Hi! This is my first post to a local board so forgive me if I am posting a stupid or endlessly repeated question!
I happened to notice some earlier posts re delivering at St Joseph's with Dr Fee and wondered how it went for anyone attempting a natural delivery. (Yes, I saw the poster who was asked endlessly about an epidural...I hope that nurse is not there when I go in!) Any advice for someone who will be there soon?
And do any of you ladies use Dr Iseri as a pediatrician? I have heard some good things about him, but how are the rest of the doctor's in the practice?
TIA for any help!
Re: Anyone deliver w/ Dr Fee at St Josephs or use Dr Iseri for ped?
Dr. F was my OB for dd1 and she was fine. The on call dr. delivered me so I can't say how she was during actual delivery. I'm not sure how to explain it other than the whole experience was just fine... never awful or wonderful, ya know? I chose a different dr. for dd2 which suited me better but I should also say that my insurance changed as well. There's a girl in her office which I actually dreaded coming into contact with each time I went in. We used Iseri's office while in the hospital but changed afterwards which was planned beforehand as we had a St. Jude Pedi already picked out who was much closer to us.
A friend recommended Dr. F to us and she loved her. Also, I know 5dogs on here used her as well and loved her and all of her staff. Best of luck!
It was not just one nurse who was asking about getting me an epidural - it was several. I went to a patient round table after the fact and they said they are working on getting staff to stop pestering patients when they've made their wishes known... so if you want to go natural, make it clear if you want meds, you will ask for them. Be aware though if you change your mind that most of their scheduled c-sections start at 8am so you may be waiting a while for an epi if you ask for it within an hour or so of either side of 8am.
Dr. Fee was fine with my plans for an all natural hypnobabies delivery - she signed off allowing me to go without an IV in my birth plan and what not... but as I previously stated, I was induced due to my water breaking and full labor not following which meant I had to have an IV. I ended up getting an epidural after 16 hours into the induction (day three of labor) because my Crohns disease was making the contractions worse and I just needed to give myself some rest. She was very supportive and came in mid-day while she was in the office seeing patients to deliver me (21 hours after my induction began).
