@swfljd If you can email everyone who attended both showers, you can contact everyone with a note to thank your mystery gifter:) Explain that it showed up at your door with no sender information, and that you can only guess that whoever sent it wanted to remain anonymous, but that you'd like to return  the favor by thanking them anonymously.

Process of elimination won't work because many people give multiple gifts and some give none. So I'd say err on the side of a universal thank you.
That's a good idea.  I may send an email to those whose email addresses I have.  However, several of the invitees and attendees were elderly and don't use email.  But, I might get lucky and it be someone who does email.  Thanks for the suggestion!

  • TMI, maybe, but is anyone else pooping a lot more lately? It's not diarrhea or anything, but I feel like I'm pooping all the time now.

  • The other thing here is that if you've sent thank you notes to everyone then you might be covered. While I totally understand wanting to know who it came from, if people who sent the big stuff also gave you something small then while you may not have directly thanked for that specific item you have still acknowledged that they gave a gift... So maybe your off the hook and you'll find out eventually and then you can thank them specifically at that time? And you'll laugh about it together. Just a thought??

Yup. Constantly. MH is shocked at how much toilet paper I'm going through and has threatened to ration it out.
  • learned last night that only 12% of women's water breaks. that stat tripped me out, i thought it was way higher since my three friends who have given birth in the last 6 mo all had their water break and then go into labor.
  • @wsgjmw1 I was surprised to learn that as well in my birthing class back in February. I thought it was typical to have you water break at home and that be the "I'm going into labor!" sign along with contractions. But she said for many women, it doesn't happen this way and most women get their waters broken at the hospital.

Yep... Everything is getting squished and relaxed. Normal.

  • @swflJD I had the same thing happen ... gift and no packing slip to say who had sent it.  I posted a picture of it on Facebook and said "thank you to whoever sent this awesome present for LO!  Target did not want to reveal your identity but we appreciate it!!"  The friend who had sent it saw the post and texted me.  IDK if that will work for you.
  • My perinatologist's office is on the same floor as one of the biggest fertility clinics in the city. Their big glass doors and windows are right in front of the elevator so I have to stand there all super pregnant waiting for the elevator while a lobby full of women desperate to be pregnant give me death glares. I want to shout "I've been where you are! It worked for me and it will work for you!" But instead I avoid eye contact and will the elevator to come sooner.
  • @amovin21 everything i have read said that 37 weeks on is considered full term. Before i got let go 37 was my favorite number.  I so wanted out of there.  But now that I've had to get a whole new job 41 is the goal and anything less then 40 freaks me out. Need to work!

That seems like really poor planning!! What a horrible thing for people with fertility issues to have to constantly see pregnant women. Horrible!

I accidentally locked my cat in the bathroom today.  Luckily DH got home early because he was at a training so the cat was only in there for 4 hours instead of longer.  DH said when he let him out our cat was kind of bewildered but otherwise fine, but I feel terrible.  My poor baby. :(

  • @mcb2016 I'm glad all is well!

I just want to say, I finally took the time to catch up on this thread and it took me THREE days!

On another note, I still cannot view my feed by post date and it's super annoying! I've messaged @BumpAdmin and NOTHING. There has to be something wrong with their site and App.

I once locked my cat in a closet for 10 hours while I was at work :( Tou would think she would stay away from closets now right? Not so much. I have ocd almost every day about it and triple check for her before I leave the house every day.

@mcb2016 Soynds like a tough kid! I'm glad all is okay!

@tgortney I had the exact same experience at 34 weeks. Nothing...and then BAM swelling and cankles. .if I drink my water and eat my oatmeal every morning, that seems to help me at least.

  • My OB is out on maternity leave sooner than I thought/ hoped she would be  :'(   The other OB in the practice is nice too but I like mine better. She just got me. You know? And now doctors appointments take so much longer because they're trying to cram all the patients in and they get backed up. Grrrr

  • My MIL did not get that I didn't want a shower and she needed a list- I gave her a list of rumparoos infant cloth diapers, an ergo, and a pack n play. She wanted addresses for people so she could throw a cyber shower...
ugh... I mean, it's very nice but here's the thing. DH comes from a big close family with lots of friends who are like family. I have my mom, two brothers, and my one close friend. My work colleagues already got me a present and my mom got me everything she saved from when I was a baby. I don't want a shower! If you want to get me gifts that's fine but stop trying to shoehorn a shower into things.
  • Dude. After my appointment today the receptionist went ahead and scheduled out the rest of my doctors appointments. Well, all my appointments up until my due date. So now I'm back at work filling out time off request forms. I know I shouldn't but I feel so guilty for taking off every week. This is one of the downsides of working in a school. I don't have a flexible lunch schedule to work appointments in to and I school hours don't really allow me to make appointments before work or after. So, I'm stuck taking 1.5- 2 hours off every week. I mostly feel bad because it puts a strain on the rest of the team. Guess there's nothing I can do about it though.

  • Love when it takes 2 hours for a scheduled maintenance appointment on a car. I've been sitting here waiting and I have literally almost fallen asleep so many times. And sooo glad I brought a snack with me.
