affected me. I listen to every song on this album and can make it mine. Cathartic.
Quick, I have to hit "post reply" before I change my mind!
Edit to add: I have to break the rules and add a sixth one: Modest Mouse, Good News for People Who Love Bad News. I found it in 2005 and that year was transformative for me in so many ways. This album, like the others was played in full and on repeat for months and months....

3. Rave (mostly) - I'm loving daily yoga (day 10 will be today) - I can see this becoming more of an obsession. And I'm out running (just over 3km straight last night). But because I've switched my exercise from cardio junkie to more strength/flexibility without changing food - I've gained some weight. But at least one muscle group or another has been sore all week so I should be building muscle and that will help in the long term. I just need to control my chocolate habit...
Rant - freakin' short LP - I'm off to the doctor on Wednesday to see if there is anything to be done at this point or if she thinks it is still a wait and see situation.
4. I don't focus much on specific albums as much as specific artists - or maybe songs. Most of the music I love is from my teenage years and/or undergraduate university - there haven't been many artists I've liked that are new...
There is one record that I love - that makes me feel all calm and nostalgic. I now have it digital but I fell in love with it on my grandparents wind up record player - funny story - I think when I play them on the record player I wind it too much because when I play the songs they're faster... Ames Brothers - the songs are Sentimental Me and Rag Mop. My dad told me that my Pop would play songs on the record player to my Grandma while they were courting - I think it may have taken trips in a canoe and maybe even fallen overboard (but I can't remember that part very well). I have the record player and some records in my walk in closet. Unfortunately DH doesn't like those two songs - he doesn't have the connection that I do. I never met my Pop - and my paternal grandmother died before I was old enough to remember her. But I know that she doted on me - and Pop would have too - I was/am their only grandchild and they both adored children.

Their first album Under the Table and Dreaming was good too- I love their song Satellite from that album. Before that I had a Rap/R & B phase- I remember the first CDs I ever bought were Bone Thugs and Harmony E. 1999 Eternal, Boyz II Men- II, TLC Crazy Sexy Cool and Fugees- The Score (Clearly my parents did not monitor what I was listening when I was in middle school lol).

my beta Friday was 26. I skipped the 48 hour yesterday because of the bleeding I just assumed no need. She is having me repeat it today to see what I'm at and then maybe need and ultrasound. They definitely think this was a new pregnancy from after my d&c we just don't know what's going on anymore
2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc.) Benched? Nobody gave me clear instructions and all my labs are negative so just waiting for first AF after D&C....except we've not really been good about try to avoid so...whatever happens happens I guess?
3. Rants/raves: My recurrent loss panel is completely normal so I'm glad there's nothing wrong with me, but I still feel the need to fix something. I guess these losses were chromosomal, so I'm more hopeful that the third time will be the charm. I'm super happy about the warm weather and sunshine, which has totally helped lift my mini-depression I've had. Overall I'm just feeling more hopeful nowadays.
4. GTKY: What are your top five most influential albums? Yikes! What a hard question...
1. Our Lady Peace-Clumsy: Wore out the CD listening on repeat during high school.
2. Everclear-So Much for the Afterglow: The first rock album I owned (I won it in a radio station contest), more sentimental to me than influential I suppose...
3. In Flames-Reroute to Remain: Yeah, I like Swedish death metal sometimes...
4. Green Day-American Idiot
5. Pink Floyd-The Wall
@snobunniemel I'm so sorry.
@aera11 I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother. :-(
2. Finally off the bench- we'll see how this goes.. CD1..
3. Tired of baptisms, babies due any day, and all that garbage. right after my m/c my boss quit and 2 weeks later, they moved a 6 month pregnant girl randomly into her old seat, due 3 weeks before I was. I felt that was life getting me between the eyes a little, I mean really?
4. Weezer - blue album
Muse - black holes and revelations
i know more but those two are my stand out faves.
@fivetimesnoluck, I'm on a huge Jason Isbell kick lately. His songs are so emotional.
2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc.): Benched for 4+ weeks while I wait for D&E (tomorrow) and then wait to see an RE and then wait for a period... lots of waiting. Feeling a bit better emotionally this morning. This was the first morning in 5 days without tears.
3. Rants/raves: H and I went for a long bike ride yesterday and it really cheered me up, even if only temporarily. I'm glad it's nice enough now that we can do stuff like that.
4. GTKY: What are your top five most influential albums?
H and I have a huge collection of albums from the late 60s/early 70s from his mom, and it includes just about all the big ones (Beatles, Dylan, Crosby Stills & Nash, etc.) I feel so lucky to have them. In no particular order:
1. Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young: Deja Vu - one of my favorite albums and it always makes me happy.
2. Joe Walsh: The Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get - another pick-me-up album that reminds me of campfires and road trips with my husband.
3. The Avett Brothers: Mignonette - H and I were long distance our whole first year of dating and this was our album. Our first dance was to Swept Away (sentimental version).
4. Tom Petty - I can't pick an album because I listen to the greatest hits, but Tom Petty may be my favorite artist. This is my summertime music.
5. Brand New: Deja Entendu - I feel like I should throw an angsty one in here from younger-me. I don't listen to it much because it brings me back to darker times, but it was important at one time in my life.

