Re: April FET buddies

  • @Rachnan My ET was supposed to be following my ER as well and we had to wait because my progesterone was high and my ovaries were unsettled. I was upset too at the time but after it took me so much longer to feel back to normal after the ER, I looked at it as a blessing. My body will be so much more prepared for the ET this way! FX for you.  :)

  • Rachnan  - sorry to hear about your delay! I agree with @LeanneB82 though... You will be glad you waited. I had OHSS after my ER and there is no way I could have done the transfer after. Giving my body time to readjust has been really good. Yes I feel like the process has taken forever but I'm still glad I gave my body time to rest in between.

  • Thank you all for your responses!  We are actually doing an FET, ER was almost a month ago at this point.  I'm very happy I didn't try to do it right after ER as I had a mild case of OHSS!

  • Hi all. Thank you for the responses. My FET went well and I am PUPO with my embabies. Now the waiting game until the 15th for my beta. I was told that I shouldn't lift anything greater than 10 lbs until at least my first beta. So I guess no work for me until then. I was also told not to overdue it with too much bed rest but we'll see how my body responds. I will keep you all updated.

@Rachnan I was in a similar situation. The time will go by fast, before you know it May will be here.FX for you.

FX for everyone on this journey

  • How are you feeling, @halips and @WishingforLuck? Are you both as totally insane as I am right now? I hope not, for the people around you's sakes.

I'm not insane, really, I'm just so focused on every possible symptom I could maybe have and if it means something or not. And the huge huge huge long wait for my beta doesn't help. EXCEPT. I looked on the portal for my clinic, and my bloodwork on the 11th has an HCG Beta listed, even though my calendar just shows it as bloodwork with the PREGNANCY TEST highlighted on the 15th.

So maybe I won't need to wardial POAS every morning for the next week. Maybe. :)

My bloodwork this morning came in just fine, and so I'm just supposed to keep on doing what I'm already doing. Which I'll do, obviously. I just wish there were something more ACTIVE I could be doing to convince my embaby to settle in for a long, long visit.  The TWW is brutal, ladies.

  • @mela615  I'm doing ok! Still really positive and upbeat. Trying not to symptom spot and make myself crazy, but that's hard :) I will say that this time around everything has been so much better...easier and just feels so different. I'm hoping this is a good sign!
Makes sense that they would do your beta on the 11th rather than 15th. Hoping that's the case for real!!

  • @mela615 I'm doing ok thanks for asking. How about you?
Well so for I don't think I'm going too crazy but I know it will kick in soon. I hear you on doing what you're already
doing. I also wish there was something more active to keep my embabies to settle for a long visit. How have you been doing with foods (i.e. what to avoid and what you can consume)? At least your beta got moved up FX.

    @halips I totally agree
it has been so much easier and feels so different. FX

@LynnNJ I was in the same boat. My FET was scheduled for the end of March but my lining wasn't thick enough so they scheduled it for April. My lining 2 weeks ago was 7 and last week it was slightly above 10. My last lining check was I think a week ago today. Hope that helps FX for you. Your time will come soon!

Glad the rest of you are all feeling ok after transfer and trying to keep busy. You would think we would be experts at waiting. I was just telling a friend this week that the 7-8 weeks between ER & FET has been so hard b/c I feel like all I do is wait. I get why my RE does it but it doesn't make the wait any longer!

With my FET scheduled for the 12th, my 10 day beta would be on April 22 which is the day before my SIL's (who is also one of my best friends) baby shower out in CA. She got knocked up in the middle of this process for us from a one night stand and of course the baby shower is the day after we are supposed to find out whether or not all of this has worked after 2 years or trying to get pregnant. While I am thrilled to be an aunt, we've already told everyone that there is a possibility we won't be at the shower. I'm trying not to stress out too much about it & focus on the positive that hopefully we will be pregnant and it will be a nonissue. ok... end rant. LOL

  • @halips - they have been really understanding. I think the reason I'm so torn is b/c I really do want to be there to support SIL at her shower but I just can't guarantee that I am emotionally going to be able to do that. Then again, I really don't care that much if they are upset about it. I've had to learn through this process that its ok for me to look after myself first right now. Just like I can't expect their lives to stop b/c of what we are going through, they can't expect mine to either.

