Question about baby's head?

My 2 month old daughter has two like dips on the top of her head. Like you can feel a dip then bone then another dip. It's not her soft spot. It's to the right of her soft spot. Obviously nothing has happened to her head. And I've read that it could be just a flat spot and that some babies heads are just shaped weird sometimes. I am going to ask her doctor about it when I go but was just wondering if anyone has dealt with this.

DS2 had dips on both sides of his head. I figured it was normal, but DH and my MIL were both concerned about it. So I asked my MW about it, and she said his dips were just places where his skull hadn't fully formed yet...much like a soft spot. His are mostly gone now though. I would guess that it's probably normal, but definitely ask about it to be sure. GL!

  • You asked this last week and mentioned you were taking her to the doctor. Did you not go? I remember saying maybe it was dehydration. And others said it might be the skull plate not forming yet. Maybe I'm wrong but last time you mentioned it was just one dip in the head but now it is two. We can't help you, so you really should take her to the pedi...
  • I was wrong. You did say two dips in the last post. Because this is the same exact post with a different title to it.
  • I'm confused with the double post as well........
  • Thanks for the reply. I am definitely going to ask about it at her appt. Was just seeing if anyone else has dealt with this until her appt.
  • Sorry about the double post. I was trying to edit the other one and it wouldn't let me and then I tried deleting it and it wouldn't let me so I just made another one. I called and made an appt. The nurse didn't seem that concerned. But I'm going in next week. She said dehyration makes their soft spot sunken but this isn't her soft spot and I know she isn't dehydrated because she nurses fine and is other wise very happy. She has no other symptoms. Sorry again about the double posts.
  • Keep us updated, I'm sure she's fine, baby heads can be a bit wonky!
  • Try doing a little searching on cranial sutures. I have a feeling this is what you're feeling. Sometimes they can be very pronounced.
  • @andreaAL11 @elbou @Mizuiro007Update: took my daughter to the Dr and they said her head was fine. The sutures can sometimes stick out a bit. She felt her soft spot and everything was fine!
  • You seem to be very concerned about lo's head in a variety of ways. Just curious if it's coincidence or what. Not being snarky- genuinely curious

@blended10I'm at ftm. I'm also in the medical field. I see all kinds of stuff. But I still just like to make sure everything is ok. Can't help but worry. But I'm getting better at it.
