@dragonfaerie  it does look like a Weebo lol

@Tulips- can't believe you are almost through your TWW- are you going to wait to POAS? I was thinking of doing it the morning of  beta just so I can be with DH for the news

@thucks try looking on youtube, there were some great ivf videos that go over giving an IM injection and landmarks (like your butt crack lol) to use. I did my first PIO last night since our IVF cycle in December....I kept stalling because I hate having to do it, but it wasn't so bad :)

@jenn6782 I heard about that concert- can't believe you got tickets-show of a lifetime!

The transfer went well today. I had lazer accupuncture before and after the transfer, which took place in the same room.  They actually made the experience spa-like with dimmed lights and relaxing music. While I was waiting for the doctor, I just laid there and relaxed. I was worried about the full bladder part, but it really was not bad. (I've experienced worse.) They didn't make me drink too much, and by the time I was full, the transfer was finished. It was actually a very relaxing and interesting experience.  While I am hoping for good news, I am trying to stay in denial for as long as I can to avoid disappointment if things don't work out.  Good luck to everyone else!

@2legbaby you do your own PIO shots? DH works 2nd shift and my PIO is in the pm. He's majorly scared of doing my shots so I've always done them myself anyway. I've been watching YouTube videos all day trying to convince myself I can do it lol.

@LynnNJ I'm glad your transfer went well today.

  • @Tulips29 wow that will be here in no time. GL and FX

@dragonfaerie haha. Because of my long nap I went to sleep late and woke up at my usually afternoon time. How are you feeling?

@thucks the PIO by yourself isn't bad. The only thing I needed DH for was to pucker up the area while I injected. There are a few youtube videos that I consulted for help.

  • @LynnNJ glad the transfer went well. Congrats on being PUPO!

@thucks I work 2nd shift also and informed my RE and nurse coordinator that I don't go to bed until late so they allowed me to do it in the wee hours of the am once I get home from work. The only thing now is I have to do it the same time every night so I set my alarm since I am off from work.

  • @thucks You can do it! Watch lots of videos on youtube.

@jenn6782 Amazing that you get to go to that concert!!

@dragonfaerie I am feeling good! I have been taking it easy over the last few days but getting out for little walks around the city.

@LynnNJ Your experience sounds amazing! I did acupuncture before and after but had to ride about 15 min on the tram followed by a 5-10 min walk to and from the clinic and acupuncture. Congrats on being PUPO!!!

@wishingforluck On my adventure out to Prague I had one shot that I had to give in the wee hours as I kept the shot schedule on Colorado time... it wasn't so bad. I usually get up to pee anyway. Hopefully it is not disturbing your sleep too much!

AFM - My attitude (so far) has been very positive. I just really feel like with using donor eggs that our chances are so much higher. This morning I woke up with sore boobs - which I know is a side effect of progesterone - but it is also a side effect of pregnancy! I am usually a very anxious worrier but I am just choosing to believe already that this transfer worked and I am pregnant. I usually try to guard my emotions to protect myself (thinking that it will hurt less later if I do this) but in reality, having all of those failed transfers and eventually a miscarriage hurt just as much when I wasn't hopeful as when I was hopeful.

    **question**
How many of you will POAS before beta (if you have a beta scheduled) and how early will you test?

  • I'll post more later today all, but quick question : I'm still experiencing minor cramping this morning,  3dpt. Do you think I'm still okay?  I emailed my nurse but not sure if she's in today.  I know everybody is different, but they didn't warn me about cramps. I'll probably call the nurse line. ... sorry,  it's hard not to worry.

  • @LynnNJ Sounds like you had a lovely transfer!

@susykat77 Thank you! I'm just trying to think happy thoughts and relax!

Since my Beta isn't until 15dpt, I may POAS. I'm thinking maybe 10dpt. On Monday though I will ask why it is so far out and see if they won't bump me to a sooner day.

  • @WishingforLuck thank you! I'll take all the luck I can get!

@2legbaby I've held out this long so I doubt it. My husband is really asking me not to POAS, so I would like to keep my promise to him and not do it. I'd love to POAS the morning of beta so I'm at least prepared, but I know he will be upset and then if I get a negative, he will say "I told you so." Ugh!

@lynnnj I'm glad to hear your transfer went well and you were able to relax the entire time!

@dragonfaerie well, I'm definitely not an indicator of anything since I've had no cramping or anything at all since my transfer. I searched the entire board for answers and basically found that it's a split verdict. Some people feel cramping and have spotting/bleeding. Some don't have any symptoms at all. I wouldn't worry about the cramping since it's a likely side effect, but hopefully your nurse will give you a better answer.

@susykat77 it's great to have such a positive attitude. I need to take a page out of your book and feel the same. I was very positive but having no symptoms at all made me into a lunatic lol. Although I've been having super vivid dreams to the point that I feel I'm in them. I wake up feeling so odd. But overall, I sleep like a log through the night. Who knows what it all means

  • @susykat77 I don't plan on poas but we'll see how that really works out. Beta on the 20th. Estradiol and Progesterone BW today.

@dragonfaerie I've had mild cramping but no spotting. Just hoping it's the embabies digging in.

@Tulips29 OMG with the dreams! It's like I'm living a double life when I go to sleep. Luckily nothing too weird yet.

