@noelietrex my dog does the same thing, he wants to lie right on my belly and then kind of looks at it like "excuse me, you're in my spot". Also the baby kicked him the other day which was hilarious, he was really confused haha. Feel better!
@sboston06I'm sorry for any disappointment you might be experiencing with having not signed the contract, but I am definitely a fan of going with your instincts... especially when it is such a large and important investment!
@noelietrex Feel better! My dogs will lay next to/squish up against my belly, and I pretend they are trying to listen to the baby. It's pretty adorable. I think it's great when they can sense that you're not feeling well also - such sweet animals!
This is probably going to sound super dumb, but I did read an article that said dogs can hear babies in the womb. Idk if I believe it or not but I'd like to pretend as well.
@HMcDade1 that's not remotely dumb. Dogs have amazingly strong senses, and commonly respond to pregnancies. My male became my shadow when I was pregnant with my first baby, and my female is responding the same way with this pregnancy. They are very perceptive and affected by our pregnancies. It also helps to consider them and their transition to baby coming home. So many wonderful tips on the web for that.
My dog has zero clue that there's anything different. But she's a little special lol. My one cat has always been my shadow but gets really annoying if we don't have an afternoon cuddle session lately. She may have an idea something is different.
I know it's still a couple months out but for anyone thinking or planning on stocking up on freezer meals for after baby comes.
I was on the hunt for a freezer plan that utilized the grill, felt fresh, and had lots of veggies. I came across "I am that lady" blog and she has an entire grill friendly, freezer meal plan. I bought the plan for $2.99 and I am so impressed by it. Step by step instructions, grocery lists, recipe cards, printables etc.
I'll be able to stock the freezer with 20 dinners with sides (10 meals doubled) for under $150 by shopping at Aldi. I love that when our moms are visiting, I can have all the recipes/cooking instructions in a binder and they can grab the bags from the freezer and know exactly what to do with them.

It took some time to find a plan that met the specifications I wanted. Most are crockpot based and not what I call "summer" friendly recipes so I was thrilled to find it, so I'm happy to share! I probably won't follow the sides too closely, as we are part of a CSA from June-Nov, so I'll just utilize that produce. But I love looking at recipes and then making me hungry. Always a good sign in my book. @AB34
Positive for this week: I am finally registering and feel like so much weight is lifted by getting this accomplished. Also, going shopping with my MIL finally after she has begged for weeks so I get good daughter points.
Negative: Found out last week after waking up with extreme pain in my left breast that I have a mass the doctor is concerned about and now I have to see a breast surgeon, but they can't get me in until next week. I am hopeful it is a benign fibroadenoma, and since my boob stopped hurting, I thought maybe it wasn't that big of a deal and they will tell me I am just fine. I started having pain again last night though, and it persisted through to this morning despite massaging and sleeping with a warm compress on it. It just sucks to have one more thing hurting right now and one more thing to stress me out when I am already having to try my damnedest to avoid stress! UGH
@lizhurtI had a fibroadenoma when I was 17. It ended up being benign but before I was diagnosed I was told if you can move it (like most growths) it's most likely not cancerous. I hope that eases your mind a little! Hopefully you get good news back once you see the doctor.
@lizhurt that sounds pretty scary so I'm hoping for the best for you!
Been having trouble finding appropriate and comfortable shoes for works. I'm used to wearing pumps pretty much on a daily basis. That's not working well for me now since my feet swell in the afternoons. I was thinking a comfortable wedge sandal that would go with a lot of stuff. Anybody have any favorite brands or ideas on this subject? I just ordered a pair of Clark's wedges that looked really cute online but didn't fit right so I'm sending them back
Thanks for all the well wishes! I am hopeful this is something harmless and trying not to focus on the scarier possibilities! Really appreciate the support
@rnyland1 I'm full time oxfords and loafers in the office and court room these days. Cole Haan has amazingly comfortable (and cute) dress shoes and always has something good on sale online, but they're still investment shoes which I know is tough with preg foot expanding worries.
My mom needs to stop talking to anyone pregnant. Last night I went over to her house and this was our conversation;
Her: Omg you've gotten huge. Me: Thanks. I'm 28 weeks pregnant and still fit into a dress I wore last summer, you're not pregnant and can't fit into a shirt you wore last summer.
So that was that. Then before I left she told me she might of said the wrong thing to her coworker who is due the day after me. She supposedly asked her if she was pregnant with a girl (which she is) because you carry girls lower and it makes you look "fat" not pregnant. For someone who has been pregnant twice you think she'd know what's okay to say and what's not. -_-
@Shelby00519 Epic. Your mother should apologize to her coworker.
Random thought, all of my coworkers have guessed girl because 'they carry high', 'they carry low', 'you're shaped like a bullet', etc. I swear I get a different explanation every time.
I've been working more evenings and weekends lately and it's interefering with my bumping! By the time I get home and let my dogs out, change into comfy clothes, eat a snack, etc...I'm ready for bed. The past few nights I've made it through a couple of threads each and left a trail of love tits before passing out, but I haven't contributed much else. Might sound silly but it kinda bums me out that I haven't been keeping up with the board like I'm used to.
For those of you that had summer babies previously (I can't seem to find a thread on this anywhere) what kind of clothes did they wear the first couple months? It's cool in the AC but hot outside. Dress them in summer clothes but keep a blanket handy in the house? What did they sleep in? I'm a STM but first time with a summer baby. I'm probably really just over thinking this.
@LDSJM123 I'm wondering the same thing. I'm a total over thinker, over planner, etc. But here in Oregon, who knows what the temp will be like at any point? I have the heat on now because it's like 50 something and rainy but it's supposed to be in the 80s this weekend.
Im in Ohio and our weather loves to be all over the board. Our heat is still on too! I fully expect it to be hot when baby arrives, but by late August it's already starting to cool down. @stellaluna14
Guys I'm so excited... My diaper bag came today! I feel like it's Christmas lol I even started packing it. It's just random samples I've gotten here and there and realistically I'll probably take them all out and put a bunch of other stuff in for when it's packed for the hospital but still. Side note my older chihuahua is obsessed with dog carrier bags and sits in the ones I have out for her all the time (especially when she knows I'm going somewhere) and she must of thought the bag was for her because when I was opening up the box and taking the paper out she was going crazy, she even tried sitting in it a few times. One of the many changes coming her way!
@LDSJM123 DS is an Aug baby, we did mostly summer clothes with him and used a lightweight muslin swaddle for him inside and lightweight jammies. You kinda like to keep them covered both in and outside, but it's also going to depend on baby. If they are hot natured or not. DS is very hot natured and gets to sweating pretty easily when outside. I am planning on mostly lightweight summer clothing and lightweight swaddles and blankets.

@lizhurt I hope your pain eases and you get good news next week.
I found this gem from the 40's yesterday...

SUPER BUMMED that admin shut down the baby show thread, I feel like there was a lot more to be said on that topic.
