The Bump has my weeks/days right, but the new cartoon drawings of the fruit/veggies is horrible. I'm not a child. Just show me a picture of a real artichoke. It can't be that hard to fine one.
Good morning ladies!!! It's Tuesday, sunny out, and we're actually supposed to have weather in the 60s for the majority of this week. I'm doing my happy dance all over as I'm typically a four seasons type of gal but I am so ready to say buh-bye to winter! Bring on the 60s and sun!!!!
@camichael84 -- the sad thing is, I think it's probably supposed to be "cool" and "design-y."' Hahaha. Sometimes simple is better. Almost always, really.
@LakeR2014 we have rain this morning, but the rest of the 10 day forecast looks clear, with temps rising steadily from the low to high 50s! Woop woop!! Emmett and I even played outside after dinner last night. So nice to get some fresh air.. here's hoping I can actually get on the exercise train with this improved weather.

@AnnaS930So much this! I'm willing myself to have enough energy to take the puppy on a long walk after work tonight. Lack of energy combined with the horrible weather the last ten days, means the poor pup has been basically house bound. He's more then ready for some freedom.
I finally emptied out my 11 month old's drawers and got out the next size of clothes. She has 3 onesies and 4 pairs of pants. All of them have stains or small holes. I did not plan on buying her a whole new wardrobe right now. Grumble grumble. It kind of makes sense I guess. My second wore this size for a long time, so everything was probably too icky to bother saving.
@LakeR2014- I got the pup and the toddler out for a 1.5 mile walk on Sunday - that used to be our normal length or even shorter walk... it was the longest walk we've taken in weeks. We finally have daylight after work and warm weather, not too many excuses left for sitting on my rump all evening!
@LeahKnits- My little man (16 months) is in 18 month clothing, and I can definitely see why this is the age that kids hand less and less clothing down. He's been in it for a couple months and will be for a couple more. Some pants got really thin in the knees while he was crawling, he gets food all over himself even with a bib and rolled up sleeves and stretches the clothes out like crazy. We have tons of 18 month clothes, I think a decent amount are short sleeves, but none of them are shorts - so we will be shopping in the next month as well!
@AnnaS930Yea we have a park behind us and used to do 1.5-2 miles after work during good weather. It's wide open so the pup can just run. That hasn't happened in I don't know how long...so it's about time, excuses are becoming over used for me at this point, lol.
Emmett and I were eating the leftover pizza hut for dinner last night. He' chomping away on a half piece of pizza and reaches the crust. He looks really puzzled that there's a hole in the end of his crust (He's never experienced stuffed crust before). He sticks his finger in and rips open the crust, then looks at my with the biggest grin and says "CHEEEEEEEEEEEESE!"
Oh man, there's no denying he's my child. Also - don't get spoiled kid, back to regular old crust the next time you have pizza I'm sure.
@AnnaS930 handing down clothes isn't as easy as I thought it'd be. I thought that because I have all girls I wouldn't have to buy any clothes for my 2nd or 3rd. Just a few things that I liked. But no. For my second I had to buy all new 18 month clothes because my 1st only wore that size in the summer, and my 2nd needed them in the winter. And now I am needing to replace a lot for my 3rd as nearly everything is worn out. It's frustrating because I didn't plan on it.
@AnnaS930 McKenna and I are cheese lovers, too. I got some Bosco sticks (the mozzarella filled breadsticks they'd serve in school) because I was having a craving for them, and even though she just ate her lunch, I had to share them with McKenna. Then she cried when they were gone. Kid would eat nothing but cheese if I'd let her.
@LeahKnits I get you on the worn out clothes. Both of mine are/will be September babies, so in theory, if I have anot her girl, I'll be able to reuse everything. But once she got into 18 months, nothing is lasting. She's wearing them longer, and then, between more mobility and eating, she's staining them more frequently as well. I recently had to go shopping to get her more clothes for now, not for a new size or season change like it was previously. I'm set for the first year if we have another girl, but that's it.
@AnnaS930 Living in Chicagoland, we're pretty spoiled with our pizza. Pizza Hut is definitely not on the top of the list of "good" pizza around here. When we lived in WI, though, Pizza Hut WAS pizza. I actually worked at a sit-down PH and a server for a year before moving to IL. During that time, I ate PH probably 5 times a week...but since then, we have had PH maybe a handful of times. That being said, DH and I were JUST having a conversation about this over the weekend. Nothing beats PH stuffed crust or their Taco Pizza. I've had taco pizza elsewhere but it's never been the same. Sooooo good. Now I want need some. And it's 9am.
@camichael84- oh yes. he knows the word cheese because he wishes it was the entirety of his diet. I honestly can't blame him.
@JennM205 - We definitely have better (specialty-type) pizza places around than Pizza Hut, but when you've got a craving for Hut (especially stuffed crust) just nothing else will do! We do homemade pizza every other week or so.. kid is going to be so disappointed next time he gets to the crust to find nothing!
