We had girl and boy names picked our before we even got pregnant, but we had a long time to discuss it. The only thing we didn't have was the boy's middle name, which we now have.
@laurenmdrn16 If we had a girl her middle name was going to be Ruby.

Mama to Three Girls:
Twins born March 2014 at 26 weeks due to preterm labor
and our 37weeker born May 9th, 2016!
If we were having a boy I'm pretty sure we still wouldn't have a set name.
We can't seem to agree on anything. He likes Bryce and I do not. I like Dylan and he does not. We know his middle name will be Richard after late FIL but that's all we've got. Our last name is very long and starts with a B which is why I'm so against Bryce. Well that and I just don't like it. Lol. And we need something that goes well with Faith because that's DDs name. Sigh. The struggle is real. Names are hard.

I just remember how much I loved Arthur/Artie and I want to feel that again. It fits our son so well. Funny thing is we didn't come up with that name until about this time too.

Does anyone else wish they could get to know their kid for at least a couple weeks before picking out a name? I worry we'll pick one out that will end up not fitting their personality at all.
Been married since 2009.
Unicornuate Uterus (yes I menstruate glitter)
Several MCs
DD born 2013 (our miracle "you can't have babies" baby!)
Equally frustrating is that we also need to decide on the last name. We plan to hyphenate but are unsure which name should be first (we both use our original last names only). And we might have another kid so we're trying to figure out what sounds best in general and not just for the first (yet unnamed) baby. It's a lot of pressure! Sigh.
I feel weird about talking about names or picking one out before the baby is born - like I'm jinxing something by discussing it. So, we'll likely narrow down the list to a few while I'm in labor and then pick the name out sometime between birth and discharge.

We were lucky I guess to have had plenty of time to think about it. Last year, we drove down to Florida for Christmas, which meant 24hrs in the car within less than twonfeet of each other. So we had made a short list of our favourites for both boy and girl, and even managed to pick out a #1 we agreed on. We had more issues with choosing the spelling- Eliott vs Elliot vs Elliott. We ended up deciding (this was confirmed last night) on Eliott so we can use 'Eli' for short. Also, there's an awesome series of french books called Eliott, and I argued that it'd suck to get him a whole book collection with his name written 'wrong'. I won
@yogahh - one of our possible girl middle names is Rose, after my great grandma. I love it, it's so pretty! But then we'll be skipping my mom's family tradition of giving every girl either Marie or Anne as the middle name. Oh well, might be time to move beyond tradition.
