Well here goes the update. Going home for the time being. BP went down enough to where the doctor said it's probably just stress. There was a little protein in my urine so I have to do a 24 hour collection and come back tomorrow. I was apparently having regular contractions, but nothing I could actually feel so they did a cervical check and said I'm not dialated at all and cervix is still high so no risk there.
They also did an ultrasound to check size, fluid, etc. The kicker to all this... We found out little Clara is actually little Corbin. So we definitely had quite the shock today. And a bunch of phone calls to make and returns/exchanges to handle for clothes. Lol.

OMG no way! I feel so bad for you. But also a little amused! That would have been a shock at birth....
Glad you got to go home though!! Hope all is well!

NOOOOOOOOOO........ I ask the tech at EVERY scan to check that she still doesnt have a penis. While this isnt the worst thing in the world, it is a major shock!
Do you think people will notice if I wear the same pants 4 days in a row every week until the baby is born? I plan to wash them. Haha. But I only have one pair of nice maternity pants and my belly bands are uncomfortable and annoying at this point..... I really don't want to buy new pants with this little time left
I have 2 pairs of pants that still fit for work. I rotate them all week. I may throw in a pair of nice leggings if the pants are dirty.
Me too! 2 pairs of "treggings" pants and a pair of "fancy" leggings (ie, not the ones I lounge/sleep in). And I have 5 shirts on rotation, all blousy tunics. We got an email today that our CEO and Chairman of the Board will be visiting tomorrow and so I have to figure out which of the 3 tops that I haven't worn yet this week looks the most professional over leggings. Or I can just hide all day...

Oh my goodness, what a shocker! This has happened to SEVERAL friends of mine...and it always seems to be that originally they were told girl to then find out that the baby is in fact a boy, I've only heard of it going the opposite direction once before. Glad you have time to let that sink in and to make those exchanges and phone calls!

Hah! So you're the reason everyone keeps saying "well you NEVER know!"
We're definitely in a bit of shock still. The ultrasound tech there seemed super sorry... She wasn't the one who goofed the first time but anyway. We're on our way home now and I need to go through all the stuff we just got this weekend to see what is manageable and what is not. I don't think 'Daddy's Girl' onesies are going to go over so well anymore.
It's going to be a bit of an adjustment seeing as we've gotten so used to it being a girl over the past few months, but at this point we're just glad everything is ok for the time being and that baby is healthy.
And yes it is definitely very obvious that it is definitely a boy so no more mistakes there. Just glad we found out before he was born. Lol.
@dsmith211 It sounds like you've had quite a day! I'm glad you're taking the news in stride; I'm sure it was quite a shock. Fx that your 24 hour test yields good results.
@bshurdy this is what I have too! I call it my little volcano. I haven't had any interest in cleaning it though, it can stay a dirty little belly button.

Congrats on the baby boy! What a huge shocker! Nice to know now and give yourself a little time to prepare than to find out at birth! My son asks every time to make sure that our baby still has a penis! He's always stressing he may turn into a she.
Lol the bottom of where my belly button ring use to be is indented and sticking out. So it kinda looks like I have 2 innies honesty, I regret getting a belly button ring, if only I knew it would look this weird pregnant. Sigh.
I still have my belly ring in. It looks kinda weird but I wanted to keep it pierced.

@dsmith211 Wow!! What a surprise! At least you found out before he was born, so you can be prepared for it. I hope you haven't finished your nursery yet? I can't remember if I've seen posts from you on that thread or not.

I took mine out 3 years ago when we got married. The ring looked weird poking out of my wedding dress and it never healed properly after 4 years!! So, now I have a nice scar from the top hole not to mention the cute stretch marks around it.
omg @dsmith211 that's absolutely CRAZY! I've been somewhat nervous this was going to happen to me or someone on this BMB but good thing you found out now and not once he was born. If my boy turns out to be a girl I hope she likes blue!

Wow, @dsmith211 that is quite a shocker! You seem to be taking it in stride! Good for you
My random of the day is I am sitting here bumping while my H makes dinner. He's listening to music, dancing a bit while he cooks and sometime tonight we will have bison meatloaf Just really happy right now watching him in the kitchen.