@JennM205 I have Pizza Hut taco pizza in my fridge! My parents came over for lunch yesterday and we ordered Pizza Hut in. (This is @AnnaS930 's fault. I'd forgotten the Pizza Hut talk until the Meal Plan post.) This will be my lunch again today.
My random: So our neighborhood does a yearly garage sale, and of course it's a week before we find out the sex of the baby. (It was exactly the same when I was pregnant with McKenna.) DH doesn't buy my idea of getting an elective u/s to find the sex out early so we can sell our baby clothes if we are having a boy. Something about the benefits not outweighing the costs.
@JennM205 - Congrats on getting rid of the BIL! mine moved out a week and a half ago and it has been the greatest. I love walking around with no pants on!!!!
So my DH got is offer letter for his new job today and officially put in his resignation! I am so beyond thrilled. I wish he could tell them on the way out how horrible they are. BUT I work here too so he has to mind his P's & Q's.
Me: 32 DH: 31
TTC #2 since January 2018
Baby #1 DD Born 8/25/2016 BFP: 8/11/18 Due: 4/26/18
@kosmo86 that's so awesome! Putting in my resignation when I changed to my current job was one of the scariest/happiest days of my life. I actually stayed on with them with the possibility of working per diem on weekends (which I never did) so I couldn't tell them just how horrible they were... and since it was a major retail pharmacy I'm glad I didn't burn my bridges in case I find myself out of work!
@camichael84- I will take the blame, but I will not take the calories. I ate my weight in cheeto puffs yesterday evening, then had Hut leftovers, then a peanut butter cookie and a scoop of ice cream, then some jelly beans.
It was one of those days where I was super healthy until 4pm, then I ate my way to falling asleep on the couch at 9:30. Woops
@AnnaS930 It sounds like it was a delicious night though! I had an all around terrible eating day yesterday. Breakfast was brownies (homemade... and yes, I ate some batter when I made them), lunch was Pizza Hut, and supper was Steak n Shake (delicious strawberry shake). I've got to get it together because I don't want to gain 12 lbs between 16-20 weeks like I did last time. Other than my leftover Pizza Hut lunch, my planned food for today is healthy.
@kosmo86YES!! I seriously can NOT wait to be able to walk around with no pants on! Especially as my belly is getting bigger and bigger and now my clothes fit funny. Even the maternity pants that fit just fine - who wants to wear those all day every day!? I am looking forward to that as well as a clean guest bathroom (my BIL is a SLOB!) probably the most, haha!
Congrats to your husband on the new job!! And, if I remember correctly, he was limited on time he could take off after baby since it would have eaten into your time off working for the same company? In this case, do you think he'll get a week or two to be home with you and baby??
@camichael84- Yes, mine was too. I had oatmeal, fruit salad, a little cheese and crackers and leftover chilli packed for my day. Then a coworker brought me a bismark, which apparently is a cream/fruit filled donut. Yum. Slightly off-track, but substituting it out for the oatmeal and moving forward!
Just officially resigned my job today. We'll be moving states over the summer, so I clearly won't be teaching in the same school next year. Only problem, DH doesn't actually have a job there yet...still, it is starting to feel more real. Now, to find him work, find a place to live, find an OB and a hospital to deliver in....
Hmmm, B&J free cone day.. there's one about 15 minutes from my house, and it's within walking distance of my husband's work. Suggested he line up on his lunch break - but I think I'll be sitting this one out!
@Steephers123that's the mentality I used when I gave it to my kiddo for dinner. He had some veggies on the side and fruit as dessert - Well-balanced?
This was my thought exactly when I gave the same to McKenna for lunch yesterday. Then all she ate was half the pizza before she threw her whole plate on the ground, and I began to wonder why I even try.
@camichael84 I have a hard time when I put in a lot of effort and he won't even try a bite. On Sunday I gave Emmett some quinoa with his meal.. you would have thought it was poison. He stuck out his tongue and whined while I helped him scrape all the little pieces off. Ugh. I really thought he'd love it (he loves all rices, so I thought this was fun.. apparently the texture was NOT cool)
I then had to get the pieces of quinoa that he flung in panic off of his other foods so that he would eat them.
Thanks a lot kid.
Edited to add: The foods he did gobble up (minus quinoa bits) were 2 frozen chicken nuggets, glazed carrots (also frozen), cheese cubes and fruit cocktail. So things that took me about 30 seconds to slap on a plate. Why do we try??

We moved when I was about 5 months pregnant with my first. DH didn't have a job there yet. We were moving to live near my family. I went first, and found a doctor and lived with my parents for a while. DH came just before DD was born. He got a job, we found a house, and the baby was born all in the same week. It was stressful but it all worked out. I hope it all works out well for you too!

I was all like:
But inside I was like:
Now the Million Dollar Question is WHEN!?!?!?! But I remained nonchalant and didn't ask. We'll find out soon enough. Crossing my fingers for May 1st!!
@JennM205 - Yaaaaaayyyyy!!!! I'm so thrilled for you guys!!

(The above is a total craving now as I live in NY, the land of GOOD pizza. But none will do as Pizza Hut just sounds so good!)
