Strange question?

Has anyone here ever tried to "feel" their uterus early on? I pushed just above my pubic bone this morning while I was getting dressed and I swear I could feel the firmness of my uterus. I'm 6w5d so I don't know if it would be too early for that and I'm just wishfully thinking that's what it is, but after lots of spotting so far and up and down symptoms it makes me feel better to have what appears to be concrete evidence that things are progressing well!!

Way too early. I'm sorry about your spotting. Early pregnancy is definitely a worrisome time.

Symptoms, or lack thereof, are not indicative of the health of your pregnancy.

At 6 weeks, your uterus is still well below your public bone. It won't be above it until approximately 12 weeks.

It's impossible to be feeling your uterus at this point.  It's probably just firm from bloating

Symptoms come and go, and spotting is completely normal as long as it isn't accompanied by cramping and the spotting is mild. Sorry you're having doubts - I know exactly how you feel!

You're not feeling your uterus and symptoms come and go. They are not indicative of the viability of your pregnancy. Best of luck

Sorry to hear about up and down symptoms and spotting I know that can make you anxious. Try to stay positive and remember that today you are pregnant. Have you spoken to your dr about your spotting. I know mine put me on pelvic rest until I went 7 days without it. Every dr is different and some spotting can be normal. Make sure to call them if it is ever accompanied by cramping as others have said though! Hoping everything continues going well for you though ! Hang in there!

BrookieB86 When I was early in my first trimester, I felt like I was already developing a bump. Not to be gross, but it turned out several days later that it was a lot of gas buildup and bloat. It's very common to switch between constipation and the other side during the first trimester. And the hard feeling in your abdomen makes it easy to feel like a bump is already forming. Good luck to you in your pregnancy!

Thank you ladies!! I had my first US today and got to see our little bean! HR was 136 and I am
measuring at 7w1d which is a day ahead of where I thought I was. I think the bloating may have been what was causing the firmness in my lower abdomen. Spotting still comes and goes but my Dr told me at 4w4d that it looked like I have an irritated blood vessel on my cervix and no bleeding was mentioned today so I am thinking that's what it is still from. I have my 1st OB appointment on Monday so I'll be able to talk about the continued spotting. Thank you all for your input!!! Here's to happy, healthy bumps for all!!
