I was a pretty active member of my last BMB but at one point I stopped participating for about a week or so cause you know, life. Anyway I was being lazy and didn't go back to see what had been discussed while I was MIA and so I posted a new thread about Breast Pumps and Insurance Coverage and everyone went to town on Flaming me lol. Apparently this had been discussed several times during "my absence" and it really struck a chord with everyone. I remember all the GIFs and can't help but laugh...being flamed can strike a chord cause some people are really really good at making you feel stupid BUT it can also be funny because GIFs
I called it a "gender reveal" and I got flamed SUPER hard because sex is decided in the womb...but someone can choose whatever gender they'd like to be. I agree with that 100%...I was just excited to announce that I was having a girl. Whoops

I'm big on the difference between sex and gender, but FFS.

Oh man...a few years ago my very first question when I was pregnant the first time was about "boobies or bottles" and it created a sh*t storm lol. I should've been more specific in the topic statement (instead of in the body) as I was concerned about what happens when you return to work...do ladies go home for lunch to breastfeed, pump at work and hope the baby takes a bottle, switch to formula, all of the above? I was a novice and it was a genuine question because I had NO idea what the logistics were for working moms when they returned to work and I was all freaked out! Um yea...apparently people thought I was asking if it was better to breastfeed or formula feed which is a crazy hot topic not to touch. So instead of "boobies or bottles?" I should've been less cutesy and said, "How did you handle feeding you LO when you went back to work? What worked and didn't work for you?" Whoops!
Only time I really remember being flamed was asking for middle name suggestions for dd on the Names board. There were several gals who didn't like what I had already chosen for a first name and were simply making fun of that instead of suggesting middle names. I told them to not post if they weren't going to at least address the actual question. I got jumped on from there and ended up deleting the thread. I still went with the name and love it.

Lol I mean GOD FORBID you don't read the entire board and all posts before posting. *eye roll* (maybe someone even said this before, but I'm on the gd app and had to pause because I'm at work )
@SRose109her name is Khaleesi (as in Game of thrones) and went went with Vera as her middle name

Yeah I don't suppose you'd find a Khaleesi in an Austen novel. There was a woman on my last BMB who was planning to name her daughter Peaches and people wouldn't stop giving her shit about that either. Unusual names don't seem to get much love around these parts.
Meh, around my town its weird to have a a normal name, lol. Funny how relative "normal" can be.

I got flamed once for stating that I thought is was perfectly fine to turn you kid forward facing at the age of One. At the time the law in CA was 1 year old and 20 lbs. The issue is moot now because the law in CA is now 2 years old, but I got a ton of grief for it at the time.
I don't think I've personally ever been flamed (because I'm a little lurking rule follower most of the time), and if I have, I didn't notice it because IDGAF. But I posted the TTGP Graduate March check-in thread over there, and that turned into quite an ordeal. Good reading, if anyone needs some drama.
The day I posted my BFP in the TTC TWW thread, there were posts in a different thread about how upset people were about people getting BFPs who had only been trying for a few months. I know it wasn't directed at me... but considering it was posted only a few hours after my BFP (the only one that day) it made me feel pretty shitty. I had been posting regularly all of Jan/Feb in the WTO/TWW threads so I thought it was ok, but apparently it still hurt feelings. I think it was more about the high number of BFPs in late Feb/early March and it just happened that people's feeling boiled over on the day I posted. Oh well.
@AdmiralKitty I remember that day, and I definitely don't think that was directed at you. There was another poster in TWW who basically said she'd "been lurking", that was her first post and she got her BFP pretty much all in one "breath". I was crazy annoyed by that one, too. If she'd been lurking at all, she would have known that was extremely hurtful and inconsiderate.
I got flamed on the knot a few times and I tried so damn hard to follow all of the wedding etiquette rules. I seriously drove myself crazy over it. The one I remember was when I asked about providing a one-way shuttle (actually a rented school bus) from my wedding venue to the hotel so that no one would have to drive drunk. I figured people could leave their cars at the venue and car pool back the next day because everyone pretty much knew each other.
People thought it was the stupidest idea ever to have a one way shuttle. I did it anyways, it turned into a bit of a party bus, and my guests that drank too much were super appreciative. They all managed to get their cars the next day, and I only had to rent the bus for 2 hours instead of the whole damn day.

Hahaha omg I remember the Peaches drama! I always loved reading that member's posts and all the crazy ways people reacted to her
I got flamed for advising someone who had repeatedly said she didn't like her obs answers to her questions because she felt they were overly reactive and causing her anxiety in her pregnancy, to not take everything one doctor said as letter of the law and that she could always find a new doc she clicked better with. There was this member in my old bmb who had experienced a heart wrenching loss but unfortunately it made her take personal offense to any questioning of medical advice. She patrolled that board like whoa. Oh, she had a field day with me!

Right?! Remember her siggy with the flames around her breastfeeding her kid on a hillside? Oh man. She was half the reason I even hung out around that board.
I am new to these boards however I am at the firehouse trying not to eat all the delicious fresh donuts sitting out so I went and read all of that. Thanks for keeping my mind off the donuts.
I just read through that an noticed the name MamaBish near the beginning. How is she doing? (If I'm correct) she used to be in my June 15 board but unfortunately lost her lg, her name began with a C but I can't remember the whole name. I'm sure that was her user name, and I used to wonder about her but haven't been on the board a lot since my lb was born (he was at the end of the month so always felt late to the party with anything!)

MamaBish. She left TTGP for a BMB awhile back. Why don't you PM her?
