My doc have me ok for Tums. But I don't like to take anything like that.

Believe it or not.... One spoonful of braggs organic apple cider vinegar mixed in a glass of water is instant relief. I feel your pain right now and I plan on having a glass myself when I get home. There is also several other great things it does for you. Read about it. It's like coconut oil great for everything. It also helps me with my bloat.

    Good luck!

Tums freshens saved me last time and this time it has started much earlier! It was so bad until he literally came out last time, I blame it on the head full of hair he had. Anxious to see if this one will be the same.

Not sure if this will help but, make sure you stay seated up right after every meal for 30mins. Eat smaller meals. Stay away from coffee and heavy greasy food. Those are tips my Dr has given me. Hope it helps. Best of luck.

I had bad reflux for a long time but prilosec and/or nexium have been life savers. Thought I would have to stop taking my rx when I got pregnant but the doctors all told me to keep taking it cuz it'll only get worse. Ask your doc if you could try it.

When I get acid reflux I drink milk. It helps coat your esophagus and stomach lining. As much as you want to lay down, don't that just makes it worse. I would normally do a Prilosec treatment not being pregnant but now I believe only Zantac was suggested. Hopefully this means you will just have a baby with a lot of hair!

Milk might feel good as you drink it but can ultimately make acid reflux worse as milk actually has an acidic ph, so be careful.

Like PP said, a proton pump inhibiter medication like Prilosec or nexium or dexilant are amazing. That's the only thing that's taken my reflux away completely and provided relief. Can't be on it long term but if your OB allows it while pregnant those are really amazing!

You can always call your OB to see what they recommend for you to take. Smaller meals have definitely helped with me.

With DS I had constant acid reflux. Tums and milk were by best friends. People say that means the baby will have lots of hair. He came out with a full head of hair, so there ya go lol

This may be a dumb question, but I've read from some people that adding a Zantac or Pepcid at night significantly helped their morning sickness the next day... So anyone have advice on determining whether acid reflux is making morning sickness worse? I am queasy every morning and evening without fail, but only vomit about once a week. Now that I'm past 12 weeks, i'd be comfortable adding an antacid to see if that would help. I took a Zantac yesterday evening though and was sicker this morning than I'd been in a week, after a week of feeling better!
