Tell me something good...

Just to start a different sort of thread, tell something interesting about yourself that isn't baby/pregnancy related. Thought it would be a fun GTKY!

  • I'm have a weird phobia of foam, not like pop foam, but the stuff that is in mattresses or couches. *shudders*

  • @SuperNerd42 @mrszoess I love pickles too. My maiden named rhymed with Pickle and dumb kids used to call me pickle (mmmk). I'm with you on sweet and butter pickles, YUCK. I like pickled eggs too. I just marinated my chicken in the leftover pickle juice I had. Satisfied :d

  • @JamieK1882 awesome! It seems like a blast. I love to perform. I really missed the camaraderie too.

  • I am a member of a professional music fraternity (Sigma Alpha Iota). I had some of the best times of my life with my sisters at our little college in the mountains.

    Apparently, this is a UO here, but I love sweet pickles ;) no sour ones for me!

    @nataliemaephotography that reminds me of my sister she hates styrofoam and paper bags, especially if you rub either with your hand!

    @SuperNerd42 Now I want a ladycation!!

    @kmalls that's amazing, what a great experience!

    Loving all of these really!

    ETA: because spelling
  • Also, I hate when my food touches on my plate. MIL actually bought sectioned paper plates for her and me for Thanksgiving, because she hates it too ;)
  • @ladyshark311 what an interesting story! sounds like it had a happy ending :) I love theater especially musical theater.

  • Two semi-interesting things about me;
    1. I used to be really into heavy weight training for about five years, I've slowed down a little since the BFP.
    2. I had a Septorhinoplasty surgery exactly 10 months ago. Bone spur ground down, deviated septum aligned, and cartilage removed; had my nose broken in three places for this because my septum was so messed up. My face swelled to about four times its normal size.
  • @ashleyp625 I'm the same way, always have been! My Mom always gives me separate plates for things and my MIL bought me Tupperware divided dishes! Haha my family teases me about it ALL the time!!

    @jillianpardo We do too, our house constantly has music on of some sort but musicals are the go to, my FI was never introduced to them before me and well now he's pretty well versed in Showtunes! Lol And yes I wouldn't want my family any other way and it's been pretty awesome for my kids to grow up that way.

    I'm absolutely loving everyone's stories of how they met their SO's!
  • @kmolleltz That's amazing and I'm so happy for you both, that story made me all teary eyed.
  • @kmolleltz I LOVE that!! I have always always always wanted to adopt! "Unfortunately" there are virtually no babies up for adoption in Europe and good ol US of A decided ours would be an international adoption, so no go there. DH spends a lot of time in Africa for work (will actually be in Tanzania tomorrow, I believe) so I've been dreaming about adopting an African baby even though we are the two whitest people on the planet. Unfortunately adopting internationally is a HUGE hassle and expense. If we ever have to move to Africa I want to do exactly what you're doing!!

  • @ladyshark311 Thanks to pregnancy hormones I basically get teary eyed, if not totally crying, whenever I think about finally bringing him home. haha

    @book&icecream international adoption is for sure a HUGE expense if you don't already live in said country. We're fortunate that our adoption here is considered local (due to the amount of time I've lived here/DH being Tanzanian) and so really our only costs will be lawyer fees (which are small here comparably).

  • Rather boring here too.

    When I was 20, I went swimming and jumped off a rope. The second time wasn't successful.  I shattered both sides of my right ankle. I had to have a 12 hole titanium plate to repair my leg and ankle.

    My grandparents raised my brother and me. I feel lIke because of this I am "old fashioned" unlike most other near thirty years old. Also I feel like I should have been born a decade or two earlier.
  • @rozANDbenSINCE2001 my husband and I are high school sweethearts too! I actually went to an all girls school and he went to public school but we met when I was a sophomore and he was a senior. So many awful prom throwback pictures to look back on haha
  • @F47 Whaaaaaaaat?! That is so amazing! DH is a huge Beatles fan and got me into them in high school! We love going to see cover bands in the park during the summer-it's one of our fave things. We also considered giving our kids Beatles themed names like Lucy and Penny, but went a whole different way :)

    @scostel2 Omg, the throwback pictures are the best! It's like, daaaaang, we were SO awkward! Hahahah

  • @rozANDbenSINCE2001 and @scostel2 Add us to the club! We met when I was a freshman and he transferred into the band as a junior. I did NOT like him, but actually got to know him as a sophomore. He asked me to homecoming through a friend since he was so nervous, and the rest is history! I love that we've known each other so long and have so much shared history. And yes, the early pics are pretty great ;)

    @kmolleltz That is awesome! Hope you get to bring your little boy home soon!
