My shower is March 26th and this is what I am currently contemplating buying to wear. It has been sitting in my cart since 8am and I can't bring myself to hit "Proceed to Checkout". It is only $39.98, but I still feel weird spending even that. What is wrong with me? Tell me it is gorgeous and I need to just bite the bullet and buy it!
But it!!! So pretty and it looks like it would be good in the summer too before all baby weight is off!
I did not know I was supposed to dress up. I guess I better buy something! My shower is the 26th, but it's all my friends and a brunch (co-ed) so I think my baby is just an excuse for a good boozy brunch among friends! And I am happy to oblige! (I won't do the boozy part, though...)
My shower is April 10th in WI, so I'll have to at least wear a cardigan (and will probably wear leggings with it as well). Hoping it can do double duty if I end up making it to our friends' wedding on June 11th...
My shower is April 23 (here's hoping baby stays put until then! I'm due two weeks later) and I imagine I will wear whatever still fits:) Most likely my work pants and a blouse. It's going to be a really informal affair (a potluck brunch hosted by DH's aunt and advertised by evites), so I am sure no one will think it odd that I'm not dressed up or particularly summery.
But my confession is: I love looking at the dresses all y'all ladies are choosing! Please keep posting:)
This was my shower dress ! I really loved it because it was so comfortable but yet i felt pretty in it. First time in a couple months I got dolled up and it felt good ! I jazzed it up with a long tassel necklace and matching earrings ... I wore flat sandals tho !
Yes it is thin, and the thin material would have been fine when I bought it (as it was very loose) but I'm concerned now that I'm bigger. I'm not quite sure I'll even wear it as my shower may be cancelled anyway but I'm hoping to wear it maybe over the summer when recovering and I still need bigger clothes. I think I had gotten it for 50% off though so I'm not to upset over the price.
i ordered this dress and it should be here Tuesday for my shower on Saturday! I am also having luck that it will actually be in the 70s this week!! I am in VA and the weather has been so crazy! It isn't maternity but it should fit fine since it's a maxi I'm just a little worried about the top and my boobs haha
Hello! My shower is this Saturday, March 12th. After looking for a while (I don't really like maternity clothes) I ordered two dresses because I just couldn't make up my mind. I already received both of them and they look amazing! I thought I would share them, in case anyone is looking for a dress. They fit great! I still don't know which one I will use...
and this one from ASOS, which I LOVE! looks so feminine and fits great. Unfortunately, it seems that it's out of stock now. But I was impressed.. first order from ASOS Maternity and quality/fit/design were above expectations.
While everyone else is checking their registries obsessively, I am checking the tracking on my shower dress! It is scheduled to arrive Thursday and I am so paranoid it isn't going to fit right. This is my first time buying non-plus size (I used the sizing chart on the website and the plus sizes would've been huge on me!). For perspective, I was a size 24 (3-4 XL) at my heaviest before this pregnancy and am now measuring in a maternity size 12-14 (L-XL). I also read the reviews and people said that the dress I ordered is pretty true to size, except the arm holes/bust are a little bigger, which is fine by me because I still have bat-wings (that is the one spot fat just doesn't budge on me) and these milk bags are filling up quite a bit! I will post a pic when I do fashion show for my son Thursday night. Eeeek!
I am having two showers! One is coming up on Saturday March 12th... This is what I'm wearing! The theme is really just "Baby Boy" lol... Our nursery is grey/navy/aqua so I know they're doing that color scheme as well as Elephants!
But with sandals, and some turqoise/silver jewelry! Dress is Target, shoes from Forever 21, and jewelry from Charming Charlies!
I'm having a second shower on March 19th that is a baseball theme and will be at a baseball stadium - not a game, just at the stadium's restaurant. I'm wearing a sleeveless denim dress from Target. I feel like it's a bad sign that I can't find it online considering it's a spring dress!!
I wore this Pink Blush dress to my shower a couple of weeks ago:
It was shorter than I had expected when I ordered it (and I'm only 5'2"), so the wedge heels I had planned to wear didn't work. The material was thin and felt cheap. I was kind of surprised that it didn't fall apart when I washed it. Although it looked cute with the flats I wore, I've decided not to wear it to my other shower.
I think I'm going to wear this Tommy Bahama cotton maxi dress I already had to my next shower a week from Saturday: It isn't technically maternity, but the waist is high enough that it fits really well. It's also long enough that I can wear the wedges I wanted to wear with the other dress.
For those that have ordered from Pink Blush, how do the dresses run??
The first maxi dress in my post above is from the Pink Blush maternity line. It was shorter than I expected, but I should have read the measurements provided on their website. The material was really thin, so I'm glad it was a dark color, otherwise it may have been see-through. I am a pre-pregnancy size 6, so I ordered a medium. It was a little snug through the waist and bust (I'm a large 36C), and I had to add an extra hole to the belt for it to fit comfortably. I'm not sure if this is typical of their sizing or if it was just this dress since it's the only thing I've ordered from there.