On another note-I've taken the complete opposite approach and have let people (EVERYONE) know I'm going through IVF. I think the whole town knows. It's actually kept people out of our business.  They know we are struggling and are just waiting until we give good news. No one pesters me about no babies at my age anymore. Best part has been the number of nurses that have offered to give my PIO shots and I've taken advantage of it. It's so much better than when DH does it.

@Sumo2519 We basically have told everyone as well! It is definitely a load off to not have to field questions all day. We stopped talking about it as we approached our FET so that we could hopefully have it be a nice surprise if (WHEN) we get our BFP!

  • @susykat77 It's great that you're keeping a very positive attitude!  I'm sure your beta numbers will come back awesome!

@dragonfaerie  I'm glad that you heard back from your nurse to validate that the cramping is normal!  I don't think you have anything to worry about!  Stay positive and I'm sure your beta will be great!

@Sumo2519  That's actually not a bad approach to take.  I think for me, keeping the IVF mostly a secret has been just added stress.  I might consider taking your approach to see if that relaxes me a bit.

AFM, nothing much to update I'm counting down the days (who am I kidding, more like the seconds) until my transfer day.  I wish I can just sleep through the next two weeks and wake up to transfer day lol.  I am definitely getting more nervous as time passes though.  Trying to maintain a positive attitude, and when the negative thoughts creep in I just try to distract myself.
  • @jenn6782 hopefully the 2 weeks will fly by for you! Try to send those negative thoughts away, I know it's so hard.

  • @jenn6782 Keep up the positive attitude.  My anxiety ended with bumps/rash all over my arms and legs in the week leading up to FET.  My PCP and RE nurses all said xanax or valium was ok to take up to the transfer to help with my anxiety and prescribed them for me.   I was also prescribed hydroxyzine for the itching (antihistamine and anti-anxiety), which is the only thing I took since it served both purposes - and it was awesome.  Check with your doctors, if this is something you're willing to try.

Congratulations to everyone who have had their transfers and are PUPO! I start PIO tonight, was everyone else given a set time to start their injections? i was told the first injection had to be at 7pm and after today whatever time is convenient which seems odd to me. Im a little nervous about PIO, i didnt have to do any IM injections during the retrieval cycle so this will be my first one. I have no problem with needles and shots but its just so darn long! When do the BETA's start coming in?

  • Hey @kjplaza that is weird about the set time for the progesterone just once...they never told me when to take it, just to do it same time every day, hope the injection went well! My hiney has apparently gotten used to it again as it is no longer aching like the first two days :)

  • Hi Ladies!!!!!

I am close to the end of my FET. My transfer will be Thursday, May 19th. My beta will be Memorial Day. This is the first cycle of mine that hasn't been cancelled,  due to thin lining (last one was) and 2 failed fresh IVFS. Happy to hear of all the other ladies in the same boat!!! Also,  anybody else taking this progesterone oil??? Both sides of my butt hurt soooooo bad
  • @dadezbombz welcome and good luck with your cycle! I was just switched to PIO today, so it was my first shot but the nurse did tell me my behind will be sore soon. Joy! lol

@kjplaza and @tulips29 how did your PIO go? I started them on Friday and I stress out about it way more than it actually bothers me. I was never told a specific time just in the pm. I usually take my Estrace about 7:30 so I take it then heat up my heat pad, draw my PIO put the shot in the heat pad and syc myself up for the shot just for a few. Then I take it out and put the heat pad back in the microwave, do my injection and then massage it with my palm and put heat on it. So far it hasn't been bad at all.

@dadezbombz we are only 1 day off from each other. I transfer Wed but my beta will be the 31st. Our clinic will not be open for the usual on memorial day. I will probably POAS though the 28th. (We will be visiting family that weekend and DH wants to make the big announcement then)

  • @dadezbombz Yes, I have quite lovely bruises on my tushie! I've been on the PIO for over a week now. Still, I will do PIO over suppositories ANY day. This morning I had a nurse draw the circles on my rear to make sure we are using all the space we have.

@thucks I was not told a specific time to do my PIO either, but it is in the AM, not PM. I do have to make sure that I take it at least two hours before any blood draw, so it usually ends up being around 5:30am.

@thucks PIO went fine today. I was I was scared of it more than anything, so when the nurse pricked me, I almost jumped lol. But it's not much different from the injections I did for my IUIs as they were intramuscular as well. But now I feel a bit of a numbing over there where it went in. The nurse told me it's better to do them in the AM since then you move around during the day and it allows the oil to absorb better vs in the PM before bed where it just sit there while you sleep. I already told DH he'll be up early doing them for me

@tulips29 I wounder why mine is in the pm. That makes sense that your moving more in the am. I've never had intramuscular shots before even with my IUI's. I do these myself and the left side is kinda awkward I was really surprised in myself with doing it left handed lol.

  • @thucks yay you! I can't imagine doing it on my left side. I'll be away from DH on Thursday, so I had to count what side to start on so that I can do it myself on my right side. That shall be interesting, trying to do it sideways in front of a mirror lol. But I'm willing and ready to do whatever it takes to help with embaby stick and stay in there!

  • @thucks they originally put me on oral progesterone tablets and vaginal suppositories. Guess that wasn't working since my levels were low. Hopefully PIO helps increase it. So now I'm on PIO + still on vaginal suppositories.