@thepax89 me too! I'm not putting my life on hold 50% of the time anymore! Life is going to continue in for me until I have a bfp.
@KyCade3013 Yes! Muse - Black Holes & Revelations. That album was so influential at a really important crossroads in my life. I love it.
3. Rants/raves: I took the day off and went to the zoo with DH yesterday thinking that we would have a nice relaxing day out. Of course I saw probably 50 pregnant women...and that's not an exaggeration. They. Were. Everywhere. At first DH thought that I was just focusing on the negative but after about an hour he agreed we. We even ran up to the pharmacy later that night and there were only 2 other people in the store and of course one was extremely pregnant.
4. GTKY: What are your top five most influential albums? I don't know if I can think of 5. I love music but don't often listen to entire albums. My favorite as mentioned above, is Muse - Black Holes & Revelations. Also maybe The Distillers - Coral Fang and The Cold War Kids - Robbers & Cowards.
*Amos Lee- Last Days at the Lodge
*Marc Broussard- Marc Broussard
i literally love every song and listen to both albums full through frequently.

Rant: AF started with zero identifiable signs so I was completely surprised at work and I am just wiped out. Exhausted but not able to sleep and very crampy.
4. I don't know that I have really influential albums. I love music but I'm not an expert/aficionado by any stretch.
TWW although we are technically NTNP
3. Rants/raves:
Theres six weeks of school left. This is the worst time to be a teacher and I got to have one on one talks with some students that are in danger of not passing my class and not graduating. Then the same students decided to talk while I was trying to help them and got mad at me. Ugh... There's only six weeks left. Also I hate mosquitos and the Zika virus stuff is freaking me out. I got 6 new bites today.
I am really really tired all of the sudden so I hoping that maybe I'm pregnant although I'm trying not to read too much into it until I see the lines on the test. If I don't have hope, I have nothing though.
4. GTKY: What are your top five most influential albums? I don't think I've bought an album since the Spice Girls, but I buy singles and pay for Spotify. no shame.
@fivetimesnoluck I think you can cheat at this game, especially to add Modest Mouse. Also, I live for Outkast. I'm going to go ahead and cheat and add Eluvium's Copia because it's the album my DH put on when we returned from a trip home to meet his parents for the first time at Christmas and I realized that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. I proposed about 3 weeks later. Immersive, calming, life affirming piano and strings. Still makes me light headed.
@catiecatp That's a super sweet story. That's everything music is about.
@Wishilivedinflorida I'm really glad to hear you're feeling positive. Honestly, that's such good news (bittersweet is a maybe a better word?). And I didn't know Americans were treated to Canada's 90s pride and joy Our Lady Peace?? 4 AM still makes me happy.
@kns1988 I love Tom Petty, particularly in the Traveling Wilburys because wow George Harrison is my favourite Beatle and Roy Orbison has my favourite male voice.
@MooFish2364 Thank you! It was great. I actually love her. She was very reassuring and positive and had wonderful things to say about continuity of care, which is so important to me.
