Unfortunately, jobs only seem to be legally protected if we're working for a company that has 50+ employees and is required to follow FMLA.
I'm so sorry to hear about these financial stresses and hope things get sorted out or at least a light can be seen at the end of the tunnel. Even if it's a very long tunnel. Life is so flipping expensive. Sometimes I don't know how anyone does it.
