The LIFE idea was randomly in my pinterest feed a few weeks ago, I've been so pumped!!
It looks super cute! What a great idea. Glad to hear it all went well and congratulations on another beautiful little boy! It's going to be so exciting for your LO to have a brother growing up. I'm so happy for you!
@AnnaS930 CONGRATS!!! Omg so funny bc I was thinking of how I used to play Life and would ALWAYS land on all of the children squares and pick the $20K salary. I would end up bankrupt by the end of the game with 2 cars packed with children.
My poor little guy has suddenly got a 103.4 fever. He has acted sleepy all evening, but we were thinking it was due to a shorter nap today. He ate and drank well for dinner, so I'm not too concerned. Right now he is sleeping on my lap. I hope he feels better in the morning.
@RedMar I know I had never seen it, but thought maybe it was newer. I haven't been on to look for stuff in a while since it's off season. I'll scour the internet for it. This baby isn't getting much new stuff in the way of clothes, but I'll be darned if she doesn't get those.
Also... have to AW an old pic of DD in her Colts jammies.
ETA Found it in baby size AND in DD's size! Woo-hoo!
@RedMar I was always the player with 2 cars. We were laughing today about our old games, my cousin who is a lesbian would always put her husband in the backseat of the car when playing as little kids... what a telling game.
@mom2adoodle I LOVE signs that work out- by this time next week we will know! I'm DYING!!! The funny thing too is before I found out I was prego, I dyed my hair bright pink and purple. I've let is fade since then, and it faded out to a bluish blonde. All signs point to blue lol! We shall see!!
@AnnaS930 congrats!!! So exciting! I'm so glad it went well
@lovelylauren86 that was Tampa last summer! It was crazy, long story shorrt I actually lost my car to the floods while drive in downtown Tampa. Left my house it was sunny and dry and 5 hours later I no longer had a car.

@Thscary- We sure did! Went out to lunch after, then picked up my son from daycare and headed to Carter's. My husband said "oh good! now we don't need to buy as much at Carter's!" ... HA! We ended up spending $150 but that was split up among things for new baby, Summer clothes for Emmett, and some PJs for my 4 year old niece/nephew - so pretty good!
@camichael84- not at Carter's, all of the "little brother" stuff was size 9months or bigger... I can't wait that long!! But at Target after, I found a newborn teal onesie that says "Little Brother" with little pants attached, and a 18 month T shirt in the exact same color that says something like "This is what an Awesome Brother looks like" ... I CAN'T WAITTTTTTTTTT!
Ugh, E was at daycare for 2 hours yesterday while we had our scan. This morning I find out he scratched another kid's face while he was there. That's twice in about 2 weeks. I tried to explain to the teacher that we are doing our best to work on it at home.. but he doesn't do it at home so it's pretty hard to talk through something like that to a 16 month old without experiencing it. She said their new plan/what they did was to ignore the action completely and hold/baby the child who was scratched to make sure they're ok. She said Emmett walked away and sucked on his blanket, watching from the corner. I realize that he needs to feel like it's not ok, but it kind of broke my heart since he sincerely doesn't understand yet that what he's doing isn't ok he's just so excited that he grabs their face. Ugh, this is hard.
Late to the game but CONGRATS @AnnaS930 I am so excited for you!!! I've been sporadically checking the sex thread waiting to see an update from you. Two boys will be so much fun
Today is ultrasound/sex check day! Not my a/s yet, but doctor said he'd sneak in a peek so we can hopefully find out Excited to see baby again and hopefully find out if boy/girl! My stomach is protesting the nerves though, it's like Christmas Eve as a kid over here
@lovelylauren86 - Stay safe in Houston! We're in Austin, so we're still getting rain and some flooding but nothing like Houston is. The Houston campus for my company has been completely flooded out at this point and we're hearing all sorts of stories about the flooding down there.
@camichael84 - Totally not just you! I've already picked out matching Vikings onsies and new Vikings jerseys for all four of the kids and I still need to find some Big Sister/Little Sister, Big Brother/Little Brother stuff. I might check out Zazzle.com for that stuff though too.
@AnnaS930 - I'm sorry. That is really hard. I always try to talk to the kids in a way that they can understand but, even at 6, it can be hard to get them to fully grasp things. At 16 months it's super tough, especially if you have to try and address the situation after the fact. It's obvious that he's not doing it to be malicious though, he's just super excited. Which actually makes me smile because he'll obviously love being a big brother!
@UnwritteN12- Yes, thank you. He is in love with babies and is going to be an amazing big brother (even if a bit rough with his affection - I think with 2 boys I'm in for a wild ride!) We'll just keep working at it, this is my first real (of many to come) parenting struggles. Can't let this one get me too down!
@camichael84 So much matching clothes over here. I get most of my kid's clothes second hand, so not as much matching as I'd like. But most of what I buy is matching clothes. I'm hoping to get a few matching short/t-shirt sets for this summer. All my kids need shorts so we'll see. Buying matching is kind of a headache now though. Because my oldest is into little girl's clothes, the middle one is in toddler sizes, and the baby is in baby sizes. Target typically has things that match though.
So. The only thing I've been really craving this pregnancy is root beer floats. Well my cravings have been so bad that I decided it would be a genius idea to pack up ice cream and root beer for a little afternoon work snack. But in doing so, I completely left my lunch on the counter! I guess it's ice cream for lunch today and I'm not complaining Does anyone else have any strange or strong cravings? I've always LIKED root beer floats, but they've never made me drool the way they do now!
@AnnaS930 congrats on baby boy #2. I have two boys, it's a blast. They have so much fun together, they are always in motion. Running, wrestling, laughing etc.
@PoodleDoodleOoo - Root Beer floats were one of my cravings last time in the second trimester.Too funny. By the third trimester, I had moved on to frosted (not glazed) animal crackers (sprinkles included) dipped in chunky peanut butter. OMG so good! For weeks, I craved fruit juice (specifically orange juice) and right now it's cake and ice cream and the cravings are real. It's so bad but it's real!
@PoodleDoodleOoo I've mentioned my biggest craving on TB a ton already, but it's lunch meat turkey sandwiches. Not a food item I normally strongly desire, but I can't get enough of them now. I craved tacos with my daughter, but that seemed less odd to me because I always love tacos.
I am not really a fan of the matching of clothes and don't plan on doing it with my kids- granted I am sure we will be gifted matching outfits from some family members that think it's adorable.
In regards to root beer floats - I went out to lunch last weekend with my husband and his father. As we were getting seated, I saw someone at a different table with a root beer float and had to order one for myself. I can't remember the last time I had one!
This pregnancy I am eating a lot of ice cream. I always want ice cream, pregnant or not, so it isn't really a pregnancy craving. I am just allowing myself to indulge since I am pregnant - somehow it makes sense to me.
@camichael84 I, too, have been craving turkey sandwiches! I seriously cannot get enough!! With DD, I avoided lunch meat completely but it wasn't really that hard because I didn't want it anyway. I'm much more lax with my eating do's and don't's this time around, for whatever reason...which is a good thing because I NEED me a turkey sandwich at least a few times a week!
It's anatomy scan day for us today! So excited to see baby girl moving around and hopefully find out that everything is great in there. DH and I also slept in this morning which was awesome.
As far as cravings, I wish so hard I could at least stomach sweets. The heartburn is so bad, even with meds, that I throw up half the time I indulge I'm not really craving ice cream but I have tons in the fridge and sometimes just want to be able to have some.
