We only have one niece in our family. It's DH's niece. She was born 4 months after we started dating. I consider her our niece. She calls me Aunt Kim, so to me it just makes sense. If I'm talking to someone, I do sometimes say DH's niece though.

Do they call you aunt? Because then I would consider them "my" niece/nephew. I don't have any nieces/nephews yet (though my oldest sis is expecting so that'll change soon). But I've been with DH since we were in HS, we've been married nearly 7 years, and none of his brothers are married yet. Though one BILs girlfriend, our DD sometimes calls her aunt, so I hope that when they marry (very, very likely they will) she will consider DD her niece as well.
I usually say "his" or "my," but mostly because we both had nieces and nephews before we got married. I try to be more conscious of referring to them as "our" neices and nephew, but it's just a habit now.
Another possibly weird thing in my family is that my nephew (My sister's son) calls me by my first name, not Aunt First Name, the majority of the time. He always calls my husband by his first name. DH's brother's kids refer to us as Aunt and Uncle, but I think this is because FIL insists on it.
DH (32): SA is ok, slightly low morph, normal SCSA Me (32): Slightly low progesterone, hostile CM, carrier for CF, Moderately high NKC, High TNFa, heterozyogous mutated Factor XIII, and +APA
October 2012-May 2014: 4 failed IUIs, 3 failed IVFs, and 1 failed FETw/donor embryos
November 2014: IVF w/ICSI #4 Agonist/Antagonist with EPP and Prednisone, Baby Aspirin, Lovenox, and IVIG for immune issues. Converted to freeze all due to lining issues. 2 blasts frozen on day 6!
January 2015: FET #2 Cancelled due to lining issues
I would say that H & I have 2 nephews - one on his side, one on my side. They are both our nephews. The older one was born while we were engaged, and the second after we were married.
