Why my pregnant self is crying.

Call me crazy but I swear my dog knows I am pregnant. Last time around he started laying at my waist and just stared at me. "looking into my soul" as I call it! But he was doing this again before I got my BFP, another reason I was convinced but H thought I was nuts. Anyway, he is normally quite the snuggler, but lately he is a leech and always laying his head over my belly. It makes me tear up and cry every time because I think to myself how sweet it is if he really does know.

I'm fairly certain they can tell something is different (our smell changes while pregnant) and that they have a more or less instinctive desire to take greater care of us while pregnant, even if they don't necessarily conceptually understand that we're going to have a baby soon. 

Every time I've been pregnant, my cats have gotten super clingy. Our oldest cat (almost 18) clung to me during my pregnancy with our oldest and she's never too far from me now. It seems to be limited to the mammals. My birds don't seem to care. Although there was one really funny moment when I was pregnant with my daughter; my Quaker, who was standing on my abdomen, chirped really loudly and my daughter jumped, moving the bird. It scared the crap out of my poor parrot.

@kilgravemademedoit I totally agree there has to be smell or hormonal changes that they sense, even if its not "knowing" that there is an actual baby coming. Both of my dogs are cuddle bugs, but its almost as if they have reversed roles since Ive gotten pregnant. One, Banner, is usually up my butt, follows me everywhere and typically throws my phone or paperwork off my lap to constantly have my attention. He has been avoiding me and its killing me! Also, hes been giving attention to my husband which is bizarre and making me crazy jealous. The other, Parker, is a snuggler on and off, but now hes literally a leech and has shown protection over me. Hes also a terrible listener despite his huge ears, but I think hes been on better behavior lately too! My dogs are definitely my babies! 

I just laughed at your poor parrots expense! I am hoping Parker continues to lay his head on my belly so he can feel movement too! I actually bought him off a litter my friends dogs had, and she has one of his brothers who looks just like him with the same markings and she posted pictures her entire pregnancy of him laying around her belly and all I have thought is how precious it was. AND now Im tearing up thinking about it.

Some kid at subway cut my sandwich wrong.... It was messy and I couldn't hold it together. My husband died laughing.

Umm, Married at First Sight (because the couple I liked didn't stay together), Modern Family when Claire was upset about not being able to make sandwiches for her kids because of her job, and I rewatched Inside Out, and totally teared up when Bing Bong and Joy are trying to get out of the Memory Dump.

@MissAmeliaPond I thought it was just H and I (and my BIL and SIL who got us hooked on it)!  Me too, this week, but I feel like I can't blame that on anything KU-related bc I'm naturally a movie/TV crier.  My heart was breaking for Vanessa!!!!

I saw a spider. Instead of just having H get rid of it for me, I decided to cry about it instead.

I told H I loved him, then I cried because I love him.

I didn't know if I wanted a chicken sandwich or a bison burger, so I cried.  Ended up going with the chicken sandwich.

UPDATE: I cried because my toddler is an a-hole. He made a ginormous mess of his breakfast and loves to throw food over the side of his highchair and thinks it's HILARIOUS to pour his milk all over my dining room carpet, he just pushed the entire highchair over with the remains of it on it, and then I swear to God as I'm standing here typing this, he pushed a wooden stool over onto my bare toes. He is now yanking baby wipes out one by one and laughing hysterically and he throws them in the air.

I mean, WTF am I thinking having another one? I just have to laugh. I HAVE TO.

The driver behind me honked at me because I wouldn't turn right with a pedestrian in the crosswalk.  I was correct, yet still, tears.

TV has been a land mine for me the last couple days as well, but I'm still sitting here watching the last few episodes of the final season of Friends.  Danger!  Danger!

Gallifrey, our cockatoo, stepped up onto my hand and snuggled me. He usually vastly prefers my husband and I have an inordinate amount of angst about this.

I just watched The Family Stone and cried like a little girl. My dd couldn't figure out why I was a blubbering mess so gave me cuddles which made cry even harder.

At our school's Spirit Parade (I'm a high school teacher) there was a club of students who coordinate events for those with special needs. A few special needs students were walking with them in the parade. I cried and I'm crying again now thinking about it.

This morning I had the brilliant idea to stop by the puppy adoption at Petsmart, because it was "on the way" from the errands I was running. Ugh, all of the beautiful puppies! I need them!

My mother asked if I could come to Vermont for a week to housesit while her and my dad go to England for my aunts wedding in August. It wouldn't be a big deal if it wasn't two months before my due date and I live 9 hours away. I also hate the idea of just leaving my husband for a week. I'm just frustrated that it feels like she doesn't seem to understand I will not be in the position to travel like that so late.

Omfg, we did this today too! Husband was pushing for one, I fell in love with another. Then I realized as a SAHM I'd be the one picking up all day. With a toddler, cat and giant belly.

I went and had my nails re-done since I have clinical tomorrow and there's pretty strict rules about nail polish (can't be older than 4 days, nails must be short, etc.) I brought my daughter (5) with me and we made an evening out of it. She got her nails painted - it's like $5 for a kid - and she was so well-behaved and just super sweet with everyone there. She was chatting with the lady sitting beside her and with the manicurist. She did exactly as instructed and didn't move a muscle for ten minutes while her nails dried. She's a really hyper kid generally so to see her just be calm and sweet like that was a rare treat. Made me all misty to see how much she's grown.

I made it to 6w6d before my first emotional meltdown. I was in Atlanta for a conference and I woke up covered in bug bites (I assume bed bugs). My eyes were swollen half shut and I was covered head to toe in itchy bites. I kept it together while the nice staff helped me move rooms at 4am. I continued to my conference for the day. When it was time to check out I realized that I had left my notes for school in the old room and I have a test tomorrow. I went to the manager to see if they could find them and had a complete meltdown. The poor guy didn't even see it coming. They ended up digging my entire binder out of the hotel garbage and sanitizing it for me. Worst weekend out of town ever. Im still covered in spots. Going to the dermatologist tomorrow!

worked an extra 12 hour shift today and only got to see my son for an hour before bed. When I get home from the long shifts, he always runs to me, but I run to take my scrubs off first (too many germs in the hospital) and he chased me down the hallway yelling "momma". Then when he caught up to me, he stood there and waved and said "momma" in a really quiet sweet voice. And crying again...

Spent an hour making my new favorite noodle dish Sunday night (I have celiac disease and miss Chinese food more than anything and my sister found me these amazing gluten free noodles). I usually make half the package which is 2 servings but I made double this time so I would have leftovers/so my SO wouldn't eat them all. Took the small container to work yesterday for lunch (1/4 servings). This morning looked in the fridge and the other 3 servings were gone! SO took them to work and so while he gets to eat my favorite meal today (and yesterday) THAT I SPENT AN HOUR MAKING I get to figure out what I can eat for lunch (again, not easy thanks to the celiac disease). Also he ate half a pizza for breakfast in front of me. And then complained about it. Yummy, gluten filled pizza. I was bawling.

Now to figure out how he'll make this up to me...

Sigh. Last nights Agents of SHIELD got me this morning.  I had tears rolling off my face, snot everywhere, audibly sobbing.  And I couldn't stop it!  Even for a few minutes after it was over.  And I read up when I think about it now.
