@LadySamLadyOur blender is probably my favorite appliance. We received ours as a wedding gift 4.5 years ago and have used it hundreds and hundreds of times. You need one!!
They look like giant cockroaches to me. Only way I can have them is in a smoothie so I dont have to look at them. I have been having one a day since Saturday
milk splash of bolthouse farms vanilla protein shake 6 dates banana ice cinnamon
Tastes like a vanilla milkshake. Might throw some strawberries in it tomorrow to spice it up
I mentioned to my dr about the dates and she had NO idea what I was talking about She also had no idea what stinging nettle leaf that is in every pregnancy tea was either. I am iffy about this dr...
I have the same cockroach thought and have to have mine blended too. Plus, I don't think I can do that texture. I do almond milk, ice galore, PB, banana, 6 dates, and spinach. So good.
I also find them very cockroachy. I really wish I had a blender because I can't hang with eating them anymore. I know I could just go get a blender but that takes effort.

I don't know what stinging nettle leaf tea is either. Sometimes we (health practitioners) don't find out about "alternative medicines" until our patients tell us about them because there's enough to know about mainstream medicines as it is. I don't plan to use a pregnancy tea so I haven't taken any notice of what's in them...that may be the case with this doc! I also didn't know about the dates until someone posted because it's only one study...one study doesn't make it proven and widely known about unfortunately. I also can't remember what day it is anymore
It's more than just her not knowing about dates. The woman hadn't told me anything. Thank god I have you ladies and this forum for info. She never mentioned to me about basic things that you would think a dr would mention. Like kick counts. I had to ask her if I should be monitoring it. This week I asked her how long past 40 weeks she would let me go. That's when she dropped the bomb that she won't let me go past 40'weeks. I'm 36 weeks. I wonder if I didn't ask if she would have just told me at my 39 week appointment? I just don't feel that she really is very informative or gives any time to me. And if I have to tell her one more time that yes I got my tdap and flu shots I'm gonna scream! Look at your records lady!!

Interestingly my OB didn't tell me about kick counts either and this guy is like 70! And I love him. I wonder if it's variations based on experience...like maybe they've seen women get too caught up on kick counts ending up in lots of unnecessary visits to triage? I only found out last week I'm not allowed to go to 40 weeks as well...but he had clearly known that all along based on my medical history. I've learnt sooooo much from these boards as well. I was just telling someone that the other day. It's been much more valuable than any pregnancy book I could've read for sure.
On the issue of asking the same thing over and over (like your vaccinations) that drives me nuts! I agree...read your dam records!!!
I just picked some of these up today along with raspberry leaf tea .. has these helped anyone? I didn't want to start trying anything until I started dilating and since I have I am interested to see if anything works .. lol probably not though
I've been eating my 6 a day and drinking the tea every day for about a week now. Who knows if it'll help but at this point I'll try anything! We've also been -cough- getting it on almost nightly... Though my lower back is starting to impede that. Might as well make the most of these last nights alone! I'm just READY for him to be here! This wait is more brutal than the TWW!
I started drinking the tea daily and eating more pineapple. I'm probably not going to eat dates. I tried pumping one night but it's not exactly comfy to say the least. I'm feeling more tightness, but I've had a fear all along that I wont know if I'm having contractions until it's too late. I know people say "you'll know when it's time," but I have friends and family (including my mother) who didnt know until a doctor told them they were contracting and needed to go to L&D. @kokochanel90 said the same thing.

The RRL tea and dates won't push you into labor so your fine. I can't tell if it works, dates are suppose to lead to shorter labor time and RRL tea is suppose to be good for your uterus. You can eat/drink all pregnancy and you won't go into labor because of it.

Yes! Red raspberry leaf tea is supposed to "strengthen" your uterus, which can make productive contractions more productive, and the study on dates mostly found that women who ate them dialated faster. Neither will push you into labor at all, they more just make labor quicker and more effective (anecdotally speaking) once you're there.
Yes which is what I'm hoping for because I would like to do it without an epidural .. my first was only 4 hours but I was induced and hadn't dilated at all so I'm hoping that since I'm already 2cm by the time I go into labor it will be fast

Dear LO: I'm ready. Are you?
