I know this came up on WTF Wednesday but I think it deserves its own thread. OH MY GOD some of those couples were ridiculous!! Yeah, the Google docs things needs to be discussed, and also...that first couple, Marsadie (sp? idfk) & Doug? I told my husband several times that they can't even be real people. They can't. I mean, right at the beginning when he's on the phone with 911 and he says "You gotta hurry, we were trying to do this at home but it was a terrible idea." WHAT. You were trying to have her deliver at home...with only you to help? While you're holding a video camera? I also loved how he went tanning several hours after the baby was born. AND THEN, they were making a list of things they needed....very basic essential baby supplies. I'm sorry but did these people not get the same 9 months to prepare that the rest of us get???? And then his whole scene about the hospital overreacting to the fact that his baby's blood glucose was 37?
Re: NBR: Rattled
There's another couple that seem sweet. They had IVF after trying for 2 years and ended up conceiving quadruplets. There's a 4th couple that I can't remember a single thing about, mainly because Marsadie & Doug were so trainwrecky I couldn't focus on much else.
And as someone mentioned in WTF, there's a couple in NYC who have created a color coded google doc of feeding, napping, etc, complete with alarms to signify when they should change activities. The wife said that the baby will be fitting into their lives, not the other way around, and the husband agreed that it shouldn't be that hard to do. I'm a FTM and I already know how hysterically funny that line of thinking is...
Omg. That makes me want to punch that couple. Can you be any more stupid... not to mention selfish? The baby will fit into YOUR schedule. Sound like awful parents.
The "home birth" couple is insane. Why isn't he in the ambulance with her? I hope there's a valid medical reason why he's in the car behind them giving an on camera play by play of the trip rather than holding her hand or basically anything else. And really, he's had 3 kids before and he asked if he should push the baby back in?!
Omgggg I just got to the eyeballs part. Ouch.
you would also think that the couple that owns the childcare business would understand more of child development and raising a baby. Like their google calendar, pretty sure no newborn is going to stick to a schedule.
I was so happy to see the Gardner's! I've been following them on Facebook since their story became viral and they just seem like the sweetest family

I want to know where to buy one of those bottles that the couple with the schedule had.
Next week (third time is the charm I hope) seems like it will be a lot more interesting after seeing some of the previews for next week.

But how about the mother in law of the new couple???
I go to bed way too early to watch it Tuesday nights and I was disappointed last week when it wasn't available "On Demand." Now I get to waste time at work watching it!!!

Also I'm so NOT a fan of helicopter mom/grandma. I can't think of the couple's name, but she got ticked when they had her leave the room so they could talk to the nurse.

Also can't stand Doug. Still. I'm not actually sure what Mars saw in him in the first place. I predict break up...
I havent watched this week's episode yet because it's seriously on too late but I really felt empathetic for the NY mom and her feelings of isolation last week. I'm so grateful both of my kids will be born when the weather is nice enough to walk around, it's so easy here to have things delivered but it really does isolate you if you're not careful.
Also, I know their schedule is insane but I can't recommend having a tracking app for baby enough. It kept me sane last time with my struggle to breast feed and allowed me to see patterns that I was too tired to notice on my own, so then I could somewhat anticipate what DS would do for a 2-3 hour span and take advantage (to shower, walk the dog, run errands).
I was hoping to watch episode #2 today during naptime, but only episode 1 is available to me also (verizon fios). sad
