How far along are you? 14 weeks 2 days How are you feeling? Much better in the last 2 weeks, less morning sickness. Why are you high-risk? AMA and loss at 22.5 weeks last summer. Do you have any upcoming appointments or procedures? Meeting with the specialist on 3/11 to see if this baby has healthy kidneys. So excited and scared about that appointment. Questions/Celebrations? No questions, but I think I've been feeling flutters since Saturday
Why are you high-risk? Heart disease, tracheostomy, seizures, pulmonary embolis, the baby has a cystic hygroma
Do you have any upcoming appointments or procedures?
We got the preliminary CVS results back, and the baby doesn't have downs, turners, or trisomy 18. But the preliminary results only test for the top 5 genetic conditions. They said there's still not an explanation for why the baby has a cystic hygroma, so they need to do further testing. They will test for the rest of the genetic abnormalities now, and we should find out about those in a week and a half. So some good news, but we still aren't in the clear yet. And we have to wait till the 20wk ultrasound to find out if there are any structural defects in the heart or the kidneys.
Questions/Celebrations?
We just found out it's a boy!
GTKY: What is your parenting philosophy? What are your beliefs or values around raising a child?
This is a really wide open question. I would just say to raise the child to be their best self with respect for themselves and others, and to instill good morals and values.