Shorter than expected is good for me lol! I am 5ft, so I was already thinking it would be a tad long. I'm actually looking at the dress you wore, or another one similar style though.
@jenl1681I find Pink Blush runs small, particularly in length. I'm tall though, 5'9". I don't go off of pre-pregnancy sizes because I've gained so much (nearly 40 lbs at 32 weeks, yaaaaaaay) and I'd rather things be too big than too small. I wear a medium in their shirts/tops but ordered my shower dress in a large and it fits really well.
@jenl1681 I'm short, too (5'2"), so just make sure you measure with the shoes you plan to wear before you order. I'm used to everything (especially maxi dresses) being too long on me, so I was really surprised.
my dress came in early! I can't believe how well it fits. So imagine this with better hair and maybe fancied up with jewelry and makeup. Sooooo excited!
Mine is next Saturday (March 19). I bought my dress for $9 on poshmark and couldn't be more thrilled. and instead of buying an expensive maternity sash I made one myself for $20. Now I just have to find shoes

When are you due?? You look great. And I'm sorry for saying this because people keep saying this to me, but you look tiny!
Went with my husband to his doctors appt today and his doctor couldn't believe I'm due in 8 weeks!
For those that have ordered from Pink Blush, how do the dresses run??
I ordered a Maxi Dress from Pink Blush for the first time. It does run short but I am 5'4" and the length is actually perfect to wear with flats. Pre pregnancy I was size 4 / 6. I've gained 35 lbs (I'm 32 weeks) and my bra size right now stands at 36DD lol.. I ordered size small and looks great! Fitted in the arms/breast area but not tight, and the dress falls very nicely...will be wearing it this weekend.

Is this the sweater dress from target? If so I just got it too! It's so comfy!!
I loved scrolling through all these pretty dresses! I wish I had something coming up that I could wear a nice maternity dress to. Also I am extremely envious of all you ladies who can just buy stuff online! I have never been able to buy clothing online without having to return it all. Usually the items are either to big for my waist but fit my boobs just right or fit my waist and the boobs are either bulging out of the top or squished into a uni-boob.
Important update: I tried on my dress for MH and I was super giddy, knowing I look damn fine and he hasn't seen me in anything fancier than my work slacks and maternity blouses in months. His response: "Awww, you really look like a mom!"
How do I take this? I haven't decided if I am mad at him or not. It really could go either way at this point...
@laurenmdrn16 I would take it to mean that you look maternal, pregnant, etc. I don't think he probably understood that many of us would associate 'looking like a mom' with something negative. I guess if I flip it around, if I see a man holding a baby or with a receiving blanket on his shoulder and sleeves rolled up, I would think 'aw you look like a dad'. Where as 'dad bod' (Blech I hate that term) means something else to most people.
I don't know for sure if that's what your SO meant but my gut is that he intended it sweetly.

Take it as a compliment. Men don't get it...especially with the maxi dresses. Anytime I wear a maxi, my husband tells me I look like I am wearing an outfit of a certain religious sect (no offense meant, I promise!). They don't understand the point of wearing a long dress, when you could be wearing a mini and showing leg. Honestly, you look great, and should flaunt that new body!
Random shower related question! Your inputs would be appreciated.
Mine is on the 9th of April and my dad is hosting a braai (bbq) for DH at the same time - different party same venue.
DH decided that we were not going to put BIL (his brother) on the list due to reasons. The question now is should we invite my BIL (sister's DH)? Cause say we don't, then he (and she) gets upset with us, but if we do - my MIL would be there and she would be upset with us for not inviting her son.
Is there a tactical way to handle this or should we just play dumb?!
@yogahh and @seasalt123 you guys are right. I had to check myself before I riggity-wrecked myself because my knee-jerk was to take offense, but I think he meant it in a sweet and loving way. I do get all mushy when I see him doing dad stuff so I think that was just what he meant too. No need to start a fight when neither of us really has the energy anyways!
So a month or so ago I saw this wrap dress from Pink Blush that would be PERFECT for my shower, but it was sold out. (Picture below.) After waiting awhile for it to come back in stock, I eventually gave up and ordered another dress (a purple strapless one) from Zappo's. It didn't look bad on me, but it didn't look that great either and needed tailoring because it was SUPER LONG, but whatevs, I can just add a cardigan with it and no big deal, right?
Well, two days ago I noticed that Pink Blush was selling a version of the original dress I wanted, but with a navy blue background instead of ivory. The ivory one was still out of stock, and my shower is in like two weeks, so I just went ahead and ordered it. At least I was getting a dress in the same cut/pattern I wanted, right?
Well, haha, this morning I checked the website again because I was awake and bored and I still need to order some basic nursing tanks/sleepwear, and I'd just been given one of those Visa gift cards to use however I want. And, lo and behold, the original dress I wanted was right on the front page and is now back in stock, and in my size!!
So, yeah, I went ahead and put the damn dress on the Visa gift card. At least I now have three pretty dresses to wear, right? Hahahaha. Oh man.
Edit: uhhhh, sorry about the super large picture. My mac is being weird and won't let me resize it...
@laurenmdrn16I'm glad you're taking it as a compliment, which I'm sure is the way it was intended. When I ask my H how I look in an outfit these days he says, "you look like a beautiful pregnant lady." I haven't let on that it annoys me because he sincerely means it as a compliment but I know I look pregnant, he doesn't have to add that part.
I'm getting really excited about our shower on Saturday, but also a little nervous. I'm just not great with events that are about me. I'm really hoping that sharing the spotlight with my H and LO will make that part easier. For some reason I keep worrying that guests will regret that they came which is stupid considering its all our closest family and friends. My mom is coming into town this afternoon so that she can do prep stuff tomorrow and I'm so excited to see her but I'm weirdly uptight about the whole thing probably because it means that we're getting closer and closer to delivery. Anyone else having/had anxiety about their shower?

I got this one in Navy Blue. Simple yet very cute! If I end up using this one, I will add a belt. Thought of it as a great buy, as I can see myself wearing it later: https://www.pinkblushmaternity.com/p-18182-royal-blue-solid-short-sleeve-maternity-maxi-dress.aspx?DepartmentID=1
