Preston too preppy?

So I'm in love with the name Preston but now I'm hearing that it's super preppy or pretentious. What's your opinion?

I don't think so. I actually kind of get a country feel to it (in a good way). But that's probably because the only Preston I've ever known is the son of a handy man and he loved to work right along side his daddy. He was so cute! I like the name!

I think it's great! There is a radio show in my area and one of the announcers is named Preston - always thought i sounded nice!

I think of Britney Spears' son. His name is technically Sean Preston but whenever she talks about him, she only refers to him as Preston. I think it's fine!

When I think of "pretentious" I think of a name that would be used on a soap opera- like Blake, Palmer, Walker, Blair, Langston

I have a Preston

I remember reading that some people view it as "preppy", but I decided not to worry about it. Your loved ones will eventually think of your child when they hear the name, even if they previously pictured a little prepster. If he is preppy, then people might continue that association haha!

I had a student named Preston a few years ago. He was wonderfully polite and very intelligent. My only other connotation with the name is Preston from Can't Hardly Wait - one of the best movies to come out of the late 90s, hands down.
