Trying to Get Pregnant

TWW Tuesday

Re: TWW Tuesday

  • @HurricaneAmelia that would be mortifying! Good thing you had extra pants!  FX for your BFP.

@beary67 I literally ate jelly beans for breakfast this morning lol

@PennStateCait zika is scary and it seems like they don't really know what is safe vs. not safe.  We are both totally avoiding all zika countries until we have our LO.  But your DH will know if he gets it won't he?  Can they test for it?

    Month/cycle:
     3/4

    CD/DPO: 19/7

    Timing: -4,-3,-2,-1

Testing: Plan was to hold out until AF is due (should be 1 week) but I bought new tests yesterday.

R/R/CS: Yesterday one of my BFs had her baby.  So happy for her but also a little sad that we aren't KU yet.  She is one of only 2 people that know we are TTC and we were hoping to be on mat leave together (we get 1 year in Canada so there would be overlap).

GTKY: What's the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you? A few things but probably the worst was waiting in line to get into a concert and a bird pooped on my head.  I couldn't leave the security line to clean it up so had to wait like 45 min before I could run to the washroom and clean my hair.

@Sugargirl1019 I believe the sensitivity on the estimator Digi is 50.  At 12DPO I was only 36.  It's truly possible you are seeing lines on a pink dye & not turning a Digi cause it is too soon.

If you want to send me pics of your sticks or see mine I'm not weirded by seeing things you've peed on.
I don't mean to have you tell me I am or not, but, another set of eyes would be great! I'll PM you now. And also your sticks would be great. I'm a nurse, not much grosses me out.

    CD/DPO: 23/10

    Timing: great

Testing: tested this morning. BFN on a cheapie, not even a squinter. Will probably test every day until Monday.

R/R/CS: I’m having a hard time remembering what my cycles were like. I’ve been on BC since I was 19 so I’m not totally sure. Now I’ve had four consistent cycles of 27/28 days and it just feels too good to be true…

GTKY: What's the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you?

OMG. Hah. I have many sadly. However last summer a friend and I drove to the next city over to visit our other friend, go to the river, go have lunch and shop some. Well it’s later in the day and were just finishing up shopping when I feel sick. I start heading to the bathroom which is on the complete opposite side of the store. On my way there I have a terrible accident  :s

I have to buy new shorts, clean up and all this. When I return to my friends they asked why I changed shorts and I just told them I started my period. However on the way home my friend tells me to pull over. She had the same problem, minus the accident in the shorts. Needless to say we must of gotten food poisoning or something.

@TheJerilu OMG the drama at your wedding!!  From an outsider, it sounds pretty funny.  I'm sure you were not amused on your wedding day!
@beary67 Acccck, it was soooo embarrassing because we are 100% anti-drama people. You'll probably appreciate what he said to me the next time I saw him a few weeks later: "Hey, I just wanted to say I'm sorry..." (Me internally, "oh how mature, for once he acknowledges his total jagoff behavior -") "I'm sorry, but thank you for pairing me with your hottest bridesmaid. The other two were okay, but she was gorgeous." And that was the last time I ever spoke to him.

R/R/CS:  sooo remember how I said yesterday my chart was actually pretty this month...well I keep my BBT in my pillowcase and FI decided to be helpful yesterday when I was at work and washed the sheets and such...and my BBT!!! I couldn't even be mad bc he washed the sheets but yea..I have to go buy a new one today.

GTKY: What's the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you?
I pretty much embarrass myself daily so I'll just pick an old one - I was about 14 or 15 and was grocery shopping with my mom - we were at the lunch meat counter and the lady behind the counter cut herself on the slicer..now I didn't see anything - I just heard she cut herself and I found myself waking up on the floor ...I passed out on ShopRite underneath one of the cheese cases. I was mortified.

@Mommyforthefirsttime -  I  get super irritable during O as well.  I don’t even get that way with PMS but I notice that on the day I Ovulate, I can’t stand people and my patience runs thin which is odd for me because my patience level is pretty high normally.

Thank God it isn't just me. I narrowed it down I think to the day before I ovulate to the day after. Hard to tell for sure. But geeze. I'm awful when I am typically really easy going. Unfortunately my husband bears 99% of my anger. What a trooper. It doesn't happy with PMS for me either... I just cry with that. Ha.

I love your embarrassing story. Poor thing. I have friends that are queasy with blood and I'm so mean about it. Ha. But I worked in a hospital so it was easy for me. Now I just work with chemicals since I'm a chemist but I miss the blood...  :D

  • @canavara your story cracked me up.. I have fainting spells and while I'm sorry to hear it happened, makes me feel less alone!

    Month/cycle:
     2/2

    CD/DPO: 18/8

    Timing: -4, -2, 0

    Testing: Saturday at 12dpo

R/R/CS: Aside from some cramping at 6dpo, I have had zero symptoms. I keep looking at the percentages of bfp at (X)dpo.. Trying to justify that I can take a test sooner.