Thankfully DH hasn't gotten too far on the nursery front. He did actually start painting yesterday, but it's all good. He's actually out buying new paint right now. Lol.
And like I said, were both still pretty shocked but we figured if this is one of the worst things that could happen then we consider ourselves lucky. They said baby is very healthy so that's all that matters. And of course we now have the hilarious story we can tell him one day that we thought he was a girl all along. My mom already joked that it's probably why he kicks me so much bc he was tired of being called a girl. Lol.
I think DH was a little disappointed at first bc he wanted his little girl, but on the way home he started getting all excited about all the 'boy' things he gets to do with him now so hopefully any disappointment will be short lived.
The weirdest thing is too is that out of I think 800 plus births at my birth center they said that we are literally only the 3rd couple this has happened to. So any of you worried... I wouldn't bc it's extremely rare. My midwife definitely said we have a special one. And I guess all things do happen for a reason bc had I not had to go down to L&D today I wouldn't have known till he got here.
Ahhh it figures that TB would finally take away the ads just when I finally decide to figure something out to circumvent them. So much for sticking it to the man in my own teensy way. :P
What @missnc77 said x1000. I swear I throw a mini tantrum in my head now each time I have to get dressed and deal with The Public. Pregnancy has turned my usual mild introvertedness into full on hermit mode and if you're not DH, my mom, or my doctor I really don't want to have to make the extra effort, you know? Putting on pants is harrrrrrd. Those of y'all who are still doing it deserve all the awards.
I don't expect to be getting a third tri ultrasound because I've been fairly low risk thus far, and wasn't planning on going to get an elective one done elsewhere at all...but I'm feeling mighty tempted now after reading @dsmith211's story. 0.0 Glad that you caught it now and that you're back at home and hopefully it all was just a stress thing like your doctor said!
In addition to never wanting to get dressed anymore (especially for work... reallllly pushing the limits of business attire these days), I've had such a short fuse lately. I can seriously barely keep it together at work and not snap at people, including my boss who has been a total twatwaffle. I was at my limit at a late afternoon meeting with her today and I seriously had to talk myself down from biting her head off when she contradicted me and presented my earlier point as if it was the first time it came up. 3.5 more weeks until my due date... just have to keep looking ahead!

I went through (actually still go through) this a couple weeks ago and they said I was in labor but not bc I wouldn't dilate. I wouldn't dilate with DD1 either. I was at a 2 after my water broke and refused to progress. Gets frustrating.
Been married since 2009. Unicornuate Uterus (yes I menstruate glitter) Several MCs DD born 2013 (our miracle "you can't have babies" baby!)

Yes! my patience is shot...even when nothing bad is happening. I am much more blunt than usual, even if just in my head. I bought my first car today and totally enjoyed the negotiation experience, which isn't really me. I totally would have walked out if he didn't meet me at my number. His loss! but he wised up and took my offer! This pregnant lady is far from a pushover.
Mama to Three Girls: Twins born March 2014 at 26 weeks due to preterm labor and our 37weeker born May 9th, 2016!
STMs and more/really educated people: How long before labor did you start or can you start having real contractions? I'm not concerned, and I would call my OB if I was, but I've been having what seem to be more like real contractions in the last few days. I've had BH for several months but these are different. Just curious to know if it was possible to have them for weeks without actually being in labor.
@aehogan90 I think generally the closer you get to labor the more intense the BH will become since your uterus is getting ready. You can also be in false or prodromal labor for weeks before real labor starts. So yes it's possible!
I have been researching devices that have USB ports but are still fairly small for DH's Father's Day gift and I finally found one and got it ordered. I'm going to upload all of his books onto it and going to transfer home videos of the baby and put them onto flash drives and include them in DH's monthly care packages. He's going to be SO excited. Our only means of communication for the past two months and for the next 9 months is via email when the server decides to work, so this way he gets to "communicate" with the baby and be as involved in the next several months as possible and can watch videos over and over again when he gets a free moment. So excited to send it to him along with his first set of videos (my mom wants to record certain parts of labor/1st moments with baby...nothing waist down obviously).
Ugh. So not sleeping tonight... And definitely need to wait a few days before I start going through the baby stuff. I was fine until I tried doing that and then as soon as I started I definitely ugly cried for a little bit looking at all the clothes (the Daddy's Little Princess one definitely did me in). Then felt like a horrible person and cried more bc I got this stupid feeling the new baby isn't going to feel loved or something bc he's a boy and we were expecting a girl.
So now I'm chilling on the couch about as far away from baby stuff as I can get. I can't even deal right now.
@dsmith211 Don't feel bad about it. It is a HUGE shock, and it will take some time to adjust to it. Once you hold that little boy in your arms you will fall madly in love. And you will be HIS love!! But right now, allow yourself time to process it and feel all the feelings. It doesn't mean you won't love him, it doesn't mean you'll be a bad mom. It just means you had been told (by a professional!) something else and you had mentally and emotionally prepared yourself for that, so it's going to take a little time. But you will be ok. More than ok.
For what it's worth, I STILL don't believe I'm having a girl. Like, I'm convinced the same thing is going to happen to me. Part of it is that my MIL is desperate for a girl in the family (all sons, all grandsons), part of it is that I know the girl to boy mistake happens more frequently (I have a friend it happened to) and part is that I already have a son who I adore more than life, so imagining a girl is just harder. It scares me because I'm not sure how I would handle it if they told me suddenly it was a boy. I know I would love him, but I would probably have a breakdown first!
@dsmith211 that is a shock! I'm glad you were able to find out (even if not under the best circumstances) before he got here; it gives you some time to get used to it. It makes perfect sense to me to feel... well I don't want to put words into your mouth about how you're feeling. But when you've gone along thinking that something is happening one way and then suddenly it's not, it's bound to take some adjusting to. Much love to you and your DH and your little boy.
