We're on holiday right now! I dont know if we will have time for another in the future so we went early. Kigamboni, Dar es Salaam. It's only an hour by flight (as opposed to the 12 hour bus ride!) and we found very reasonable tickets so we decided to just do it. It's been crazy hot though, but it was DH first time swimming in the ocean!
and it ACTUALLY looks like this (except the trees are only in one small area of the beach.. the rest is resorts and such)
So amazing! Zanzibar was the most incredible beach I've ever been to but I got WICKED sun burn. Hope you're having an amazing time!

Kigamboni is super close (2 hr ferry) from Zanzibar, so it's basically the other side. I would put them side by side in beautiful-ness. Haha. We were only on the beach for three days and I can say that I am also sporting a brutal sunburn. Hah.
@samijrichards with 5 days I'd skip the BI just because it's so large and there is so much to see, I'd probably go with a smaller island like Maui so you have the time to explore. It's a lot of driving from the west side of the BI with the great weather and beaches over to the volcano side. That and actually I don't think it's recommended to go to the volcano when pregnant because of the vog. My parents have been to Maui several times and love it!
I'm not sure what we'll wind up doing this summer, but definitely will be doing some camping. We bought an rv last spring and camped a lot over the summer when we could. Northern michigan mostly.. we'll probably do mackinaw and things like that again just because we've been doing it every summer for the last few summers.. we might take a bigger trip to a Carolina this summer too.. will just depend how our schedule works out..
Heading to Bermuda early this summer with my whole family so there will be quite a large group of us. Can't wait to get away! It snowed Saturday in Pennsylvania! It's April! Can't wait for those turquoise blue waters and pink sand beaches!
I was nervous about traveling too far from home so we booked a little cabin on the hood canal in Washington. It has no tv or internet and has the most amazing view. We are going for just short of a week in July.
