First name for middle name Maxine

We are having a terrible time picking out a name for this middle name. Maxine is a family name (SO's grandmother), so while it's not my first pick, I'm rolling with it since it's important to him.


Names we've discussed so far:

Delilah (forever a child's name?)
Everly (is this a made up, youneek name?)
Eleanor
Laurel
Violet
Estelle
Hazel
Penelope

"Older" names seem to fit better with it, right? We are trying to avoid R and A names as our daughter's names are Rilynn and Ava.

I like Hazel best from your list. I think Ellen Maxine or Ella Maxine are better than Eleanor (the long names feel a bit stuffy with Maxine as a mn).

I actually love Everly. It was on our list of girl names but when dd was born another name won out for her.

I did not take Maxine into consideration as a middle name. I think using a family name as a middle name is great, however, I wouldn't pick a first name for my child because it "flows" better with the middle. I think there is a lot of stress with finding the perfect first and middle name combo, but in reality, middle names are rarely used. Pick your favorite name even if it may not be the perfect sounding name with Maxine.
