NN suggestions

DH and I are considering Calista for a girl name. I love it on its own, but I know people will be inclined to want to shorten it. I would like to have a NN ready but NOT Callie. I have a bad association that I can't shake with the name Callie. Any suggestions would be great! Otherwise I think we will have to scrap it and pick from further down our list.

I think Calista is nice. I personally don't think it needs to have a nickname but naturally Callie is a possibility I suppose. Cal, Lista, Lis, I guess could be options. However if you have that much of a hatred for Callie I would avoid C names that could lead to it, especially since there is a chance your LO might like it and want to go by it

Lissy? Kind of along the same lines as Lottie for Charlotte.

It's a name and hopefully by the time she wants to choose a different nn your association won't be as strong or important. If you feel like you never ever want her to be called Callie, even in 10 years, then you should probably pick a different name.

Choose a different name if you can't stand any obvious nicknames. You can choose a different nn, but her friends and she may want to go by Cali.

I love Calista but it seems like Cal and Callie are the natural nicknames for it though. I would just use it and call her by her full name and if someone tries to call her Callie while she's little just politely correct them. Of course you can't control what she chooses to go by when she's older but I wouldn't worry about that now. If it really does bother you that much than you probably should pick another name.
