Since it's officially April now, that means that the majority of is are due NEXT month! Can that just sink in for a moment?!
On my to-do list for this last month:
1. Finish nursery (baby shower next week so should be 99% there after that)
2. Have lots of dates with DH
3. Read, read and then read some more
4. One last major shop for food and cleaning supplies
What is on yours??
Re: NEXT month!!
I'll come back to this thread later, I just need to go find some sand to bury my head in for a minute first.
Been married since 2009.
Unicornuate Uterus (yes I menstruate glitter)
Several MCs
DD born 2013 (our miracle "you can't have babies" baby!)
- Buy more baby clothes (so far I only have 5 onesies, a light jacket (autumn here) 2pair of socks, and a shirt pant set.
- Buy diaper stash. We are using throwaways for the first week-1month while we A )wait for tar poo to go away and B ) buy the RealNappies Birth to potty pack. Tight couple of months yet again with more car issues . . . June pay is the first non tight month in a while. *sigh*
- Clean, Clean, CLEAN!!! half the house still needs its super once-over. I've just been too tired.
- Finish crocheting this baby blanket and jacket/hat set.
- Pack the hospital bag . . . It's only half done.
- Freeze a few meals.
- The last major grocery shop will be on April 16th.
- Have lots of sex since that will be off the menu for a while.
Also it would be super neat if baby could stay put till after Captain America . . .1. Finish nursery ( the ceiling is at least done)
2. Find pediatrician (interviewing one tomorrow and a couple next week).
3. Pack back for hospital
4. Final clean out of house
5. Finish putting bassinet together
6. Pick up breast pump (figure out how it works lol)
Thank you for starting this! Kicks me in the butt to get finished! But all baby classes are done and we passed lol. We got a certificate and everything.
For me:
7. I like the dates with hubby thing! Definitely make sure to make that a priority!
8. Finish watching daredevil. I'm hooked!
On my to do list:
1. Pack hospital bag
2. Attend shower (Saturday)
3. Get swing out of storage and clean it
4. Install car seat
5. About 10,000 other things that probably won't get done!
Question: Do we need TWO car seats or can we make do with one? How easy is it to swop it out?
Any other FTMs/FTDs that already feel like they are parents?
My mom may be getting a car seat base, though.
I have soo much I need to get done before! I have no idea how / when. Once I get home from work all I can manage is fall in my recliner and that's it.
I can't believe that there'll be a fellow family member with me soon. Out of my belly. Despite the massively round evidence and all the aches and pains, it's still really really SURREAL! :-)
Ive been dying to say "I'm having a baby next month"...ahhhhh!!!!
Really all I have left is install car seat, finish some of her laundry, pack my bag, call about my short term disability. Doing all of that this weekend. Everything else (i.e. Scrubbing baseboards) if I get around to it great. But my nesting instinct is gone and I would prefer to spend my weekend on the couch.
We are super prepared, really, took all the classes and there's just a few more things on our to-do list, but.... I'm so not ready.
So yes please to baby cooking a little longer!
Not everyone can breastfeed - Mammary Hypoplasia/Insufficient Glandular Tissue Awareness
My to-do list is about 30 items long, but the most important are: trade in for a bigger car and prepare bassinet/pack-n-play. and stay pregnant until at least 35 weeks. Keep checking things off, ladies!
Mama to Three Girls:
Twins born March 2014 at 26 weeks due to preterm labor
and our 37weeker born May 9th, 2016!
Eta: I've been operating under the impression that I'll likely have at least a few weeks left to work on some of these things since LO probably won't be arriving until the last week of April/first week of May.
1. Baby shower (tomorrow)
2. Buy whatever I don't get from the baby shower
3. Get car seat and stroller. And then install.
4. Put hospital bag in car.
5. Freezer meals (next weekend)
6. BF class (Monday)
7. Get someone to do a deep clean of our house
Im due May 13th but at the rate this pregnancy has been going with my incompetent cervix and the bed rest stint, I'm fine as long as he stays in til 35 weeks (April 8).
Eeeek! Though I'm not due till the 23rd, so more like 2 months, but still....!
I have spring break in a couple weeks, so here's what I'm planning:
- Finish nursery (wallpaper accent wall, need book shelving, lighting we bought is backordered until end of April
- See what's left on the needs list after my shower this weekend and budget to buy it all up
- Find a pediatrician
- Handle breast pump reimbursement
- Install car seat in my car and base in husband's car
- Pack hospital bag
- Order breast pads and other recs from STMs of post birth recovery needs
House related:
- Pray our two bathroom renovation that started this week is done on time
- Still need to get a small breakfast table
- Husband needs to install new blinds -- husband is not handy, so pray husband can actually install said blinds
- Prep the guest room for my mom
- Install new vanity in basement bathroom -- again, husband is not handy, so this will be fun
- Buy patio and outside furniture
Advice to all future moms to be - Never buy a house in your second trimester. My stamina and wallet are being bled dry.
I also need to plan a birthday party for the first weekend in May for my husband and mom. They share a birth date, and that's also the baby's due date, so I wanted to do something special for them ahead of time.
2. do a lot of stuff
I'm not due until May 22, so I guess we have a bit more time than some of you, but still, so overwhelming!
Is your boy's birthday on the 8th? If so I am sharing with him
@JennyS86, I didn't realize you were delivering at 37 too. I feel less alone now! Good luck with the new car, DH is driving Miss Daisy right now because I can't sit in the front with the car seat at the full infant recline. Our car seat instalation technician said I was too close to the dash. I'd forgotten how weird it is to sit in the back of my car, but our car seat is a freaking tank so I guess the safety benefits are worth the temporary inconvenience.
Anyways, to do:
- Pack hospital bags (our birth place suggests packing two bags - a labour bag to bring in with you initially, and a recovery bag with all the things you need for your stay at the hospital)
- Finish the corner of our room that will be baby's "nursery" (she gets a wall), which means ordering the changing pad to go on the dresser and painting the wall
- Install car seat base.
- Finish Childbirth Classes (last on April 13!) and Infant CPR Class (April 18)
- SO and I are both turning 30 in mid-April, so party! Though our original plans made this time last year to go to Paris are off, I guess we can find something to do in the general vicinity of home ...
- Freezer meals. Have done my experiments and figured out what works for us, now to make them and store them for real
- Really want to get a pedicure done ... my toes are awful, and SO offered to help me with them since I can't reach, but we've been down this road before - it will be a disaster
- Print out and have ready all the legal documents I'll need (or just want) for delivery/birth
and
- clean clean clean!
That's doable. I'm due May 19, it's totally doable ...
YESSSS!
I hope I don't have to give birth in a foot boot
1. Put together the nursery
2. Buy diapers, bath stuff, swing, and just little things
3. Pack hospital bags
4. Clean! I just don't have energy anymore.
We're possibly taking on a renovation project on a house up the road that we are trying to purchase. DH will be extremely busy with that but I know he can do it. I just don't know if he will have it ready before we deliver meaning that we might be moving after having this LO. It's stressing me out a little to move with a brand new baby and 3 boys I would much rather move before when I can actually help.
Baby:
- stay pregnant till at least 36 weeks.
-put finishing touches on the nursery
-find dress for baby shower (April 23rd)
-buy anything not bought
-install car seat
-build up cloth diaper stash
House:
-finish upstairs demolition (That way all the dusty stuff is done. Should be finished this weekend!)
-Clean.
There's a ton of little things but thats the bulk of it.
Edit my gif might be broken.
