When does the hair pulling phase end? DS seriously tries to yank out my hair every day. Does this end soon or do I need to pull a Britney and shave my head?
Mine just turned 9 months, and he is still pulling, but mostly when he is tired or wants to get your attention. When he is sleepy, he pulls my hair and sings himself to sleep. My hair usually stays up in a bun because of this. My little hairs on the neck get pulled often.
He also pulls his brothers hair if his brother won't pay attention to him.
They are at the age where they understand or will soon understand "NO" so we tell him "no,no" when he does it. Sometimes he listens, other times he thinks no is funny and laughs.
DD is getting better about it, but she still will get some strands here and there. I try to mostly wear my hair up because I don't want to have to cut it short. I realized that it wouldn't really matter how short I went, she could still pull it... because DH has super short hair and she still gets him. Yeah, SO not going that short!
You should also try replacing the undesired behavior with a preferable one. So, when they pull your hair, help them make a flat hand and touch gently, saying "gentle".
