I thought this might be an interesting and fun conversation to go down as I'm a FTM and know nothing other than my own daughter; I'm the first out of my friends to have a baby and didn't see the relatives close enough to know what thier babies were like. Take the time to tell us about your baby and what makes them tick, I'm curious to see the differences:
Felicity is a high needs, diva baby. She can't be left alone more than 20 minutes (me within eye view or 5 minutes not) in her gym or mama roo before she loses her mind. She very much seems to need time to get used to things (5+ introductions) before she's willing to be okay with them- new toys, her bouncer, whatever it may be. She needs to be entertained CONSTANTLY and only likes things for at most 15 minutes before she's bored and wants a change in activity or scenery. She loves to eat and would happily eat the days 30 ozs in a sitting if you let her. She wants so badly to do things on her own. She's much more happy being propped up in the boppy, couch or hanging by your fingers to sit up that you holding her up- she seems to want to be independent. She does not like her face touched or kissed unless she's in a very good mood in which she is simply tolerant- she doesn't like her vision obstructed. When she cries, it's crocodile tear central. When she's happy though, it's all smiles and squeals.
Now I know some of these are just synonymous with babies but I'm curious about other baby personality types. I've heard of the elusive 'easy baby' but don't know what that consists of. What is your baby like? For STMs(+) was there a huge personality difference of similarities between each kid?
Re: Baby Personalities- Tell us the Tale
Kid does not mess around with eating, and has a double chin to prove it. HE goes from lip smacking and fist chewing to full on hanger screams in 30 seconds
He loves to smile and talk to my H and I, but doesn't really give out many smiles to other. Others have to earn his smiles, it takes him sometime to decide if he likes. He will give you a serious look whike he sizes you up haha.
He thinks the dog is the greatest thing ever.
He can sleep through pretty much anything, thanks to big sister. We've taken him everywhere since he was born and most days barely even notice he's there because he's just content to be with us and look around.
Night time sleep is hit or miss but he just wants to snuggle when he's awake so he comes to bed with me and sleeps well.
It takes him a while to really cry- unless he's been hurt. He will suck his hand and smack his lips for 20 minutes when he wants to eat. And he eats and is done most days. It's so different from his sister who wanted to be attached to the boob all day and night long.
The only thing that really bothers him is gas. 1 or 2 nights a week he seems to get a little belly ache but even then he doesn't complain much. He will even stop to smile at me mid cry if I start talking to him.
He loves his big sister but is also kind of afraid of her when she starts poking at him
My daughter was very attached to me and cried easily when things made her mad, but still was a very happy baby. He is so much more laid back.
He loves bath time with Daddy and smiles through the whole thing. He's much happier sitting up or standing on our laps. He needs to see what's going on around him.
My husband and I have always had some kind of noises going on (even if it's just the dog barking) so he has no trouble sleeping with noise around him. Getting him to sleep is usually a chore as he likes to fight sleep as much as he can. He's always cranky when it comes time to put him to sleep. When he's asleep he sleeps well, best with a few cuddles.
Most of the day he's happy as can be and smiles all the time!
