That's great news! Our twins are doing great now! thanks for asking. They spent 3.5 months in the nicu, but they are almost 2 years old now! They are both walking and beginning to talk. They might appear a bit behind a toddler their age, but they are on their own schedules and perfect!
Mama to Three Girls: Twins born March 2014 at 26 weeks due to preterm labor and our 37weeker born May 9th, 2016!
So good to hear you are home. What are you taking for your seizures? Are you epileptic? I am epileptic and taking Topamax, and have been curious if there are any other people with epilepsy or seizure disorders on the Bump. The risk of seizure increases with hormone surges and sleeplessness, and the risk of preterm labor increases with many anti seizure meds... It seems everything works against us.
I'm definitely sending prayers for you and your LO.
I am taking zonagram and clonzapam but bc my levels in zonagram dropped to 3.6% which is like nothing and I am at the max they are considering adding a new one to the mix. My brain can feel it. I'm overwhelmed easily and can not handle much. Just tying to not have another bad seizure. So far still pregnant! Amen! Today marks 26weeks! So two weeks ago I was in the hospital. Lots of bedrest and we hired a live in Nanny to care for my son, help with light house chores and bring me meals when I can't come down. So thankful for her. Church is bringing meals every other day. Lots of support! Little guy is happy in there and tumbling around like crazy! Thank you all! Will keep you updated!
Thanks I will try to as often as I can. I forget things a lot right now. Again a side effect of low medication in me. I sleep a lot.
It's frustrating to hear people's advice loke sometimes you're just going to have to pick your son up...um no! Im on strict orders right now not to so thank you but 1. You've never been high risk pregnancy before and 2. Nor did you go into preterm labors "pressure is normal in pregnancy" yea it is...later on when the baby is in position and you are close to going into labor NOT this early! I should not be having this. That's why my doctors are so concerned so thank you, I'm glad all went well for your 2 pregnancies but I think given my condition I'm going to follow my doctors order and not yours. Why can't people understand that I don't need advice on how to care for my son, how to get through this etc. when someone goes through somethings all you do is ask "how can I help" period. If I want your advice I'll ask for it.
Ok rant over. I'm happy for the help so I try to tolerate it but it's so frustrating bc I'm not one to easily ask for help, I like to help others so this isn't easy for me. To make me feel wrong or guilty drives me nuts! I just shake it off as they don't understand and I said plainly you know what if I'm being over protective guess what so be it, this is my first pregnancy and I'm high risk (other son was adopted) I will do whatever it takes to not loose him or have him come too early. Period. Agree with it or not!
@miraclepfGod Hugs!!! You do what's best for you and that baby. A lot of people tend to have the attitude that "oh it's fine, that's normal" when it comes to pregnancy, but obviously there are cases where it's not! Try not to get too upset about the unsolicited advice and just do whatever your doctor says.
Thank you! It's just a very opinionated friend who doesn't take the same percussions in many ways with her children and you know what? That's fine, their your kinds, I've never told you what to do and when she watches my son I trust her and don't make her do things my way but don't push your way on me all while talking about hating mommy bashing! lol guess what you may care that's you follow the direct rules to car seats bc x amount of years ago they didn't have them but considering I'm and epileptic bc of a brain injury due to a "minor" rear end car crash I WILL do everything I can for the safety of my child and that's not to be compared to "might as well bubble wrap them"! Please! I let him fall down, explore, get into things (;watching him) but letting him explore the world and learn.
Anyways, I'm a huge anti-mom bashing person. I may not agree or choose the same thing for my child but unless it directly puts your child at harms risk (life life and death) I don't say anything.
And yes keeping baby boy in as long as possible and minimizing conversations that can lead to that momma drama I hate! Lol
I'm still struggling bad in the brain. Have to see nuerologist probably this week. Baby is moving around like crazy and I can tell growing! He's still very happy in there. Tomorrow is 27 weeks and the start of third trimester!!!! Yea! Personal goal: make it full term! Doctors goals: 32-34 weeks so to make doctors goal I have a month-month and half left but Praying all the way till May 2!!
I appreciate everyone's support here! It means a lot! Thank you!
2 seizures over the weekend. 1 was so bad my Nanny who stayed with me said I lost consciousness and stopped breathing luckily for only a short period of time. Jerking was bad but I didn't cramp up in abdominal (I knew it was coming so laid flat and tried to relax). Good news is it's made the Doctors jump quicker on drawing my blood levels and get me on another medication. Some contractions but not enough to go to hospital. Today is week 28. Keep praying! Love to all!
Thanks for the update! Continuing to send positive thoughts. I'm sure it's incredibly scary, but you seem to be handling the situation with a lot of grace.
I hope everything goes ok for you . I have been in the hospital for a week already for preterm Labor so good luck at the dr. They told me I'll be here till I am 36 weeks. Just remember it's best for baby! Also an added plus was that for every day I stayed pregnant was 3 days baby does not spend in nicu. Fingers crossed for you! Sending prayers your way!
Thoughts and prayers- and words of encouragement: a good friend of mine went into early labor at 24 weeks last August '14 and her beautiful lil baby boy is striving, kicking ass, growing, and exceeding expectations repeatedly!!! Positivity and good thoughts coming your way from L.I.