  • Hi All! I'm new to this board. I'm in the midst of it all-  I went in on Monday for a blood test and u/s and they said to start the estrogen yesterday. So now I'm doing Lupron and estrogen.  I was supposed to be doing the FET in March, but I got bit by a spider that delayed the whole thing (Yes, I know how strange that sentence is).  I go back in on April 14 for a blood test/ultrasound to see what next.  They haven't given us a date for the transfer yet, and I'm not really sure when to anticipate it being.   It seems like waiting is the name of the game around here!

@Griffin5413 Good luck with the family situation! We waited until we were in the middle of the egg retrieval cycle before we finally told my husband's sisters. We'd told both our parents a couple months earlier. Sometimes I think we'd be better off if we hadn't shared! But I agree with you on doing what you need to do for you right now. @griffin5413 I have cousins who got preggers 2 months or so after starting to try, their shower is a month after our beta and I already told my aunt that if things do not go as hoped I will probably not be at their shower. I feel badly, but I am just not sure that I can do it. I cried the whole day after he called to let me know they were expecting. We have to do only what we are capable of at the moment. For some reason this announcement is the one that stung the hardest. But you are right, I told them the same thing you mentioned, they shouldn't put their lives on hold because of what we are going through - and at the same time I won't compromise my emotional well-being with something that is currently not healthy for me.

@gatorlorit welcome and good luck! I agree one more reason to not like spiders!!

@WishingforLuck I haven't been told about specific foods I should eat now,  but I would love to know if there is something. I have a nutrition  counseling appointment on Monday, so I hope to find out more. My regular gyn gave me a list of things to avoid after pregnancy.
  • @LynnNJ same thing here I wasn't told either. Please keep me updated after your appointment on Monday. Until then I will keep googling everything I plan on eating (lol).

  • @LynnNJ Maybe ask about the patches in addition to the estrace. I do both. My RE has me taking the estrace vaginally instead of orally, better absorption he says. So if you aren't doing that, I'd ask about it too! Anything that can help move you forward!! Fx!

@WishingforLuck do you mean foods that are supposed to "help" with implantation? Or just things to eat/not eat in general?  I know they say pineapple core, brazil nuts, walnuts, avocado and raspberry leaf tea are all supposed to help. I've also heard no cold food, only warm (including water). Whether this is proven or old wives tales I don't know. I've heard lots of people swear by it and just as many say it's a hoax. However, if it won't hurt you, why not?! I've been eating pineapple with the core, and drinking the tea each day, and eating avocado. Otherwise, I've just been focusing on eating a healthy diet. Don't make yourself too crazy though, you don't need that stress! :)

  • halips  - a friend gave me a book about eating through your pregnancy. I haven't really had a chance to look at it yet but I will check it out when I get home and let you know the title. She really liked it b/c it told her things to eat through each week that were good for the baby's development. I want to say it was:

  • @halips I was looking for foods to avoid, thanks for the info. Yeh I'll try not to make my self crazy. Thanks!

  •   I seriously think there is no way to not be crazy with this. Because my crazy is just getting....crazier. :)

I found my dollar store tests that I had hidden from myself a while ago. I have an FRER 2-pack that I'll use maybe on Tuesday morning before my first beta. I keep debating with myself if there's any good thing to come out of taking a dollar store test every morning, but I'm thinking that way lies madness. But like I said above, I'm making myself crazy. :)

  • @mela615 - I haven't decided yet if I am going to test after transfer. I want to say that I will wait but I really don't know that I can. Plus I really want to see that line on the test that says pregnant. Something about that will make me feel at least a little normal in the process. Like I can pretend for a minute that we got pregnant without all of this help   Can't wait to hear about the BFP's ladies!

@Griffin5413 I'm still sore from yesterday's shot! I'm using the heating pad after the shot and trying to sleep another hour or so, which helps a bit.

As for me,  still crazy. My progesterone was 23, and my nurse wants it over 30, so I'm going to have to take 2ccs of PIO starting tomorrow.  (I was on 1.5ccs)

My beta is Monday, not Tuesday! I have been referring to my FET calendar instead of a real calendar,  and apparently I can't figure out what day is what.  I've held off on POAS so far, but I think I might try one FRER tomorrow and one Monday before I go in. I've been hanging on to those since before we started the whole IVF process,  and they expire in June anyway.  My boobs are sore,  everything makes me cry,  and I hope it's baby and not just the meds making me so angsty!

Best timing ever... :)
