DH is not sleeping ... keep having nightmares

I'm 38 +5 weeks .My DH is not sleeping lately , keep having nightmares.I feel bad for him as he has been verry suportive all pregnancy .He has to wake up very early to go to work and I wish I could help him somehow ...
He is a FTD , most likely its stress...
Anyone had similar problems ?

Re: DH is not sleeping ... keep having nightmares

  • My poor SO isn't sleeping because I'm not sleeping. Apparently, my rolling around keeps him awake... Whoops. Also, for whatever reason, he was up most of the wee morning hours with the runs and dry heaving. Food poisoning, maybe?

I'm sure your husband is stressed, but hopefully, once baby is here his nerves will be calmed to some extent, although I'm not sure sleep will come any easier... Good luck!

Aw, poor hubby! I don't think mine has been having nightmares but I do know he's not resting as well as usual because he talks in his sleep (and it's usually work jargon so I don't even know what he's saying half the time, haha!)

If it's anxiety about being a daddy, is he talking to you about it? I know a lot of apps, books, and online pregnancy resources always stress that it's important for US to discuss our fears and anxieties with our loved ones so they can reassure us, and unfortunately that probably means a lot of SO's kinda slip through the cracks... They probably feel too obligated to be the one "holding it together" to actually figure how to...you know...hold it together. Boys are weird. ;) But try to get him to talk about how he's feeling with birth and baby just around the corner.

I know I should probably try to get my hubby to open up a bit more too. He's a FTD too and while he's putting on a good show of being ready, I know the poor guy's gotta be terrified. Especially since I haven't exactly sugar coated anything...heh.

Hopefully when the little ones get here our SO's will see that 85% of the worrying was completely unnecessary and will settle into their new daddy roles with confidence. And I hope the nightmares ease up on him soon!
