Baby Names

Does it sound too cutesy or am I over thinking?

Out DD's name is Daphne. We really like the name Delilah for baby 2 but cant determine if it sounds too cutesy with Daphne. Our other options are below. Do you think we're ok with Delilah or should we go with something else on our list?

Delilah
Laine
Evie
Naomi
Shea

  • I don't like them together although I like both names.  Of them I think Naomi is best

  • I like Naomi best in your list. I, personally, don't like sibling alliteration, but I don't side eye it. My only real objections against Delilah is her story in the Bible and the name means "weak" and "languishing".
    This.

  • Another vote for Naomi,  mainly because I don't care for sibling alliteration.
  • Delilah is my favorite from your list, but I see your point about it being a little much with Daphne.

Suggesting Violet and Amelia which are similar but not as matchy with Daphne.

  • It sounds like Delilah is your favorite and it's a beautiful name. I honestly don't know why people feel so strongly about names matching too much or not enough with siblings. They are separate people. Give them names you love.

    This.
  • Alliteration doesn't bother me at all and I like Daphne and Delilah, but Delilah's Biblical story totally turns me off from the name, so I vote for Naomi.

  • I like the sound of Delilah better. But it's meaning is a turn off
  • I LOVE Delilah! Def not to cutesy!!! If you love it go for it! Don't let others ruin it for you. I've been noticing that happens a lot here on the bump :(

  • I love Delilah, but not with a sibling named Daphne.

Out of your other choices, Naomi gets my vote.

  • Stick with Delilah.  It is a beautiful name and I think it sounds just fine with Daphne.
  • Delilah is a pretty name but I wouldn't use it with Daphne. I wouldn't side eye you for using it though. Daphne and Naomi sound lovely together (both of those names were on my short list for my last girl.)
  • I have friends with a Daphne and a Daliah. NMS, but your taste is not unheard of.
  • I like Daphne and Delilah together. I'd say use the name you love.
  • Delilah is lovely but I despise the Bible story, so that kills it for me. I would consider the extent to which kids in your social circle go to Sunday school.
  • What about Naomi Delilah?