GTKY: My fainting spells were worse when my period started. In high school, I was feeling dizzy in class. I knew I was going to pass out, but I was too embarrassed to say I wasn't feeling well (BC of AF).

The bell rings, I go into the Hall where there is a rush of kids. I don't remember passing out, but I woke up with people stepping over me. Rumors spread for a few days that I was on drugs (I was not).. But that passed quickly luckily.
  • vintageandrea90 I pay a lot of money out of pocket each month for my health insurance so all of my treatment and tests so far have been covered, but I get a lifetime max of $35k towards "fertility treatments". As soon as I'm being treated by an RE, everything falls under that fertility treatment category. Seeing as each ultrasound is almost $1000, IUIs are $600-800 and IVF is $12-15k I just don't want to dip into that $35k in case we have to go that route down the line.

    @Sugargirl1019 Congrats!  H&H 9 mos!
  • First off @sugargirl1019 happy to hear you officially got a BFP! Congrats!

@ladystinson Yeah, I was really trying not to give into the fear mongering but a few other countries aside from Brazil have developed the microcephaly and other birth defects from Zika so I started to get worried. I just don't want to be selfish and keep trying when it's not safe. That's not to say it's not safe... my doctor said 2 weeks... I just feel like there's such a lack of information available right now. I'm also hoping it's like West Nile. Definitely hoping the major panic part is over soon.

@leksiL if he doesn't get any mosquito bites I'll feel so much better! My fingers are crossed that that is the case. There are lots of different mosquito sprays and wipes on Amazon if you want to check them out for your cruise! They keep selling out/being restocked so check them out early if you can!

@kiwielopingbride I wish they could test for it. DH won't know if he'll get it, I think only 20% of people who get it exhibit symptoms? There is no reliable and readily available test. Even if my doctor wanted to test him, there isn't the means yet. That's why some doctors and countries are just recommending protected sex for a certain period of time. Once the whole Zika thing started circulating in the news is when I cancelled my ticket for the cruise but it's for my MIL's 50th birthday so we both decided DH should still go. At that point we didn't know it was an STD. Ugh.

@beary67 It's so nice to hear you've also heard 2 weeks. I had never heard 6 months until last night. I'm reverting my plan to 2 weeks. Thank you!

@Marley629 Yeah, I think that's what I'll do! Thanks for the calming words during a moment of panic. I sent DH off with lots of DEET in the form of spray, wipes, etc.

  • Congrats @Sugargirl1019 !

    Month/cycle:
     5/4 (+3 NTNP)

    CD/DPO: 29/10

    Timing: -2, 0

Testing: I usually don't, but I'm going to SF this weekend to see some friends and they want to do drinks and such, so I guess Friday.  I really hate testing and am not feeling optimistic at all.

R/R/CS:  I took Unisom to sleep last night and am SO groggy.

GTKY: What's the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you? OMG... It was so bad.   I had just turned 21 and had too much to drink, threw up in a cab, and had to call my mom because I didn't have my credit card on me and the guy was obviously charging me for a cleaning.  She went and told her entire office, and also keeps reminding me 9 years later.  Awesome.  Please still be my friends, you guys.

@thejerilu If it makes you feel better...one of our groomsmen also got belligerently drunk, hit on my (married with children) aunt, and slept in our suite. He honestly slept in our suite.
@felix08  NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.  NOOOOOO. NO NOOOOOOOOO.  While I am happy to have a friend in wtf-land, I am sooooo sorry that he slept in your suite wtf ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.

    Timing: -3,-2,0

    Testing: holding out

R/R/CS: I'm a newbie just joined and trying to get involved, not sure what this is!

GTKY: What's the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you?
I was working at a retail store and I bent over to stick some shelves and *riiiiiip* my pants split from belt loop to crotch :( luckily we sold pants also and I had a jacket to tie around my waist. Eeeek!
  • @sarah1198 welcome! R/R/CS = rants/raves/chart stalk. There's a list of acronyms in the newbie thread pinned at the top of the TTGP board, not all are there but a lot of the common ones we use are!
  • @RatsPJ. Thank you, I read through it earlier and think I have most of them down but I couldn't figure that one out and am terrible at navigating this app!

R/R/CS: happy this is the first time I've ovulated in like 15 years but nervous to get my hopes up I could be having an actual cycle.

R/R/CS: This is our first month TTC #1. I'm trying to force myself not to take tests because it's probably too soon, but I can't help it… I'm happy to have found this community! Have been lurking for a while, but I've realized that it would be nice to share these experiences with people also going through it.

GTKY: What's the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you? I was peacefully enjoying a yoga class when the teacher led us through some sun salutations. As I was stretching into downward dog, my old flimsy leggins ripped at my butt and I showed the incredibly flexible and strong older woman behind me my bright red panties. Thankfully she just smiled and maintained focus on her practice… I'm not sure if anyone else noticed, I just quietly walked out of the class.
  • @emilie250 Welcome! Sorry about the BFN! I'm 9 dpo too and tested today too. Super early so I won't count either of us out yet. FX for you!
