I don't think bleeding is ever considered 'normal' really but there could be many unharmful reasons for it. Deffinitely call your doctor or go to the hospital if you haven't already.

I wouldn't head to the hospital for this. A little brown spotting is generally not an emergency.
Give your OB a call but I was always told that some occasional mild spotting, especially brown and not bright red, can be totally normal especially if you've had sex recently.
