June 2016 Moms

What day does your week turn over, and why?

I can decided if my weeks turn over on Tuesday or Sunday.
First day of my last period was Tuesday, Day I conceived through IUI was a Sunday.
So, technically I got pregnant on a Sunday, but traditionally its often measured by the period date.
Im thinking of switching my Tuesdays to Sundays, Especially since baby has always measured ahead.
I dont think backing it up 3 days is really that big of a deal, when its all an estimate anyway....

Whats your day? Period or Conception?

Re: What day does your week turn over, and why?

  • I don't know my conception date, so I was measuring mine by my period date until I had a dating ultrasound that put me back a couple of days. That's the date I'm using now.

  • Pregnancy is not typically measured by the date of conception. Even when date of conception is known, LMP is used (or is adjusted slightly if cycle length is atypical).

I go by the day of the week that my due date is because my LMP was obviously way off (early ultrasound showed I was over 2 weeks behind where my LMP put me).
  • I had long, irregular periods after going off HBC, so I needed a dating ultrasound to accurately date my pregnancy. According to that my EDD is a Saturday, so that's the day the week turns over for me.

  • I just go off my due date which is a Monday so that's when I turn over weeks. I got pregnant my first cycle off of birth control so I didn't really have an accurate LMP and needed a dating u/s as well.
  • I go by my EDD which is a Wednesday.
  • Same here. They usually start with LMP but the ultrasound is obviously more accurate. Once they determine due date with the ultrasound, I'd go off that.
  • I did IVF so no LMP and conception date is pretty obvious. ;) I go by EDD which is a Friday.
  • My LMP and conception date actually lined up the same as my EDD ultrasound. My doctor said it was abnormally normal, ha! So my week switches on Wednesdays with my EDD being June 15.
  • I go by due date which also lines up with my IUI on a Wed.
DS 9/2/13 was a BFP from an IUI!
Triplets due 6/29/16 also from an IUI!

  • My LMP was a Thursday, but dating by LMP is if your cycles are exactly 28 days. Mine were consistently 30-31 days. Not a big difference. My first ultrasound showed a two day difference between LMP and ultrasound so my doctor uses the ultrasound due date. Which would exactly match up with my LMP and cycle. That is June 25, a Saturday. My LMP due date is June 23 a Thursday if you use the 28 day cycle.. I use the June 25 date as my due date.

  • I don't know my date of conception (it was an oops! Thanks Cabo!!) so I'm also going off of LMP. Dating u/s puts baby only 3 days ahead of EDD, so I'm not changing that until after Monday's anatomy scan. :) oh! And my week, conveniently, turns over on Sunday's.

  • Sunday is probably more convenient. Mine turns over on Wednesdays and it's a bit odd. I am going by my updated due date even though I know when I conceived too.
  • I go by my LMP. I have no idea when my conception date was; I didn't even know I was pregnant until I was almost 9 weeks along.

With DD2, I did know exactly when my conception date was, due to using IUI, but I still used my LMP to determine how far along I was.

My turn over day is Saturday, I'm
Guessing it's because that's when the bump decided my husbands ejaculate fertilized an egg. ;)
  • I don't think it really matters, but I'm keeping my day at my last period. Babies come the day you would have had your period, supposedly....

  • I go by my EDD from my dating ultrasound. When people ask for my due date I tell them early June, since the actual day is just an estimate.

When I've known my conception date, I've gone by that. (Did you ovulate the day of your iui for sure?)

This time was a surprise, so I go by my LMP.
  • I was going by my LMP until at my first appt, she pushed me back 3 weeks! So my due date is now on a Mon so I go by that.
  • My periods were extremely irregular so here's how I did mine:

    1. Dating u/s done on a Friday and baby measured 6 weeks 6 days
    2. Figured out I turned 7 weeks the day after that appointment so Saturdays are my turn date
    3. That also aligns with EDD as PP's said (due June 25th which is a Saturday)
  • I went through IVF. So I know my day of conception, and I found a "due date predictor" for IVF patients and it gave my due date which is a Monday. So I go off my due date and turnover day being Monday. Plus my conception date was a Monday, and they usually back that up 2 weeks to your "start date."

  • FYI, there is a margin of error in the dating ultrasound (it may actually be on the photo printout if you have one).

I don't know if it's standard across machines/measurement protocols, but the way they measure in my practice it's plus or minus 5 days.  It's really a ballpark, and not necessarily anymore accurate than LMP or date of ovulation/IVF/IUI etc.
  • Standard margin of error is +\- 4 days.

Go by your EDD, uncertain though it may be. That is what your OB is going by. My EDD is a Thursday. I will be 40 weeks on a Thursday. Count weeks backwards from that day for your current number of weeks.
  • I go by my EDD, which is a Tuesday.  My LMP was also a Tuesday and my conception date was either Monday or Tuesday.  So it makes no difference for me, but EDD confirmed by ultrasound makes the most sense.

  • I never actually thought about this, but after reading the thread realized mine is based of LMP. So far all my u/s have been the exact same week and day of my Bump week and day, guess the date is working for me either way.
  • My dating ultrasound said June 21 and FF had estimated June 23, but I have long weird cycles and hadn't been using FF very long, so I went with EDD.
